Motel 6 Newport, TN

We came here from New Jersey, July 5th an 10 hour drive for my aunts funeral. The room was the nastiest room ever, we had to get another hotel which we has to spend more money that we didn't have, we still have not heard from management going on 2 weeks tomorrow. Please rectify this problem, have pictures

Me and my family had to stay a little over a month here while our house was being remodeled this place is infested with fleas and cockroaches the floors was nasty sheets and pillow cases was stained and had cigarette burns we only got clean sheets twice never got clean towels the cigarette smoke was bad dirty needles laying outside they would never clean them up the housekeeper Lisa cussed my 2 year old granddaughter because she cried when her mom would leave for work and it’s wasn’t small cuss words either it GD this and F that it’s full over heavy drug users and always smelled like ********* the pool was nasty they never clean it or even check the levels in it the main girl posha was rude and tried to scam people her boyfriend or husband Josh was amazing he was very nice

When I checked in they charged me an extra $10 and my room was nasty then I didn't get any sleep for all the noise upstairs. They are eat up with fleas and cockroaches there was an used needle laying outside that people said it had been there for days then they tried to charge me another $10 to swim for 2 hours after I cleaned the pool myself

I’m not big into bad reviews but I value the honest opinion of others so here are my observations. 1-You get what you pay for. A cheap hotel with extremely limited perks which include Wifi that sometimes works, a pool that has water in it, a single bar of soap, a refrigerator (that actually works-but no microwave or coffee maker) two towels and hot water in the showers. 2- Decent guest services. But NO room service. If you need towels or…anything, you have to ask front desk. There isn’t even a blow dryer in The room. 3- The walls are made of paper. Could hear everything from the front desk people talking as they pass the day, to the dogs barking and the couple having a heated argument in the main lobby. 4- The homeless guy apparently is a regular. So just step over him. 5- Marijana smells also goes through the paper thin walls. 6- Cleanish sheets and floors. But don’t expect much more. Also, Don’t look look too closely at the air vents or wonder about the scratched paint above the bed frame. 7- The best part was the genuine spring loaded beds.

Absolutely filthy, broken ice machines, bugs in stairwells , holes in comforter's, broken or missing wall socket covers. I could go on and on.

Have been staying at this location since 2007. After 2 years of not visiting due to COVID, I was extremely disappointed on this visit. The lobby doesn't feel welcoming. You are instructed to push a "find" button on a telephone handset at the front desk. After several minutes of waiting, I was greeted by a gentleman who suddenly appeared from another room. One of our two rooms failed to have a working light upon entering a dark room. Another switch tried to turn on a malfunctioning light that continued to look as though an electrical fire was possible. In the poorly painted bathroom (you could actually see wide streaks of unpainted wall) the very loose toilet seat made you feel as if you were going to land on the floor. No drain stopper or plug was available for the sink. The second room had no electrical problems but did show signs of extreme wear. Hardly worth $115 for each room. Will consider other options next time I'm in the area.
