Hotels in Gambetta, Nice

Super well located hotel, for whom comes from the airport metro is 2min from a stop, is also 2min from the margin. Very comfortable bed and coats 🥰 Excellent breakfast 👌🏻 breakfast coffee machines are available all day for us to serve 😊 Cleaning could be better, it is the only less positive point. If you return to Nice will be a choice to consider again 😊

The hotel was visited after 20 hours when the hotel was no longer in service. Five days before arrival, a letter was written to the hotel, translated into French through the Yandex translator, asking to explain how the settlement process was going on in such a case. A few days later, we received the answer that on the day of arrival we will send a letter with detailed instructions on this. On the day of arrival about six hours before the planned arrival, they recalled themselves and wrote another letter, which was answered a couple of hours later where the algorithm of action was scheduled. There were many negative moments in the reviews with the work of magnetic locks on the doors, but on the first floor where we got the number, there are new doors with ordinary locks that lock on the key. Instead of the balcony in the rooms on the first floor there is an exit right on the parking lot at the hotel. The room equipment was: teapot, drop-off coffee machine, toaster, two-comfortable stove, mini-washing (sometimes very noisy, so to include it for the night is not recommended), microwave, TV and refrigerator. In the bathroom there is a fan. The air conditioner, when settled, worked on heating, in the room was +24 degrees at a temperature on the street +12. The bathroom is spacious but with nuances: The water from the shower is poured straight on the floor and goes through the trap into the plum as the consequence is always a lot of spray. To remove the extra water from the cpfel in the bathroom there is a swab with a water spray. Beds are narrow, but we, in principle, had enough space. Matracs as almost everywhere in France are tough, lingerie clean. The rosetock in the room is enough, there are two closets, a couple of shelves, a big table behind which you can have dinner in the four. In general, a great budget option for holidays on the Lazur coast of France.

We were greeted by a smiley and friendly receptionist (sorry for not remembering his name, Algerian guy), he was very nice and even gave us the beach towel without cost 😍 The location is really good as we were close to beach and at the same time could walk to anywhere. Easily could take the tram to airport as well. The room didn’t have any coffee machine/kettle, hair dryer, mini fridge…but it was kind of mentioned in the room description, so nothing to complain. For us the cleanness was important which it was being cleaned everyday.

The rooms in this hotel were clean and the bed large and comfortable, our shower was either freezing or scalding, we couldn’t get the temperature right at all and we had no shower gel, which admittedly we didn’t ask to get filled as we thought the cleaning staff would check it. The decor is a bit dated throughout the hotel which could really do with brightening up a bit. The breakfast room particularly was very tired and brown, we would have liked to have eaten outside but the small garden area seemed to only cater for smokers. We took our coffee outside a couple of mornings and the tables were dirty and the ashtrays full from the night before. The pool area is lovely with amazing views but loungers are reserved very early and are limited in number, several times we went for a swim after a long hot day around 4pm and there was nothing available except seats set up for dining. The pool was a good temperature and lovely to swim in, if a bit small. There was an apparently new system in place for pool towels and we hadn’t been given tokens on check in. We weren’t asked for them the first day and got towels no problem, the second day the staff refused to give us towels despite us having our room keys with us. We had to go all the way to reception to get them and then we overheard other people getting them without tokens - so the system doesn’t work very well! I asked reception if my daughter who was staying in Nice could join us one day at the pool and was happy to pay a fee for this. I was given a very blunt no in answer to this question by a rude receptionist, the rest of the reception staff were very polite. I understand this may not have been possible but a polite no would have been preferred. When we were waiting to leave we heard several people complaining loudly they couldn’t get into their rooms and were being told check in is ‘From’ 3pm and not ‘At’ 3pm so beware of this, some people waited an hour to get into their rooms. We stayed in 3 different hotels in France and this was our most expensive and least favourite.

The location is very good. It is only 5 minutes away from the Caspian Sea. You can watch the sunrise and sunset. There are also some restaurants and cafes around. The single room is much larger than the room. The toilet is much brighter and more refined. It meets the needs of single living. The staff is available 24 hours a day. , But the wifi is not very good. Generally recommended

This hotel by far exceeded our expectations. The price is unbeatable, the studio is fresh and well equipped. We had a small balcony and there’s also the patio upstairs. Very close to the sea too. All you can ask for, really. Kind and accommodating staff.

The location is very good, close to the train station, very clean, the overall style is very distinctive, historical buildings, and the service is also very good. Relaxed and comfortable, there are several French restaurants with good value for money nearby.

We stayed here in July. Booked two rooms - a superior room facing the promenade and a regular room with a city view. The sea facing room had a fantastic view but very tiny. The regular room was on the 5th floor. Had views of the mountains/hills and was massive. I was so worried prior to checking in given the bad reviews here. I noticed though that for some reason most Nice hotels have bad reviews! I had nothing to worry about at all. We arrived before 2PM and had our room right away. No issues with rude staff whatsoever. And no noise issues with the sea-facing room either. The only issue is it's a bit of a walk to the Old Town and the train station (uphill and doing this twice a day is quite tiring). But seriously I was in Nice for a week and I don't think I'll trade his hotel for any other hotel. Nice, further up closer to the train station, wasn't quite as ”charming and lovely” as having views of the promenade.

We stayed here for our last day in Europe before returning to Canada. The hotel staff were wonderful. We arrived on a Sunday and were given the last room. It turned out to be huge by Europe standards with a balcony. The hotel seems to be recently upgraded. They arranged a driver for a 5 am airport ride. The location is great- right near the old Town a d the scenic beach walk with the legendary blue beach chairs of Nice.

Nice hotel, rooms are small but adequate (recommend it for couples or solo), breakfast is basic but good enough. The old town, marina and promenade are all easily accessible (couple minutes of walk), and the area around the hotel is filled with restaurants, bars etc. This might be the only downside, it was very noisy in the party ‘rush hour’ but if you are looking for night life, this hotel is right by the center of it. Overall a very positive experience.
