Strangford Arms Hotel

Location a bit far from the city but the hotel was good and near some big shops

Nice hotel. Staff were friendly. Alesha on reception excelled in her job and was very helpful and knowledgeable. Beds comfy and rooms adequate. Food was of good quality. However. noisy guests in a room nearby spoilt our stay. The night porter apparently could not intervene and when asking management for a reduction in the room, answered by saying it wasn't their fault. Partying till 6am is not my fault either so what's the point in a night porter. Unfortunately we won't be back due to this.

We decided to stay here are we were visiting friends nearby. Room was great: super clean, decorated nice, spacious. We were not impressed with food and service: We couldn't eat in hotel as there was no space. We were not only residents who couldn't eat. Perhaps tables could be held for hotel residents? 24hr resident bar doesn't exist. We asked to get a drink when we came back and were told the bar was not available by night staff. Breakfast food was poor quality, and not much of it. Fruit in bowl was moldy. Selection limited. Staff serving were rude, one lady joking with the other that she just puts food down and if they have a problem tough. Facilities nice. Food/staff disappointing.

Had an excellent meal in La Winters Restaurant last Wed night...Lots of choice on the menu....The place was very quiet but the food was great..Its a pity more people dont use this restaurant...they dont know what they are missing...Hope to be back soon

Had a cheap and cheerful wee night away to celebrate our belated anniversary! Was £49.50 pp - an absolute steal for a perfectly fine wee room and very decent and filling breakfast! We chose to also dine that evening in Le Winters - my Husband had the lamb,I'd the duck,we both had lemon cheesecake too & all of this was to die for! So rich and tasty! Heading to my friends in Ards to stay for a week on Tue and will definitely be calling in for grub- I seen that kids eat free if an adult eats too!! Looking forward to it! Thank you to the hotel and restaurant staff! Ps this hotel is unbelievably handy to the shopping centre and Ards Blair Mayne Spa if you fancy any retail therapy or relaxing!! I did both!!

Stayed here one night for Business as it is close to the office I needed to go to. Check in and out was quick and efficient. The room as well as the rest of the hotel was nicely decorated and looks like it has recently been done. In the room itself was a large comfy bed, work desk and plenty of space for clothes. Bathroom spacious with a good shower over the bathtub and toiletries provided. Plenty of hot water. Tea and coffee in the room as well. Room was at the back so didn't hear a sound from the main road. Also had an opening window to let some fresh air in The room had reasonably fast and free wifi which is a godsend these days where all and sundry want to charge for it - they should realise its a necessary tool for the business traveller. Ate in the attached bistro. reasonable value for money and the starter was excellent but the main course was overdone for my taste. Bar prices reasonable but there's a Wetherspoons nearby as they don't do real ale (turn right out of the front door of the Bistro and walk for 200m) Breakfast room is not obvious as to where it is, but there was a good selection of cereals and full cooked breakfast to order which was of good quality unlike some I have had in hotels. All in all a good hotel and recommended if you don't need to be in the centre of Belfast but the morning traffic to get into the centre is horrendous - I'm glad I was not driving! Shall be there again next time I have to be in Belfast rather than stopping in the faceless chain hotels in the centre.

Worst hotel I ever stayed in one staff member in particular was extremely horrible I believe her name was Madeline or Maddison can’t remember, compared to the price the hotel was below standard only positive was the rooms were spotless but that didn’t help much when looking at the entire experience as a whole.

Stayed here 2 nights in May and booked their self catering room which is a house located a few doors down from the main hotel. It was 2 nice room house and had full kitchen with a small fridge. We rented out an event room in the main hotel for a function and the service and food was great. Would recommend if looking to stay in North Down/East Belfast area.

Overall this isn't a bad hotel and money had been spent here. Not bad rooms, public areas nice, nice food in the restaurant and great service For me, my visit was tainted at what you see beyond the pictures. The reception image doesn't reflect the grim pebble concrete of a modern extension or the face my room faced a wall with little or no natural light and very stuffy. In my view, this room shouldn't be let out. Images attached which show this. Honestly it's quite good, just don't stay in room 206
