Porth Veor Manor Villas & Apartments

Two bedroom apartment was amazing. With a fully functional kichen with everything you will need. Plenty of space with a three piece suite and a dining room table. Each area including the bedrooms has double patio doors leading out into a small private seating area. There two toilet rooms, one with a shower and one with a bath. One parking space is allocated to each apartment with more available on request. There is also a small swimming pool directly outside the apartment, with a barrier round it to stop kids falling in. Might be worth asking if they provide child gates for the stairs as the sleeping area is downstairs and the top of the stairs are just at the side of the front door as you go into the apartment. The beach is 2 minutes walk and the town centre around 25 minutes which is a pleasant walk along the side of the beach. I was working in the area but wouldn't think twice about staying here with my family.

Stayed in garden villa. Very high standard of decor and cleanliness. Comfortable beds, warm and inviting. Small criticism - as a self catering apartment we had 1 small Pyrex bowl and nothing else to cook in the oven eg baking tray, casserole dish etc. No sieve for draining veg. Would I return? 100%

The property is within walking distance to the beach. Adequate parking space. Quiet. The apartment was clean. Furniture was old but decent. Sofas and sofa-bed looked pretty new though. We arrived at around 9:30 pm and it was pretty dark and it took us a while to find the apartment as there was nobody at the office to show us. Since the apartment we rented at the back near the car park, there was no views of anything.

We felt the property needs ipdared furniture both in our villa and in the hotel public areas.

When booking it said on the description that the room had a balcony but after checking my booking they said it did not. They had no balcony rooms left. That was a little disappointing however it did not put us off booking. Prior to leaving home we took lateral Flow tests just to ensure we were not taking covid down to Cornwall and they came back clear, as was my conscience. We arrived super early and parked our car there. We informed reception and they were fine as long as it was not a numbered space as they were reserved. Just before 8pm we arrived back to check in and went to our room, no. 22 Superior deluxe double. It was at the top of the hotel, up 3 flights of stairs, no problem for us, but would be for people was limited mobility as there was no lift and the final staircase very steep and narrow. We entered our room and were genuinely shocked, its beautiful. It looks like it has recently been refurbished with new furniture etc, we had a velvet sleigh bed, wardrobe with plenty of dressing space, large TV, settee and coffee table, further drawers and tea and coffee making facilities. There was an ironing board, clothes horse, hairdryer and some toiletries. The shower was huge and had really good pressure, the bed super comfy and the duel aspect windows with beach views superb. Breakfast was very tasty, with good quality local produce, not greasy and friendly breakfast staff that also bought you tea/ coffee, fruit juices, toast. The location is a little out of the way of Newquay itself, about a 15-20 minute walk, not bad for us but could be a problem to others however there is not alot in Porth I.e. restaurants for an evening meal. The hotel restaurant is closed, which we were unaware of until shortly before we arrived so either had to go to the Mermaid (average at best) or into Newquay itself. You can get a cab from reception to Newquay for £7. There is a bar at the hotel but hardly saw anyone in there, you can get crisps and cake from the bar if you fancy a snack. The bartender told me it's usually busier when the restaurant is open. There is a small swimming pool outside of reception, this seemed to be used by self catering apartments mainly. People in the pool were having fun which was great. Overall I cannot give it 5 stars as it was not perfect but we really enjoyed our stay and would return and would recommend it to others.

We stayed in a garden view apartment (2 adults/2 children ages 1 & 2) was ideal for us away from the pool so we could relax without been on edge around the pool even though this has a fence all around it the gate is left open quite a lot by other children in and out of the pool, the garden gave space for the kids to run around. The apartment is set over 2 floors, was clean and modern. The outdoor pool is heated so we used this on a few occasions. I requested a cot and high hair prior to our arrival and these were provided at no additional charge (we took a cot mattress) The apartment has 1 bedroom/ bathroom with shower/ down stairs toilet/ sofa bed if required… does say sky sports on the website but we didn’t have this. I did check with reception who were going to send maintenance the following day but I didn’t hear anything but this didn’t ruin our holiday. The hotel had this as it was in the welcome book for hotel guests but not in the garden apartment packs. Other members of our party stayed in the pool villas and hotel. Pool villas- more dated but more roomy… areas of maintenance like bathroom mould required Hotel room- as above The hotel only serves breakfast no other food options are available which wasn’t a problem to us in the apartments but those in the hotel felt disappointed by this as not only no other food options but not even a fridge in their rooms (since covid they haven’t restarted doing any further food) Hotel bar we spent some time in there, mainly managed by the same member of staff that’s on reception. The carpets could do with a deep clean as Childrens feet/socks were black after spending time in the bar area. Overall the garden villas were definitely the best decision and others wished they had booked them. We would return to the garden villas and hope they get more facilities back up and running as would bring the venue more to life again

Truly a gem of a place. This is our third time visiting and we’ve booked again for next summer already! The villas are perfect and the heated pool is fabulous. Staff are friendly & helpful. Location is perfect. We couldn’t ask for anything more!

The check in process was really good. We received communication the day before with codes and how to get into the property. Loved having a dedicated parking spot. The property was spacious and clean. Loved the big soaker tub and huge bath towels. We didn’t use the kitchen but it was great to have and seemed well stocked. It was a really nice touch to have hot chocolate and biscuits as well as tea there available for us. Would definitely recommend and come back
