Holiday Inn Express Lexington-SW (Nicholasville)

I would say the property manager REFUSED to make contact after calling and finding out my reservation was cancelled and then wanting to charge me more a night . I get there on 10/6 the people at the front desk were nice , the room are not horrible but not great , the pillows were to soft, you could not get a comfortable temp in the room you would be either to hot or to cold,the toilets sit soo low it was like your sitting on the floor where had issues sitting on it and getting up it reminded me of being in a elementary school bathroom. the pool area you can tell they dont do a good cleaning to the pool the room was freezing blasting like 4-5 acs in there is crazy . the next morning on 10/7 went to eat breakfast and the food was not great at all there was no biscuit with gravy, they were out of sausage unless you wanted the turkey sausage well I am not a fan of it was super chewy and cold, I would love to have a cup of coffee with normal creamer but nope they only offered french vanilla or hazelnut . I can say that the staff that morning was NOT very nice at all she acted like she was better then everyone . now the young lady that was there part of the 2nd shift she was very friendly but she left early due to being sick and the morning shift lady came back in and was very disrespectful talking bad about the girl that left early for being sick at the front desk in front of customers VERY UNPROFESSIONAL .your guest should not hear workers bad mouthing other workers . all around impression it made on the name holiday inn is making me question if I will continue using Ihg hotels as the experience was bad and was not worth the price at all .

I hate to share this since hood hotels are so hard to find but this place is a hidden gem. The new remodel is well done but the topper on this cake is the staff. I travel for work and am on the road a lot. The staff at this hotel is the best I’ve been around in years. From the front deck to the precious gem that works the breakfast area this place is top notch. Thanks for making our stay special.

This is absolutely the worse hotel I have stayed in ever and I travel and stay in hotels 6 months out of the yr. The floors are razor thin and the floors are just as bad you can here everything above you and next to you if you are looking for a good hotel for a good night's sleep stay far away from this hotel. Even renovated I could not believe the noise level that came through the walls. Spoke with the sales Manager Marci and voiced my concerns to her and she said she would be getting back to me after her meeting and I never heard back from her as like this hotel the management here seems to not care in regards to getting back with me about this matter. STAY FAR AWAY IF U WANT A GOOD NIGHTS SLEEP!!!!!!!

To start, my wife would say that a 3 is being gracious. We were greeted by a very friendly staff. And then it started going down hill. No issues with the staff, but rather when we entered the hallway from the elevator on our floor. But first, I will say, on multiple walls since our arrival, were signs that state no smoking or vaping, blah blah. There was even one immediately outside of the elevator as the doors opened.. But oh boy.. the smell of stale cigarettes when the door opened. Ok... Maybe it is the hall. Nope, when we opened the door of the room, it wasn't much different. Now, I will say that the staff had told us that the facility is currently undergoing remodeling. The room was presentable. And fairly well appointed. Albeit slightly outdated. I wish I had taken a few pictures. There was a smear of something on one of the inner walls.. not really sure what it was, and honestly I didn't notice it until toward the end of our three night stay. On night two, my wife stepped to the bed, and... Into something sticky. She assumed that maybe it was old jelly. Aside from that, the HVAC system had some flaws. It didn't function properly if at all. It did work, but we are not sure that it adjusted as we changed it for comfort. The main point, for the price, we feel the value was not there.

To my 300,000 readers on TripAdvisor. We recently visited your property. Your remodel project is looking very nice, so thank you for the investment. We stay there at least once annually to visit family. The reception crew were always friendly and helpful. The breakfast staff did a great job keeping the food stocked and fresh. The rooms and bed were very comfortable. I do have an issue, however. On Monday, 7 August, we departed our room for the day at 10am. The DND sign was not on the door. When we returned at 4:30pm, our room was not cleaned, nor towels replaced. Our room was literally 4 steps from the housekeeping room (across the hall). As we paid for your full service that day, but didn’t receive it…an overpayment then. Amy, from the property tells me that if your DND sign is not removed by 8:30, you must call and ask for daily service. This wasn’t the case for the 3 previous days. I’ve travelled 4 nights weekly, while working and continue about 50 nights annually in retirement. Literally 1000’s of nights. I’ve never heard this excuse before. Take responsibility and be honest. That, I could understand.

They were in the middle of construction in Lobby Manage didn't let me also on 3rd I was in 2nd floor till 7pm. When called to complain she said I can't tell them to stop they on a time line she was more worried about workers then a paying costumer. Payed 142. There is just no customer service anymore we're its more important worker then a paying g client

Traveling from Michigan, I had business in the area. This hotel appears to be recently remodeled, and the room was very bright and clean. The staff was friendly and helpful. What is concerning is the construction of the hotel. This is one of the noisiest places I have stayed at in recent years. The footfall noise from rooms above, the sound of slamming doors up and down the hall, and clearly audible voices from both the hall and adjoining rooms made sleeping very difficult. I'm not talking about 'rowdy' people causing excess noise; just normal family activities and conversations are clearly audible inside the room. Interestingly there was a large gap at the base of the room's door which certainly allowed noise from the hallway to enter. Floors, walls and ceilings appear to be to be made of simple plywood or plasterboard with little or no insulation being used, such that I could clearly hear people and TV's from next door, as well as above and below me. Even the thump of doors being closed downstairs were very loud during the evening hours. At times it sounded like a Tyrannosaurus Rex family was walking around above me. This is the kind of room construction I would expect from a Red Roof Inn or other budget hotel, but most Holiday Inn Express and/or similar competitors have better insulation and design considerations for noise control. Unfortunately, I won't be able to stay there again, as it was very difficult sleeping.

Me and my bestie was here for a concert this past weekend but couldn't find any reasonably priced hotels in the city. The hotel was in pretty good condition and a good price considering how close Lexington is to it. The young man working at the front desk said he was new but was doing surprisingly good and helped direct us to a nearby barbecue restaurant. Breakfast was about as tasty as the barbecue we had and thats a good thing! Room coulda been a little cleaner but we was pretty happy with our visit.

Beds were great. Holes in doors someone punched. Non smoking room that smelled like smoke and the bedding had burn holes in it. Breakfast was decent. Could hear everything happening in other rooms. Doors on the rooms didn't unlock properly took me 5 minutes to get in the first time.
