We stayed here for 2 nights in July. The hotel and rooms are clean and comfortable. The lack of vegetarian / vegan food options was disappointing considering this is a Marriott Hotel. The resteraunt may not be theirs, but still expected better. The staff were very helpful, although the hotel shuttle to drop us to the station was only available for a 30 minute timeslot in the morning. Strange, but not a problem. Location is good, still has a feel that it could be a lot better by just making small improvements. Its the details that matter, at least that is why we booked Marriott. Still, we would stay here again (and maybe bring our own food).

Oribana onsen hotel is very close to Ogisawa station which is my starting point for the Tateyama Alpine route. We stayed at Oribana for 2 nights, before and after finishing the Tateyama route. Oribana is not located inside the Omachi onsen area. My first impression after arriving at the hotel is not very good since the staff did not come out to help with the luggage from the parking lot. Bu once inside the hotel the standard Japanese service came back finally. Guests have to take off the shoes at the reception and wear the socks throughout the hotel. The staff even cleaned the luggage before bringing them to my room. In the lobby there is music playing the same song in a loop. The staff explained the hotel details in lobby, then led us to our room. The hotel has a not very impressive garden, but with good view of the mountain. I picked a western style room. It is not a very spacious room, may be 10 mats. The room is equipped with both warm air and cool air conditioner. The onsen is not big but with many patrons. The outdoor bath is facing the wild countryside with occasional traffic passing through. The dinner on first night is a little surprise to me. With only Jpy10,800 per person per night, the dinner is really worth more than the price paid for. Every dish is delicious, the local pork, the yuba, the shrimp cake, the grill salted fish, the baked apple, the veggie tempura, all are outstanding. And we have our private dinning room in the restaurant. Unfortunately there is no souvenir shop in the hotel. Again the breakfast is served in the private room, and free coffee is available in the coffee room in the morning. Another surprise is that there are free fresh milk available in the morning near the onsen. The second night dinner we ordered different menu and again scored high.

What an awesome experience! The hotel offered exemplary service before we even arrived. Due to special travel arrangements, we arrived late and the staff quick to arrange an in-room bento dinner for us before our arrival. When we got there, we were immediately blown away by the gorgeousness of the hotel. Despite its age, everything was very clean and polished. I can see that great care had been taken to upkeep the hotel and it’s premises, which are extraordinarily beautiful. We couldn’t resist taking pictures even after check-out, and it took us an hour to finally reluctantly leave. Words cannot actually do the place justice, you must visit there yourself. We were very impressed with how delicious the food was, and the attention to detail, including the placement of the food, the coordination of food color. My mouth is still watering as I recall how delicious it was. I had 10 helpings of their prime rib one day. Besides, I had a dietary restriction and the staff were really careful with that, to the extent of reminding me what dishes not to eat everyday at their breakfast and dinner buffet. In addition to excellent food and service, the hotel went out of its way to be very eco-friendly. For every day that we did not need our room to be tidied, we earned points, which can be traded in for ice cream or other goodies. Finally, the staff spoke perfect English. This is rare indeed, and it made everything so much easier and so much more enjoyable. Thanks for the experience!

Very near the train station and bus stop to catch the Tateyama Kurobe Alpine ( TKA) route bus. Sleeping arrangement is Japanese tatami style. so too is the shared bathroom. There is also a shared toilet. Toiletries are provided. And so too is the Japanese styled pajamas. There is a shared kitchen where there is a fridge, microwave oven, two electric jugs, thermos flask, Pot for making Chinese tea, Chinese tea drinking cups. Not a bad place to stay if one wants to start the TKA route from Shino Omachi or to rest for the night after ending he TKA route. Before embarking on the TKA route, one should take the transportation time schedule from the information counter at the lounge. Then proceeded to read n detail at the sofa in the lounge. One also can request for the luggage delivery process for the TKA route free m the he front desk.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Hotel Sierra Resort, Hakuba when we visited in February. The hotel itself is beautiful, well maintained and offers a lot to its visitors. The hotel is set outside of the main town in it's own little secluded area. This can be a plus and minus - Positive because the resort is so beautiful and away from the hustle and bustle, negative as it can at times be difficult to access transport to and from town (restaurants, bars, ski fields, etc). The hotel offers a shuttle bus in the evenings to take you into town, although you need to book in there and back, which can be restrictive of your time at dinner, etc as you have to decide on a return time. The shuttle bus doesn't stop near all restaurants, so you could be walking in the dark/cold to your reservation and then waiting in the cold for the return bus. Keep this in mind - a lot of the time we found it more convenient to order a taxi, although these can be hard to come by and expensive! The Ski shuttle bus picks up/drops off at the hotel each day. Buses are busy and there are no racks for ski/board gear - you need to carry everything onto the bus with you, which can be very squishy as the buses get quite full. We found Tsugaike to be the closest and most convenient ski field to the hotel. The staff at the hotel were always very friendly and helpful. Language barriers existed, although staff would always ensure they had assisted you by the end of the conversation, you just have to allow a little more time in your schedule to organise and make your plans. This also allowed us time to learn some simple Japanese which assisted us when communicating with the staff. Sierra Hotel offers complimentary food at different times throughout the day, served in the main lobby area - curries, rice, soup, etc. This is so convenient when you get back from the ski fields and just want a small bite to eat before dinner. Hotel also offers complimentary wine, tea and ice creams. Breakfast - great selection of Japanese and Western food. We thoroughly enjoyed breakfast each morning. There were always new things to try each day - eg: different soups (pumpkin, corn), also beautiful views outside. Dinner - we had dinner at the hotel one night from the A La Carte menu. Also thoroughly enjoyed our meals (Pasta, calamari, soup, fries, etc). Rooms were big, very comfortable and warm with special heating. Beautiful views of the snow and areas around the hotel. Our favourite part of the resort was the beautiful public and private onsens made up of pure mineral water. The private onsens need to be booked in ahead of time which the hotel allows each morning - you will need to be quick to make a booking. We would definitely recommend Hotel Sierra Resort and would stay here again. Thank you to the staff for an enjoyable stay! :)

I came on the Alpine Route just after opening to see the snowy Otani. Because I was in Takayama, I stayed two nights at Mikurigaike Onsen with a bed because I was worried about the weather. The result was sunny, cloudy and then stormy, snow and then rain and cloudy. The weather is changeable. It was a time when the alpine route was just opened, so I prepared with winter mountain equipment by referring to the clothes and shoes on the alpine route web page. On the second day, the weather was expected to be stormy, so I went out and stayed in the hot spring. I passed the time in the hot springs during the day. It was the first time I stayed at a mountain villa since high school, when I spent five or six nights in total. I think the times have changed and it has become more sophisticated. There is also freshly ground coffee, which is perfect. It was a bed-type shared room, but the privacy was separated by a curtain and I think it was perfect. I think that I was able to stay with confidence and peace of mind. I made a reservation on the web page. There was a pair of ptarmigans in the nearby Pumice forest, and many people surrounded the ptarmigans and were absorbed in taking pictures. I was surprised and delighted that an elderly person like myself with a chronic illness could stay in a high mountain like Tateyama. Also, I would like to stay at the time of autumn leaves and late autumn when the snow is covered. The scenery I see is another dimension, and I want to meet Raicho again.

The hotel is located in the middle of the mountain, the view is good, but you have to take a transportation car to arrive. I booked breakfast and dinner, the meal was good, especially the dinner, the drink was all you could drink, which is very few hotels can do.

GGuest UserNice place for one night stay before going the alpen route, close to the nearest convenient store from the station(i.e. the closest one is 10min away from station XD) the staff is very nice, has warm water in toilet and washing area. The room has a kettle of hot water, tower, tooth brush set, and anything you need for a night, surprised that the kettle is still keeping the water hot drinking water after a whole night and I don't need to get the water again in the morning. sorry that the photo was taken in late night and may look a bit dark, it's better than it looks

AardellguNot far from Shinano Omachi Station, the transportation is convenient. Hotels run by ********* are relatively convenient for communication, but the understanding of the landlady is a bit out of sync with ours... Clean, I chose a room with a bathroom, but it was different from other rooms in Japan Compared with business hotels, there is no advantage in price and service. The worst thing is that there are no curtains and it's already dark after 4 o'clock in the morning. I couldn't sleep, so I caught the early bus and set off with my luggage. The luggage storage area doesn't open until nearly 8 o'clock

TTana133155I overwrite my experience. After arriving at the cherry blossoms, I don't know the location of the parking lot and try to ask at the receptionist. I look for the surrounding area of the cherry blossoms and find a parking lot and go to the receptionist once again, and there is no one even if I call or wait. Wait for about 10 minutes, I came out. The hair is also bosabossa, the kimono that is not like a cherry blossom? The old woman who looks like a cherry blossom, and the phone seems to have come, and it goes back as it is. This is left cherry blossoms and waited for about 10 minutes before checking in. The cherry blossom time is 16 o'clock, and when you enter the room, there is already a futon, and the tea table is pushed to the corner of the room, and the cherry blossom tea contract is expired. The nori cuts are attached The time of dinner is confirmed four times When I went to the dining room at dinner time, all the dishes were already lined up on the table at any meal time drip color bad construction, The cold tempura is salted from the beginning, and it is a somen cherry blossom that has stretched. I thought that the pot of the seven wheels on the table had a small bowl and raw *, and the boiled soup was thin even if it was eaten only by thin soup. I don't know the meaning of * until the end. Hair in steaming tea bowl. There are dust in the cherry blossom room, and the remote control of the TV is betabeta. The sanitation side becomes worried, and the public bath is avoided, and the bath in the room is made, but the drainage groove of the bathtub is brown, the bottom is wet, and the shower is chorochoro When you roll the futon, feathers? The sneezing does not stop The breakfast is a Japanese food that seems to be a luxury breakfast of the route inn, and the miso soup is too thick to drink. I didn't have a chopsticks, so I didn't look for an employee, and finally found a grandmother employee? When I talk to you, I send another seat of the cherry blossoms. I was told that the card was OK at check-in, but when I put out the card at check-out, I can't do it now, and I'm told to wait for a while. The old woman comes to talk, but it's a little bit lower. The shoes remain the shape I took off last night. There is no sending. From check-in to out, I saw only two good old women who did not know whether they were female or employees, and one old woman who seemed to be a meal, but did there be any other employees? The 15,000 yen with two meals is never cheap except for the luxury inn. The minimal sanitation idea and the reeducation of the service to welcome the guests, the improvement, and the guest of the inn. In such corona, there is no qualification for business such as inn which is not hygienic. Insufficient employees, aging, etc.! If there is a reason that is not natural, it is clear and honest at the stage of the reservation. If it cannot be done, it is necessary that the customer side not choose such an inn as self-defense.
