First off, I want to say that the property where this B&B is located is pretty cool. It does look like in some places it could use some works, but it's a nice piece of property. Additionally, our room was very clean and comfortable. As far as the B&B experience, it was not what we are used to. Essentially, you could go an entire stay and only see the person who delivers your food. That may be some folk's goal, but it was kind of strange and not particularly homey to us. There is a somewhat pricey restaurant as part of the facilities. It looks classy, but we did not eat there, so I can't speak to it. As far as the "breakfast" part, we were pretty disappointed. The breakfast was tasty enough, but was fairly small. Additionally, it was made clear that if you wanted anything extra, you would be charged for it, as though you were in a restaurant, which is kind of weird to us. Most B&B's I've stayed at, you get as much coffee as you want, but here, we had a Keurig with 2 decafs and 3 regular coffees, and if you wanted more there was an additional charge for each k-cup. To recap - nice clean facilities, but not run like a homey bed and breakfast - more like a boutique hotel or something.

My wife and I recently stayed here while visiting family in the area. We stayed in the English Hunt room which is on the second floor of the Inn. We arrived slightly later than planned but the host was able to make it so that we could check ourselves in. It went very smoothly. The room was clean and comfortable. It was nice- like staying in a relative's house but with our own bathroom. At a little after 4 in the morning, we were awakened by what sounded like a domestic dispute in the adjoining room. After about five minutes of listening to VERY angry yelling we determined that it was probably not a fight but it was a RUDE unbelievably- loud telephone argument. This continued for a few more minutes so I knocked on the door and asked if everything was okay? The woman who answered the door answered in broken English that everything was fine she was just dealing with a problem with her daughter in Vietnam. From the looks of the room the woman was living there although I can't say for certain. Then she closed the door and continued yelling into the phone. My wife texted the host and also called and left the host a message. Shortly after that, the yelling decreased in volume. We finally got to sleep at around 6. When we left in the morning, the woman in the adjoining room had her door wide open, gave us a dirty look as we passed and then followed us down the hallway watching us as we left. A truly bizarre twist on what otherwise would have been a nice stay.

I booked The Pinecone Cottage for 1 night, for my husband’s 30th birthday. Traci called me the day of check in to confirm my credit card details and give me “check in instructions” (pull up the drive, pull under the carport, get out of your car, your door and key will be right there). When she started telling me where to go, she mentioned that we were in the Stardust Cottage. I told her that I had booked the Pinecone Cottage, she stated that the guest that were in there had it booked for 2 nights. I was trying not to be difficult, so I told her as long as we had a jacuzzi I was fine with the change. She assured me that it had a jacuzzi and that was the end of our conversation. Fast forward to 10pm, we get there to a horribly muddy driveway. We’re local, so we know construction is happening on Hwy 9. With the snow melt off we assumed it would be muddy, so we took our truck, but if someone from out of town came in a low sitting car they would definitely get stuck, I know this is completely out of the B&B’s control, but they could give guest a heads up on the phone so that they could prepare. We get up the driveway and the only carport and cottage I see already had a truck parked under it. I didn’t want to impose on another guest and there was absolutely no signage, so I called the number and got a “HELLO!” I explained I was a little confused and she continued to speak to me in a demeaning tone like I was incompetent and said that it was a shared carport and our door was right there. I apologized for calling late and we hung up. We got to our “cottage” (which was a room off of the Pinecone Cottage). It was really run down and could use a lot of repair and updating. We didn’t have any hot water, so we didn’t even get to use the jacuzzi and our bed had a dip in the middle, we didn’t get any sleep between the bed and the neighboring guest’s dogs barking all night. We didn’t eat breakfast, so I can’t comment on that portion of our stay. Upon checkout, I spoke with Traci and explained that we were not happy with our stay and I got a generic “I’m sorry”. I asked her to have the owner reach out to me via email and I’ve yet to hear from the owner. If the owner would have made any attempt to reach out to me, I wouldn’t be leaving this review right now. Very disappointed! It’s rare that my husband and I get a night away from the kids and it was totally ruined. I really wish I would’ve booked somewhere else.
