The hotel is well placed for easy access to the main train station, though around 30 minutes walk into the old town. The former was especially useful for trips to other places along the coast including Monaco. Our room was a good size, with a small entrance area to leave any shoes or bags. The bed was a good size and also comfortable. The bathroom had a reasonable shower with a window nearby. On opening the window, the internal plastic edging came away which we then left to the side, however, staff repaired this the next day. Breakfast was a mixture of yoghurt, cereal, pasties and some cooked items, with very good coffee available at all times of the day. Any pastries left over at breakfast were also available later in the day, which was nice if you wanted something small to eat between meals. The dining area doubled up as the lobby, which we felt got busy easily, making the area crowded during breakfast, and somewhat cramped, with little space either side of us. This was the only downside to the hotel, and not something that can easily be changed.

My wife and I are on our honeymoon, during which we are staying in many places in France and Italy. We were very impressed with the reception we received by the woman at the front desk, and everyone has been incredibly nice to us. This is a big surprise as people have generally been very rude to us during this trip so far. We love the Matisse art on the walls of the staircase and the room is decorated beautifully. Unfortunately after settling into the room, we realized the air conditioner was not operational and the water pressure in the shower was so low that we couldn’t have proper showers. We tried to get past these issues but the room became way too hot overnight and we were unable to get a good sleep. The next morning we received an email from the hotel asking how our stay was going. I mentioned these issues and they called our room within 15 minutes and advised us they would upgrade us in the next hour to a superior room. This was a much better resolution than we expected and we are incredibly pleased. We would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for an affordable stay in Nice, and to anyone who is hoping to be treated as a paying customer should be treated (unfortunately not a luxury you will find throughout most of France). The rooms also have fridges, which is not something we’ve seen yet during our trip. This is really helpful as we prefer to bring groceries back to our room instead of significantly overpaying at restaurants. The deal they have with the parking lot nearby is great as well, since every place we’ve been thus far has completely shaken us down for parking. The views of the cathedral next door are beautiful too. Beds and pillows are comfortable and the room was nice and clean. Highly recommended!

I've just spent 5 nights and the Best Western Cosy in Nice and here's the lowdown the hotel is located a stones throw from Nice station so perfect if you need to be close to the station. It is not so perfect if you are in Nice just to see the sights, as they are mostly in the Old Town, 20 minute walk away. The hotel is cosy with good wifi and good shower, and the staff all speak English. As for as the breakfast, it was on the low end of average for a hotel of this grade. It was pretty standard mass produced stuff and there wasn't even fresh fruit. We stayed in the middle of April, which I am am sure you can expect gets a bit warm in the south of France. The A/C remote had been removed from the room, and when I asked was told that the whole A/C system was being 'refurbished'. When I asked if I could use a fan they said 'no'. A strange time of year to service A/C, so what I think is happening is that they are trying to extend the season when they aren't forced into using A/C in order to save money. As you can imagine the rooms were hot, and opening the window wasn't exactly a solution as it is very close to the station with a lot of street noise and late night people milling around. So before you book try to ascertain the A/C situation. Good luck!
