Having been here more than once, we noticed before that it is becoming less customer friendly and utilities are deteriorating. Staying at a cabin, we had to boil our water in the coffee maker ( we were told after asking for the missing water boiler), no waterboiler available and neither is anything to dry the dishes on or in. It is clean and remote, but still I miss the friendly and helpful staff from the early years

Online booking without any problems. Very friendly welcome by receptionist staff (especially the young lady with French accent, Ken). But staff in general was nice. Lodge is quite new. Everything kept clean. Definitely recommend a chalet as the lodge rooms might face the road. Some of the chalets have kitchen so take care when booking. Did some beautiful hikes in the area. A stroll along the lakeside to the campground was possible.

There is no doubt the lodge is beautiful....if you can get past the front desk to actually see it. For the price you pay for a cabin, a room or even overpriced campsite ($75 a night) you don't get much. The cabin's are roomy and clean but that is all you get, a clean room. There is no coffee available in the rooms. We traveled all over the Yukon and Canada and we found coffee service in the smallest of Mom & Pops along our route. The craziest thing is access to the main lodge. Unless you make a reservation for the 3 course meal in the dining room, it's take out only for you. There is no sitting down in the dining room to take in the lodge experience or sitting in the bar to unwind after a long journey. You can't get past the front desk. You order your take out at the front desk and have to wait in the seating area just off the front desk. Your food has to be taken back to your room or cabin or for a couple that came in while we were there, their car in the rain. If you ask me, they ask a lot of their front desk personnel but they handled themselves extremely well when answering questions from confused, tired and hungry travelers as we stood there for quite awhile waiting for our take out food. It was a bit surprising to have such a beautiful property with travelers from all over the world and you inhibit people from enjoying it. Trust me, save a few bucks and travel down the road a few miles and stay at the next RV park and lodge.

Traveling past this lodge with a restaurant sign enticed us to stop. Our intent was to use the restroom & have a late lunch in their dining room. We entered & we’re looking around, when we were approached by an employee. “What are you looking for?”, she asks with a bit of an attitude. “Restrooms and restaurant please.” “Our restaurant doesn’t open until 6, and you can use the”, I forget her exact words at this point. Basically what she said, with a definite attitude was, you can use our outhouse in back. There were restroom doors not 5’ from us in the lobby!

This property is deceptive. It's a beautiful structure in a beautiful setting, but... We reserved the "Penthouse Suite" for one night at a total cost of approximately $325. It was neither a Penthouse nor a Suite and only vaguely resembled the picture. It was an afterthought room at attic level with a significant portion unusable because of the sloping ceiling and encroaching large logs. It was furnished with what looked like remnants of a yard sale and was poorly kept. The carpet was torn, the bath towels frayed and holed, the shower curtain was brown with dirt/mold. And the only apparent way to regulate temperature was by opening/closing a window. When we checked in just before 8 PM we were told the dining room, which was large and very attractive, was closed but would be open and serving breakfast between 7 and 10 AM. So at around 8 AM we went down looking forward to a nice breakfast. But they were not "serving" breakfast but instead just providing a minimal buffet of greasy sausages, dried out scrambled eggs and some even more dried out remnants of fried potatoes. And a stack of white bread from which you could make toast. For which they wanted $23/person. When I questioned the young man attending the dining room he simply said it was all they had and the best he could do. We.both passed. My wife, however, asked if she could just have a single piece of toast and he said sure, but it would be $23. Shortly later, upon leaving, I asked the same young man to see the manager. He claimed he was the manager and actually the "owner" as well. Presumably he was the son of the owner. Regardless, I politely explained our total disappointment and their obvious lack of professionalism and living up to their advertising. His response was apologetic but uncaring. Clearly he had no clue. In offering up this experience to the public, I want to make clear, I am no stranger to this part of the country and the challenges it presents. I first traveled the Alcan in 1959 with my parents and lived in Alaska continuously for more than fifty years. Over that time I've been up and down the Alcan more than twenty times. My expectations are not unrealistic and are based on experience. Clearly this lodge, beautiful as it appears, severely oversold itself and underdelivered, with no apparent awareness or concern. Needless to say, we'll bypass it next time.

The insane high prices kept shocking me over and over and we had to pay extra for everything. Also the staff would say one thing in a conversation that led me to believe stuff was available and then the next conversation they literally told me hat they did not say that. Very frustrating.

We didn’t stay here, but did get the carryout lunch and the breakfast buffet. Delicious food and the dining room provides a great atmosphere, suitable for the northern Rockies. It looks like a great place to stay and will consider it on my next trip.

Just an incredible lodge that feels to be in the middle of nowhere on the Alaskan Highway. Very reasonably priced for the amazing service. Highly recommend the waterfront lodge though the compound is small so it’s an easy walk from the other cabins. Family owned, they treat the guests wonderfully. Cabins are super clean. The food is amazing! The schnitzel was the best I’ve ever had. They had boats and paddle board to rent. Lots of other tourist adventures such as fishing and bush flying. Next time I want to spend a whole week! Don’t miss this oasis of Canada north with a Swiss accent on the Alaskan highway!

The campsite we had was basically a gravel parking lot near Sani dump. No picnic table. No staff seen in the campground Garbage on driveway. Quite expensive about double or more than other sites. Not good value
