Kokusai 21 International Hotel Reviews

Hotel is OK, but for us, no AC system makes the room stuffy. Sleeping with open windows is not an option for us. But the hotel is clean, albeit a bit old. Location is OK, not many things around, a small Lawson nearby, Dennys restaurant on the block, we picked the hotel because our tour departs from that hotel.

Renovated room, quite clean and big. Nice handful staff. Good view. Large parking area. Just only smelling of renovated room (we guess).

The hotel located in the area of government buildings. It is therefore very good for business people. They have five restaurants. But because we did not arrange for hotel breakfast, it was a bit difficult to get breakfast around the hotel. But there is a convenient store nearby. The room was clean. Reception gave us a high floor room with beautiful city view. Appreciate that. The hotel has three big car parks. Hotel guest needed to pay parking fee of 1000 yen for throughout the stay, which I think is reasonable. The hotel is actually well located - close enough to the sightseeing spots in the city centre.

Went in April 2023. The hotel is walkable to the only natural hot spring facility in town. 100 for Service. Special shoutout to the service staff! Location wise, it is centrally located within Nagano, however transportation wise would be more convenient to stay at Nagano station. The hotel is quaint and quiet with decent restaurants available within the building. Appreciate the flexibility to extend my stay for one night at Hotel Kokusai 21. Local drivers know the location of the building which is convenient for people who does not speak Japanese. Booked a room for 3, appreciated that the sofa bed was set up prior to arrival (some hotels only does this after you have reached, which increases waiting time.) Working fridge. Requested for a change in kettle and they provided one swiftly despite the language barrier. The hotel lobby is also a joy to walk into daily as they provide an exhibition of a samurai celebrating boy's day in Japan (5th May) with koi flags hanging at the back. A souvenir shop is also located within the lobby for last minute shoppers. Fun fact, this souvenir shop is not more expensive than at the train station.

The hotel is grand and the room is spacious. The items in the room are clean and the breakfast is rich. It is also close to Zenkoji Temple. Compared with the price, this hotel is worth recommending when traveling in Nagano City.

Overall, it feels like a domestic state guest conference hotel

This is a lovely hotel with friendly, helpful staff. My room was clean, quite spacious and had a beautiful view from the window. We ate in the restaurant there, Dono Dono, and had an excellent meal served by lovely staff. We had a 5 course meal and everything was delicious.

I felt this hotel was a breath of fresh air. Super friendly staff, really clean, good food and well located. You get what you pay for but I felt this was really good value for money especially considering other hotels we had stayed at in Japan on our trip

Affordable, nice breakfast and comfy beds

Hotel rooms are tired and a bit 1990s. Think physical key. Room very warm, and smallish. No safe. Breakfast room is tiny for place this size and could do with more lifts. Nice restaurants on site and in area.

I stayed in a deluxe type room in the tower building. The view was great, the room was spacious and I felt very relaxed. I was impressed with the cleanliness and amenities. Just one thing... It's best to have scented bath salts. Since the weather was bad, we went to the in-house Chinese restaurant Karin for dinner...it was very delicious and affordable, so we highly recommend it! Breakfast was a little crowded, but it was great! It was delicious.　　　　　 Highly recommended if you are coming by car! Zenkoji Temple is also within walking distance. thank you for helping me.

On the day, Zenkoji Temple was lit up, so the parking lot was crowded and we couldn't get in, but when we called they were able to help us right away.
