It was terrible experience I had on this property (citadine al ghubrah muscat) I was traveling almost 24hours for holiday vacation, I selected this hotel to stay since near by the aiport, unfortunately I chosen the wrong hotel, upon check- in the lady receptionist asking me a full payment for the stay, I have no enough cash omr. But I have $ dollars with me, the total cost of my stay is only omr. 22 I have 15 omr and the rest 7 omr. I will pay by dollars, I informed the lady receptionist that I will pay the rest with $ dollars, she said that the hotel will not accept $ dollars, I was explained to her that I just came from the aiport and I was so tired shall I pay the rest by evening I have to exchange my dollars outside, or my cousin will come by evening and pay the rest of the amount cost of only omr. 7 or else I will quarantine my id or passport to keep , I will exchange the dollars outside by evening , but she refused me to check in, now I realize the discrimination /criticism,I decided to walk out and check in to other hotel, thank God other hotel very considerate not even asking the deposit even id's qurrantee, will I hope other guest will not experience the same treatment that I had experience , you have to improve your hospitality and service, especially front office staffs, never ever to booked this hotel anymore,many hotel choices in Muscat. Clean, cozy, new, fresh. The swimming pool is open. Nice fitness room. The rooms are comfortable. Very simple breakfasts, this is rather a minus. To comfortably get to and from the hotel, you definitely need a car or taxi. There is nothing within walking distance. Slippers and bathrobes are not included. Minor shortcomings in cleaning.

Reception was super friendly and I received wonderful service from them. Highly recommend staying here!

Hotel looks nice on the outside but you’ll see lots of thing waiting for you. When we arrived in the hotel we see that the people who are working at reception were nice but doesn’t give the basic information about the hotel unless you ask lots of questions. Nothing was explained. Then we switched to our room by ourselves and found out there was a bottle of water which already had been used. Thankfully the Bellboy helped us and solved the problem, we appreciate him. He is the guy who saves receptions lack of information and lack of interest. After relaxing a little we decided to have some air at the restaurant area which is the only place that has open area. But no one cares what you asked or even doesn’t bother coming and asking you as if you’d like to have something. And that’s our first 30 minutes unfortunately. We booked for 3 nights and we’ll see what’s going to happen next. Maybe it’s just our experience.

I loved this place!!! Food, shisha, taxis everywhere within distance. Hotel staff really nice. There is a swimming pool and spa available too. The only problem was that the breakfast buffet is terrible. They need to make it a lot better! Probably the worst breakfast I’ve seen in hotels that I have visited

I spend 4 nights in this hotel in the center of a capital city. There are exchanges, shops (with Omani typical sweets for example) and restaurants around the hotel. You will have nice view - you can see a Grand Sultan Mosque (especially at night). There is a terrace on the top of the hotel with a swimming pool. Hotel is really beautiful with nice interior. Rooms are clean, big and with nice furniture (like in a fairytale about princess Scheherazade). Hotel staff is very kind and professional. There is no problem they can´t solve. They can speak english very well. Food is delicious, continental breakfast and dinner a la card. I can highly recommend this hotel :)

This is nothing short of an amazing hotel and definitely worth five stars. The room was very clean, spacious and had an amazing view over the pool area and ocean. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom had everything you'd need, including a combined shower and bathtub. There was also sufficient storage space and a built-in safe that easily fitted my 15” laptop. The breakfast buffet was awesome. A huge variety of delicious food items, eggs cooked to order, fresh juices, different types of fresh bread, all sorts of hot items, cereals, and freshly grounded speciality coffees. Plus more! It was also a true treat to sit at the poolside, while enjoying this breakfast. It made for a wonderful start of the day. Unlike many other hotels, the in-house restaurants were really good too. We tried the Italian restaurant and the Duke pub/restaurant. It was really nice to sit outside, overlooking the bay and to see the sun setting. The location of the hotel makes for breathtaking views. It is on a cliff at the end of a bay, overlooking the bay and the city of Muscat. The one thing I want to point out is that there is nothing else nearby. The hotel is in a residential area and if you'd like to go to a different restaurant, you'd need to take a taxi. Not a big deal and the hotel provides about everything you'd need, but it is something to keep in mind. Last, but certainly not least, the staff at this hotel was so super friendly and helpful. They really know what hospitality means! This is also across the board. From the reception, to the house keeping, and the breakfast staff. As well as the restaurant staff. A special recognition goes to Deepika at the front desk. She clearly remembered we'd asked something about the Duke bar and the next day she gave me an update. She was also very helpful when I had to handle some documents. A great example of excellent customer service.

Al falaj hotel offers the best and most affordable swimming classes in muscat. Coach Chamith has trained me in less than 7 days where in i had taken a 10 days swimming class package. I have fought my fear of water and is able to swim in deep water as well with confidence. Chamith sir taught me free style, back stroke, relaxed style, floating and deep water swimming in less than 10 classes and I am extremely happy and more than satisfied with my experience there. Must try for anyone who would like to fight their fears and learn swimming at any age group. They have separate sessions for adults and kids.
