Lovely stay with lots of special touches. Friendly team and beautiful surroundings. Enjoyed our breakfasts but ate out at other times. Lots of lovely features around the cottages and very comfortable rooms. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend the Karen Blixen Cottages to anybody passing through Nairobi looking for a relaxing experience

Our lunchtime visit to Karen Blixen Coffee Garden was nothing short of amazing! 🌿✨ The ambiance was serene and picturesque, making it the perfect spot to relax and enjoy a meal. The food was delicious and beautifully presented, complementing the garden's tranquil charm. 🍴🌸 Whether you're looking for a peaceful escape or a delightful dining experience, this place truly delivers. We arrived very late due to flight and staff were very helpful and welcoming. They even offered to get us some food. The cottage we stayed in was very comfortable and clean. We had a large sitting area as well as bedroom and bathroom so plenty of space. Lovely grounds well kept. Breakfast were excellent and again staff helpful and friendly. We ate dinner in Hatton restaurant one night which was lovely and nothing was too much bother. The other night we ate in Babbettes which was again excellent. The following morning we had early rise for flight to Amboseli and when we opened cottage door the porter was waiting to take the luggage, also the staff gave as lovely picnic breakfast. This is an excellent place to stay in Nairobi.

The ambience and service are exemplary. Ali our waiter was amazing. Had excellent knowledge of the items being served and very passionate about his work. A true asset. Food was good but lacked adequate seasoning. Overall experience was good. Will come back. A little pricey overall. Was shocked with the price of wine

Beautiful restaurant, amazing ambience and the oh the food! Fantastic! We had the meat platter (for 4) and I highly recommend. Shout out to the person handling social media because that’s how I came across a photo of the meat platter on the instagram page and had to try it!

This was the first stop for our tour group on our visit to Kenya. It was a very safe, cool haven in such a busy, manic city. The gardens are lovely, the staff are friendly, the rooms are comfortable and very roomy. The meals were varied and well cooked. Close to all the tourist attractions in Nairobi. The wifi worked well which was great for catching up with family/friends at home. We had a little hiccup when it came to settling our bill on the last night but was all sorted in the end by the friendly lady at reception.

On our first day in Nairobi, we had lunch at the pretty Karen Blixen Coffee Garden and Cottages. Set in a gorgeous garden with jacaranda, bottle brush and other shady trees, we enjoyed our meal outdoors. It was adjacent to the upper-crust colonial ambience of the main building with a bar. The buffet was delicious, especially the lamb chops, the fish with lemon sauce, the local ugali with greens, and the mini-bite dessert spread. I wish there had been more Kenyan dishes on the buffet, though. The impeccable service of the Kenyan staff charmed us. They were polite, discerning and took care of our assorted requests. Personally, this meal was special to me because since I was a teenager, I have loved Karen Blixen's book, 'Out of Africa,' written under her pseudonym Isak Denisen.

We were in the honeymoon cabin - extremely large bathroom, sitting area, bed and desk - very nice and restful (quiet at night and morning). Restaurants were nice (and incredibly friendly service). We didn’t use it but there was a nice pool as well. The grounds had lots of flowers, trees, etc - truly a “garden” hotel. Staff were all incredibly friendly and a great source of local information.
