Carlisle House Inn

We had such a beautiful time here. My partner was a little too tall for the room, but the California Queen was a delight. Wonderful linens, beach bag and towel included, and so close to so many awesome experiences including the WHALING MUSEUM which is well worth the visit. A local tour guide knew exactly where we were staying and picked us up right outside the inn. He even brought a list of owner history. Short and lovely walks to historic sites, Shellfish Hatchery, the ferry, and of course shops and restaurants. I did have a little incident one night which got me to the hospital, but all the employees were understanding and accommodating. I loved the continental breakfasts. A healthy and relaxing start to the day. Fellow guests were lovely, we had a couple excellent chats over s’mores at the fire pit. Did some beespotting by the hydrangeas and enjoyed the birds as well. The stairs were steep up to the third floor, so we were very grateful for the outdoor ramp with a gorgeous courtyard view. We kept the windows open our entire stay. After long days trekking around we returned to ice cold cucumber and citrus waters in the lobby. Nantucket was out of our budget, but so worth the investment. I had so much fun chatting with local shopkeepers, visitor services, and historic society members who all love this little paradise so dearly. Whaling Museum will be changing up their exhibits in 2027 so expect us next time!

This is a lovely, historic hotel with beautifully appointed rooms, close walk to town, and easy access to restaurants. Breakfast included fresh berries and muffins. The Inn supplied extra beach towels (Frette) and chairs (all new). It was super easy to rent a Jeep with pick up and drop off at the hotel. The staff could not have been friendlier or more helpful. I would definitely stay at the hotel again! We all loved it.

Wonderful atmosphere! Five fabulous and private areas in this historic home to sit and relax, work, and just chill. We had the smallest room so these places different seating areas, each with their own vistas, were important. Lovely innkeeper that helped us find anything. Towels and fine beach chairs provided and just blocks to several different beaches. S'mores by the fire in the backyard. This felt like being entertained in a lovely home. Hope to return soon!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The Inn is conveniently located near town and within walking distance to Jetties Beach. The decor is authentically Nantucket. While an antique house, respectful recent updates make all the rooms feel fresh, comfortable and welcoming. Jeneane and team are always a step ahead---beach towels in a beach bag are already in the room upon arrival; beach chairs are available; should it rain, they offer umbrellas. When you return in the afternoon, the home-made chocolate chip cookies are ready for you. If you need a few hours to catch up with work, or finish a gripping novel, there are several charming and comfortable spots indoors and outdoors to perch. We will definitely be back!

We have become regulars at the Carlisle house. We usually stay in a large suite with its own private entrance and outdoor seating area -- the only quibble is the bathroom is small (other suites have larger baths). We have also stayed at the Wauwinet hotel for many years which, as a hotel, has more extensive amenities. However, we find the service here much friendlier and personable. The location is perfect; a few short blocks from Main Street so that it is convenient, but quiet. We plan to go back next Summer

We really enjoyed the hotel and staff, they were great, very accommodating and friendly. Would definitely go back and refer our friends to the Carlisle Inn.

Staying here was an absolute pleasure! The owner Jeneane and her staff were absolutely awesome. My wife and I stayed with our 3 kids in the Nantucket Suite which worked great for us. The room was beautifully decorated and I have to say the beds were more comfortable than any other hotel/Inn we have stayed at. We had some rain but the staff provided us will umbrellas to use. We went to the beach the inn had beach chairs and some beach toys for the kids to use. An absolute delight to stay here. We have already booked another trip with Jeneane for next year!!!

Perfect location, great hospitality, nice touches like evening smores and a wine fridge in the room. Very charming. An easy walk to all the shopping, the beach, the ferries, etc. A beach bag in each room has a towel--makes packing for the beach that much easier!
