Blommenhof Hotel

It's the people who work here that make Blommenhof so special. I stayed here for 4 nights and they were fab, cheerful, and helpful. I read the reviews before I came and had some apprehension, but this was blown away by the hotel's team, who are so rarely mentioned in the reviews (why? They make Blommenhof special!). Yes, it's near a highway (look on a map, it's not a surprise!), and yes, you have to pay to use the pool and spa (it's on the website), but the best part is the team. The receptionists were so friendly, maintenance was efficient when the door wouldn't open, the cleaners kept everything spotless (wow, it's clean!), the restaurant staff were discrete, knowledgeable, and attentive, and the gardeners were so good, I wanted to take them home to do my garden! The food was lovely (I lost count of the return visits I made to the fika!) and whoever pairs the wine with the meals - you are excellent! I used the spa twice. The pool is small, but it's sufficient. The ambience is soothing, and the whole area is clean and well looked after. I was here for a conference, and the food was included (all good). The meeting rooms were light and well-resourced. I might not be back next year (😢), but I am sure the conference will be. Thank you, Blommenhof Hotel, for making me feel welcome and looked after. Your amazing staff truly made my stay unforgettable!

Had a great sleep here. The sauna as well as the outdoor pool was great. Also very nice staff. This is the pros. Cons would be foodwise as the meat wasn't cured and was really hard to indulge. My five cents...

The hotel was aged but beautiful, the decorations were dated. The room was clean but dated. Room renovation should be considered immediately. Spa was standard, we felt almost like On sen but it’s not. The disappointment part was receptionist who really can’t speak English. I even asked if the room that I booked was alright, to see if she will recommend the higher category but no.

This hotel put an emphasis on "caring" in their motto, and we could feel that numerous times during our short one night stay. They changed a duvet at our request, they walked down to the pool and took our drink orders, the staff were kind several times to our 8year old in the restaurant and upon departure, they presented a lovely spa gift just because we had requested that new duvet. The SPA / pool was open until 8 PM for kids which is not something you see often. The dinner restaurant and the breakfast were absolutely fine. Now, you need to know that this hotel is located just next to the highway. It is not a picturesque location in the woods like it may look like. The restaurant is not extravagant perhaps, but great quality and very good price. The price for the hotel and alcohol is very affordable, the convenience and service is great for this money. I think this hotel offered extraordinary value for money.

I typically don’t complain but I really felt I had to share my experience. The service was bad, room filthy, breakfast mediocre and you have to RENT spa bathing robe and buy slippers. One would think this should be included in the spa price. In other words, you walk the hotel in only your towel, but if you want, you can rent a bathing robe for €5. Sure, that’s fine, but then there are no slippers. Guess what, you have to pay for those too. €4 for a pair of slippers. Breakfast was nothing fancy. Actually not even ok, compared to what I am used to. Lounge facilities are under expectations and the bartender does not even know how to mix drinks. rooms with very little sound absorption, filth and dirt under the chairs and bed. Body soap and hair shampoo are the same soap, no iron for ironing shirts.
