Ryokan Sanga is an absolute gem - an authentic, boutique ryokan in the woods along the river. The grounds are gorgeous, with beautiful details everywhere. I was very grateful that Ryokan Sanga accepts solo travellers - as many ryokan don’t, or else they charge you for two. I had a perfect solo travel experience. Here’s what you should know: Access: Ryokan Sanga is ~2km outside of the town centre of Kurokawa Onsen. I didn’t have a car, and I didn’t regret that at all. Ryokan Sanga sent a driver to pick me up from the bus stop, and since I arrived several hours before check-in, he dropped me off in the little town of Kurokawa Onsen and took my bags to the ryokan. He then picked me up before checkin, and when we arrived, my bags were in my room. The ryokan offers free shuttles to town or to other Onsen if you are doing the Nyuto Tegata (Onsen hopping pass). After checkout, they dropped me off in town, and then picked me up with my suitcase later that day and took me to the bus stop. The service was beyond amazing. Room: I booked a Standard room for one night. It had no Onsen and no shower (just a toilet and sink). There was also a closet and a kitchenette area. Ukata, socks and slippers are provided. You can hear the roar of the river and waterfall, which turned out to be perfect white noise for sleeping. Onsen: When I checked in I booked the private outdoor Onsen for the evening and the following morning (no extra charge). Bookings are for 50mins and there are washing facilities, a sink and hairdryer. The outdoor Onsen is beautiful- it is right beside the river with waterfalls (see pics). Meals: I booked the last meal times which were 7pm for dinner and 8:30am for breakfast - the food was amazing; the dinner was one of my most memorable in my travels to Japan. See sample menu. I cannot recommend Ryokan Sanga highly enough!

Meals and services are as others write. Kurokawa Onsen is ３ degrees. At first, it seems to be abolished like thinking ”is this abolition village?” before this became popular, and the hot spring was good but rough, and the inn was bad, and it was the end of the hearing from Nakai San about the bad mouth of other inn. After that, it became popular what happened, and when it revisited, it was issued by the inn as' hot water bill ', and people other than the guests could enjoy hot springs. ”It became a good hot spring area.” I thought so. ... but it is a little change, but the competition consciousness between the inn feels like a nose. There were some impossible times for the time to put the hot water bill and the time to use it, and it was difficult to use. It's small, so there's no way to do it now, but I'm worried that I feel a disturbing wind just knowing when it was abolished.

Except expensive, no shortcomings! A ultimate enjoyment! The hotel provides one berth and two meals, both meals are particularly delicious, recommended! In addition to the private soup in the room, you can also make an appointment for the sky soup of the mountain top and the soup of the cave, both of which have their own characteristics. The hot spring town is also very interesting to visit, one step at a time~ The hotel service was considerate. When we left, we also prepared a beef burger for us to eat on the road.

This hotel is the best hotel that we stayed in on this trip . The onsen has an outdoor onsen that is truly beautiful overlooking the hills and valley of mount Aso. You need to walk about 50 m from the hotel to reach there . We had twin beds in the newly refurbished wing and everything was clean and new . Wifi was good . Temperature control good . Bathroom was adequately big with good water pressure . There was water dispenser and ice dispenser as well near the lifts . What made the stay special was the star gazing activity at night . Although we did not understand Japanese , the guide had a cool laser light that he pointed at the sky to point out the stars . We loved this activity . Food wise - lots of variety and very refined . Loved the delicious dinner and breakfast . What was lovely was the free flow of alcohol , juices and soft drinks throughout dinner . Will definitely stay here again .

We stayed for 2 nights in December 2019. The room has a bath, and the sulfur smell is a source hanging water that seems to be very effective, with the flowers of the fragrance hot water. I entered the hot spring many times during my stay, but my shoulders and back became lighter and I realized the effect. I think it is a great hot water. The room is not large, but the ceiling is high and there is no feeling of pressure. The interior was rural and did not match their hobby, but I was able to spend comfortably. The hot spring was great and the room was comfortable, so the service was outstanding. Overall, I felt that the staff was not working to meet the needs of the guests, and that it was an operation importance to turn efficiently. If guests stay at this inn, they need to match a considerable part of the inn side. I think there is no way to be a lower price range inn, but if you ask for this price, you should provide such services according to the needs of more guests. If you maintain the price now, I think you should increase the number of employees and make a fine service or lower the price if you are a service now. I was worried about the following points. • I arrived 30 minutes before check-in. At that time, check-in was from 15 o'clock, so I was told that I was not given an option and was driven out. I knew later, but there were only three guests on that day, and the cleaning staff said that they were finished until the final inspection of the room by 12 o'clock every day. Then, I was happy to have considerations such as waiting in the lobby at least. • The accommodation procedure is performed by guests. I think it is rare in this price range inn. It's a small thing, but I'm worried. • The explanation of how to use the room was also insufficient. It's dangerous if you don't explain the caution because you use a gas stove. • Dinner is 18:00 or 18:30. There is no other choice. It was too early for us. • The dinner course was delicious with beef from Kumamoto Prefecture. I felt that it was not suitable for the price of 12000 yen per person. The chef was also like one person, and it was an efficiency-oriented menu. • There are already appetizers before you arrive at the table of meals. I was careful not to dust off my jacket. • Breakfast is also a choice of 8:00 or 8:30. The most surprising thing was that I wanted 8:30, but around 8:05, I called to prepare breakfast. Is it coming early? • When I checked out, I asked me to carry two suitcases and shoulder bags, but I was refused because I couldn't carry the bag. • Especially, the male staff who was called the chief was not enthusiastic or I didn't feel the feeling of hospitality to the guests at all.

It is a secret hot water near Kurokawa Onsen. When I stopped at the parking lot, the inn was greeted and guided immediately. There is a semi open-air bath away from all rooms. I stayed in a room called a day of forest, where I can see bamboo forest from the bath. The bath on the room is a small inn, but this is a wide rock bath, and it was the best inn I have ever used. It was also good that the bedroom and toilet was away. The family bath along the river was very hot, so the temperature was considerably lowered by water. The large bath near the mother's house, where the atmosphere stairs were down, was good in the morning and night, and it was three times, but it was rental. The meal was very delicious with morning and evening thoughts. However, it was a pity that the person in charge was a new rice, so there was no explanation of the dish. There was an explanation from the lady general at breakfast. (I think dinner books are required.) Especially rice is excellent. I returned for the first time. I heard the brand to the lady general on the way back. When I returned, I was brought with a different tea bowl and I thought my care was great. Because it was spring festival, I thought it would be ruined if there was a person in a country with a large voice, but I was able to spend very quietly at the dining room. I thought that maybe even the inn was thinking... And the dryer in the room is weak. Amenities are substantial. I was happy that there was cleaning, lotion and cotton swab in the public bath. The phone can't see the email unless you go out. The price is also reasonable compared to a famous inn nearby. During the day, stop by hot springs nearby, and if you stay here, it is the best!

Lonely Paradise! This is not many hotels around that offer single rates. None of the reviews is for the single and double price difference. There is no shuttle service. The guests who come are basically self-driving, and take a taxi to the bus station for 1,100 yen. The perfect mix and match of Japanese style, the quality is hidden in the details, everything from faucets to bedding, and I want to move home. What makes people in Japan unbelievable is the abuse of disposable chopsticks, even the famous Michelin Sanxing Junoi. You can spend two meals without using heavy bamboo chopsticks, especially for dinner. The fine grip is perfect, and you have the urge to take away. You must order two meals. On this morning's hike, the one kilometer country road is only This hotel has nothing. By the way, Ctrip's name is wrong. It's Huaxin instead of Huaxin. The word of mind can go a long way. The quality of the food is high, the amount of refinement is small, and it is full. Comfortable, the room has private soup, but it's too hot. The public soup pond went to the three times for exclusive treatment. The well-cut branches and leaves contrasted with the outdoor hot soup pond. The area was just enough for one person to lie down and drunk. It was a wonderful stay. It consists of a thatched-roofed outbuilding, and the interior is clean and spacious. The bath was filled with colorless hot springs with a faint sulfur smell, the bed was comfortable with crisp sheets and futons, and the dinner was a delicious Kaiseki meal. Local specialties were eaten. The open-air bath was nice, but the sister hotel, Yamamizuki, was even more spectacular. Unfortunately, some of the employees were blunt and didn't smile. All I wanted was to see her off on the way home.

It is a place where you can feel the taste of a simple countryside.. Japanese seem to be the main customers.. The owner is poor in English, but he sincerely responds.. The meal is Japanese style.. The bee meat sashimi is impressive for dinner.. Songying service is available.. At night, you can see fireflies in the rice field in front of you.. Environmentally friendly place.. Before entering, it would be nice to buy beer at Hakatana Tenjin ... Beer is served in a cold glass for dinner, so it is recommended together~

The large bath is small, but there are two places for guests and hot water, so I don't care about congestion.
