We were just on a day trip to Newquay and stumbled across this place whilst looking for somewhere to have lunch. The views were amazing. The food was great and there was plenty of it. Josh was very helpful and friendly. We would definitely go back.

Cheap as chips in the off season. Rooms small. Bed small. A maze of corridors. Needs a bit of updating but nice enough. Not much more to say really. Would come again for a short business visit but Newquay in January is ‘quiet’. Not that much more to say really

Was a bit shocked arriving at the hotel as the front is tatty and weather-worn. Inside reception and making our way up the stairs didn't do anything to allay our fears. However once we got to our room our spirits lifted, it was very clean, comfortable, well appointed, bright and modern. It also had fantastic views out to sea and of the Western beach. We stayed for 3 nights, the bed was comfortable and overall it was quiet, although we could hear people talking in the next room. Downstairs there is a large bar/restaurant with fantastic views out to sea, in the end we ate there every night. Can't fault the food and the staff where all friendly and efficient. We thoroughly enjoyed our 3 night stay at The Great Western, just a shame that New Quay itself appears shabby and run down.

Just called in for a beer and bite to waste a couple of hours as the winds were blowing too hard to walk the cliffs. The 56 bus to the airport leaves outside. The bar and snack area has possibly the best views of the headland and beach of anywhere close to downtown. The rooms look good value too.

Both been feeling pretty poorly with chest infections making us feel down. Picked up loaner car from the garage, turned left not right, spur of the moment 4 hour drive to our favourite place. No change of clothes but a warm welcome and the world's a better place. Can't recommend highly enough

Good clean room and bathroom, good bed to sleep in Bit dated and in need of update and freshen up but staff great and a good breakfast with plenty of choice, full english good sets you right up for the day. Pĺeasant stay overall. Great views from the dining room.
