Kings Hotel

Stayed here as we went to the races. Staff very friendly especially Adam who really helped with sorting out a ground floor room with me being pregnant. Racecourse 5 minutes away with a free shuttle which was perfect. Music does go on late but we knew this so we would not complain and you can’t hear much in your room. Food also very good. Overall a great experience and would come back

Stayed & ate. Situated perfectly just off the high street.. Rooms are well equipped, tidy and comfortable. Hotel has lovely decor, pretty outside area with ample seating. nice friendly relaxing & trendy. We stayed over Easter weekend and got treated to 2 free discos.. great atomsphere.. Would definitely recommend! Food was very nice & well Presented. Cannot fault any of it.

dont go if you want to have a drink of an evening and chill out, never before have been told at 9.50 pm that the last orders for a drink is 10pm and that the you have 30 mins to drink up and move out of the bar . and the manager actually parked his self on a chair and hovered over us at 10.40 pm and told us he wanted us to move oyt of the bar . so dont think i will be staying again

Booked last minute as we were coming up to Duxford Air show. Very reasonable price. Although the room was small with very large bed, it was very clean and tidy. The shower and toilet were also very clean. We used the hotel only as a base and stayed 2 nights. We didn't use the restaurant, we were given a parking pass as I'm disabled the only downside was on 2nd night a non blue badge person had taken the bay but we were allowed to double park until another bay became vacant. Thankyou for that. This hotel is in a good central location, our top tip for the hotel would be sort out the car park with designated bays as some cars took up a space and half, you could easily accommodate more.

Stayed here for a single night for work. I booked a twin room but got a single economy. This was the smallest room I have ever seen for a hotel. As I was away with work I wanted to do some work on my laptop but the room had no chair or desk so was unable to. I did ask to move and the staff were nice but was told there is no other available rooms. The bathroom consisted of a separate toilet and shower in their own room just big enough for each. The bedroom door had a gap all round and the light from outside would shine in from the corridor. Not sure how this would comply with fire regs but every time someone opened a door to outside which was the adjacent door my door would rattle. This happened most of the night from 10pm until I left at 6am after very little sleep. The hotel had a flood light that was outside the hotel and illuminated all night the curtain did a poor job at blocking the Light and this also illuminated the room. The bed was comfortable and clean and let’s face it unless I was in the toilet or shower room I was in the bed as there was no other room. Probably the worse experience I have ever had on a hotel stay and I’ll be looking a lot closer at reviews in future. I’ve driven 300 miles today after a days work and around 2 hours of broken sleep.

The smallest room I've ever stayed in and far too over priced. Dirty toilet on arrival with food on the floor outside the room next door ,the food was still there the following morning when I left. Suitable for a small jockey not a 6ft man. I wouldn't recommend or use again.

We were attending a party in Newmarket and just wanted a reasonable cost room for the night. Pleasantly surprised for the price. Room had everything we could need and was clean and fresh. Useful items provided, especially if you were staying longer, such as microwave, toaster, fridge, plates etc. Plenty of tea bags, coffee, milk. Hairdryer, ironing board, iron. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Central location with a taxi rank just across the road which suited us to get to and from the party. We would definitely return if we visit Newmarket again.

Stayed for 2 nights, not cheap (over £200 per night without breakfast) but admittedly in the middle of Newmarket but was like being in a student bedsit. and our room looked like one too. Very scruffy and not at all like the pictures online show or maybe you pay more for a better room but we were not told this when we booked, even though we were told we had a balcony but we didn’t as were on the ground floor. I went to speak to woman on reception and about 4 members of staff and the receptionist were smoking with door open by reception (not a good sight for a customer). We left a please clean my room sign on door, only really to top up teabags and coffee but nobody cleaned our room and we were out all day on both days we were in Newmarket. I know hotels get booked up when racing is on but I would have rather driven home both nights than to have stayed there but was too late as already had paid our money. Just research hotels before you commit as this really wasn’t a good experience and I always read reviews before I decide to book but unfortunately ignored the bad reviews on here
