If it is on the front, the scenery outside the window is very good. You can see the park hill designed by famous architects. The location is very convenient. Tram bus is very convenient for walking. Choosing here is also just one stop from the train station tram. I used to stay at this hotel for one night and I feel that I can book it here, but this time I feel very average. But there are very few options in Sheffield city centre. The waiters at the front desk of the hotel are very enthusiastic and some have a cold attitude. The most unhappy thing about this trip was housekeeping. The first day was not cleaned. I didn't clean it the next day. I saw that she was very polite and she helped clean it. The woman said that she went home after more than the time, she only worked for a while. When I checked out, my diarrhea was ten minutes late, and the cleaner directly made a dissatisfied voice to me. I was really angry. I didn't complain if I didn't clean my room. The front desk said she would tell her to clean but she did not. As for seeing that ibis will compensate for the breakfast offer, this is not at all. Really the first to see such a housekeeping. Ibis is also a well-known brand. Although the overall situation did not feel very bad, but 4.6 is a bit high.

Great location close to train station. Very clean modern hotel at a good price. Nice pretty chicks at the reception. Very comfortable bed and a great bathroom. Many attractions near the hotel. Snacks and drinks are available from the vending machine. There are code keys everywhere, which means that outsiders have limited opportunities to roam around the hotel. The only downside turned out to be that a room with a window means a room with a window to other windows from which other residents were staring.

Had a lovely stay but felt let down by several issues. Check in was nice & smooth with friendly staff. We had upgraded our room to a superior & it was lovely & clean but had very little storage, especially the bathroom. This wouldn’t have been a problem for 1 night but we stayed 4. The views from the floor to ceiling window were superb. Room servicing appears to have been stopped throughout the country now since covid & if that is to continue then I would suggest larger bins are provided. Surely over a 4 night stay it is not unreasonable to have the room serviced at least once. Our “king size” bed was in fact 2 singles pushed together with the ever present gap in the middle. The toilet paper was cheap & nasty & out of keeping with the rest of the hotel. Breakfast was buffet style, adequate & reasonable. The drinks menu said there was a “guest ale” & to enquire at the bar to see what is was & the price. When I asked what the “guest ale” was I was told it was CIDER. Location is no more than a 5 minutes walk from the railway station. Overall we had a vey enjoyable stay & would definitely stop again.

I did have issues whilst I was here, namely having to move room twice. The staff were so accommodating though that I was looked after well. The rooms could do with some work but it was warm, comfortable beds, hot running water and good food in the restaurant - although you ought to book because it can get quite busy with functions. The rooms on the back can be a bit noisy with the trains but not overly so. There is a fridge and hairdryer in each room and a desk if you need to work - but you can also do this in the bar. Good food and drink is served and the jacuzzi, pool, sauna and steam room are certainly worth a go - very relaxing. Breakfast is a huge buffet - worth the money to fill up for the day. Hotel location is fantastic - right in the middle of everything.

The hotel was very clean , the staff very polite and professional. We stayed at the hotel because we went to see a stand up comedian in Newcastle that night and thought it would be nice not to have to drive home afterwards . We choose this hotel as the pictures looked great online and looked just as good when we got there . We would definitely stay there again if having a night out in Newcastle

I stayed 4 nights as part of a National Coach Holiday trip, with Bed Breakfast and Evening meal included in the package. The location of the hotel and the communal areas cannot be faulted, and all areas were very clean. The staff were helpful and friendly. The big disappointment was being told that we could not get our evening meal until 7.30pm. We had to pre book from a 3 course menu on arrival and subsequently each evening. 7.30 pm was late for a lot of us, being of a mature age! Also service was badly planned as the waiting staff came out and went round the room asking who was having which dish. This not only took a lot of time and also some people forgot what they had pre -ordered. With 3 courses to serve we did not finish until 9pm. This is not the waiting staff's fault, but bad management practice. However on the fourth night, all was chaos. two more coach parties had been booked in and there was mayhem, and a near riot in the dining room with about 160 people trying to get seated. it was after 8pm before service started, again not the fault of the staff. A lady on our table did not get her starter at all. I think she was quite relieved as Bruschetta does not consist of a lump of soggy brown bread, a roughly chopped tomato, some thick slices of onion, and the half dead and wilted salad greens which were served with most meals. No apology from the management. Breakfast was excellent. The rooms were a good size and were clean, but the bathroom was shabby, chipped bath and basin and a toilet seat that was not very secure. The beverage station did not get replenished until Thursday, and the dirty mugs did not get replaced throughout our stay. The. basin tap broke on Thursday morning, which I reported, but it did not get fixed. Can't fault the staff, but working practice and management leave a lot to be desired. Thank goodness for my fellow travellers, whose friendship and brilliant sense of humour made it all worthwhile. Also thanks to National Coach Holidays and our driver.

I use a wheelchair & my daughter is my carer. So had an accessible room on the ground floor. We also had our dog with us. I have to say that all the staff across the board from top to bottom are so amazing. They are kind, caring, helpful and make time to listen if you need them. The breakfast is always fresh, hot & tasty. The room is always spotlessly clean & the bed is so comfortable. I would recommend this particular hotel to anyone. You are made to feel welcome & respected by every member of staff. Will return in the future, no question about it. A huge thank you to each & every member of the team. You are all amazing. Overall I very much enjoyed my stay here with the exception of breakfast which I will come back to in a moment. The hotel is so beautifully situated overlooking the water and one can have a lovely walk along the shore to the beach. Staff were very friendly and helpful at all times. My room was clean and had everything needed including a good view. Evening meal of cod and chips was excellent. The only big disappointment was breakfast. I asked for vegetarian sausage but was told I would have to wait 20 minutes (and I was in a hurry to get to a meeting so could not wait) so opted for other vegetarian things which were very poor indeed - tinned tomatoes, rubbery tasteless muchrooms and rather sweet baked beans. I then wanted decaff coffee but all they had was a tin of instant. Breakfast standard could be much improved but other than this, I enjoyed the hotel very much.

FFranfromivegillCannot best the location!!!! Trolley push out of the doors and into the hotel ( or vice versa). No worry about taxi or transfer. Restaurant OK but suffers from the same ailment of so many…. Blinking awful coffee!!!! Also those awful mugs …. I have said before….. I have taken to bringing my own decent mug to drink out of. I ate in the bar last time - similar menu ( same prices) but no booking of a table required. Just got to put up with TV with constant noise or sport…… They let me leave my luggage while I drop off or pick up a hire car…. About 10 minutes walk away. Always my first choice.

GGuest UserThis hotel is not a place to stay for more than two nights. They do not clean your room and provide replenished supplies. You have to ask every time you need something, tissues toilet paper milk tea coffee clean towels soap. It is an hotel with many rooms but it seems as though there are only four disabled parking places close to the front of the hotel the last couple of nights the two disabled parking spaces were filled by expensive Porsches that did not display blue badges. Seems they think they can do what they like The parking is monitored by parking eye. Be careful as you may end up with a hefty parking charge from ******* like them It gets very noisy at the weekends, ask for ear plugs and they look at you stupid. Generally they could save a fortune by turning the hot water temperature down and using thermostatic mixer taps. The aircraft noise starts between 6am and 7 am. There seems to be a lot of secrecy you have to ask for menu’s then get told where to get it Be a good idea if they had menus in the rooms.food not bad reasonable price but would have liked menu in rooms Interesting caveats you don’t get a refund if you have a covid related issue or if Ukraine causes problems but they do not have any protocol’s in place about social distancing. The lifts are a free for all and there are no notices about about who should be in the lift . I think the rated capacity is 10 or 75 kg. I would like to see limits on lift capacity and stopping un related people entering the lifts. Three times I told people I did not want to share the lift but they still piled in so I left. One way to prevent this would be to not have interrupted journeys if you get in on floor 2 and want to go to ground floor do not stop at level 1. They seem to be more concerned with their profits than customer safety or protection. You can get rooms cheaper on other websites than their own checkin Would I be going back? ?? Not 100% sure yet but 99.99% I won’t be returning

GGuest UserThis was a fabulous stay All Staff are a credit to the hotel, with spacious rooms, cleanliness top notch, everything you could need and require in your room, so many items that you would not even realise you would need was in the room, I liked the fact had a small functioning kitchen with hob and dishwasher, a recliner sofa to watch TV from, even tissue on the coffee table, instructions for the appliciances, cleaning products and safe... When I say they have thought of Everything I meant it! It like home from home. The Rooms were comfortable, beds were a great size and so comfortable, very clean and fresh linens, big bathroom, good view from the floor we stayed on, breakfast was buffet style but well thought out and food fresh and hot, staff attendance was good ratio and they were attentive and very cheerful and helpful, also parking was a good price as well. I was also impressed with the fact of small details like a 24hr pantry shop which perfect for family guests, quieter seating/dining area for guests who don't have children, children area, radio on for a cheerful breakfast experience. Lots of little details and extras is what made our stay a good one, we will definitely use the hotel again, 1 million percent I'd recommend this hotel to others as well, keep doing what you do because your smashing it! And all at a good fair price as well!! A must try!

GGuest UserWe are in the IHG club and have therefore stayed at other Indigo hotels. This was our first visit to Newcastle. We got off to a bad start because when I tried to phone the hotel prior to our arrival I was put into an endless loop which didn't get anywhere. I eventually had to contact Indigo Central who had the same problem getting through. Someone from the hotel did then contact me however and apologised that there were issues with the telephone system. Not a good first impression however. The other issue we had was with the room cards which I had to have re-calibrated a total of five times in the two days we were there. We were eventually told that if we kept them in the same pocket as a mobile phone or in its vicinity this would stop the card working. This is not an issue that we recall having had elsewhere. The room was modern and comfortable, as was the bathroom. We found the mattress to be on the hard side. There were plenty of plugs, there was adequate lighting and a room safe. Tea, coffee and biscuits were provided as was a fridge with bottled water. We ate in the hotel on our first night and found the food to be very good. We had been confused that within the hotel itself there were signs referring to a Marco Pierre White restaurant, but it turned out that this had closed. The restaurant is now the Grainger. There was a good choice of self-service breakfast, and also a cooked menu. So the positives outweigh the negatives, and we would probably stay here again if we came back to Newcastle.

GGuest UserWell what a little gem of a Hotel. Beautiful location right next to the Castle and near the Quayside. We had a lovely stay, the Staff were fantastic! So helpful and polite and friendly and very very professional. We felt very special and looked after. The hotel is spotlessly clean and our room was lovely. We didn't have any meals there except for breakfast which was tasty and there was plenty of options, the Staff in there again were very lovely and attentive. Saying all this a couple of little niggles the Hotel was so hot! To be fair the weather was beautiful when we were there but there is no air conditioning in the building. I do appreciate it is an older building and it's not always possible to install Air Con Units but a few fans scattered around would have made it a bit more bearable in the public areas . There was a fan provided in our bedroom which was very welcome as the sun facing the windows all day ! We also found the bed not very comfortable, the mattress was too hard for our liking but then this may suit other people so it's not a criticism really of the Hotel more our preference to have a softer mattress. All in all we Would definitely go back to this hotel but I think I would go in the colder months.

GGuest UserDear All, Grey's st Hotel a Grade 11 listed building Slap bang in the center of the City where I cut my teeth in Life, It had been over 25 years since I was in that part of Me Toon, All the Family had come together for My Loves 60th Birthday, From Australia to Shropshire We gathered and Met up at this Jewel of a find, Our stay was for 3 neets (Nights for the non Geordie's) And From the off were not disappointed The rooms were spacious, clean and tidy, The Hotel itself with a lot of original features still there, history literally on the walls, Inside and oot (out) Although My City has changed a huge amount even in My Lifetime, What will never Change are its People Which is where the Hotels staff get a mention, Young Amy & Liam, On Front of House were exemplary, Professional, Polite, beyond helpful but they key was ”tha banta” two young ones with big smiles and even bigger kind hearts, For going the extra mile setting up Wor Lasses(The Mrs) Birthday cake surprise, I can't tank You enough, Us Geordie's are a Proud, hard working lot, We know how to graft and we certainly know how to let our hair doon (down), My city's History goes way back beyond The Roman Empire, Sat on the banks of the Tyne and to this Day is a Jewel that shines bright, Al (All)) the Staff at Grey's st thank You for helping to have made this trip a memory that No One in my Family will ever Forget. 🖤🤍XXX Ps To our Friend across the Pond Gumdrop216, Comparing My City to a srip in the Dessert that's only 80 years old😂, You should try reading a little before making comments that are uneducated, But funny like Where would the World be without a bit of Banta. GGuest UserI was nervous about staying here after all the reviews, but actually wasn't as bad as some of the reviews I'd read! Yes the hotel is very dated, it has the look and feel of a 70s/80s type hotel. It could do with new carpets, furniture a lick of paint, but it was clean. The bedding smelt clean and looked it, no marks etc. Bathroom was also clean and had amenities such as shampoo, shower gel. We didn't eat there so cannot comment on food (took the 2min drive along to The Badger) We had an early morning flight so checked in 630pm and checked out by 6am. It did us just fine I genuinely can't complain, I paid £55 for a room and 8 nights parking!
