Hotel & Restaurant Wildthout

I am not so often in the situation: as a treaty, for the care of my dear grandchildren, we had received a gift voucher, but the organization that issued these vouchers had failed, which would not allow us to exchange it. We, my children and the hotels involved, had a strap. We were therefore surprised that we found on the internet information about the (under certain conditions) exchange of the gift voucher at Hotel Wildthout in Ommen through articles, including the ”Kasa” programme. We had a great weekend, relaxed, hospitalized, welcomed, the hotel's entourage was written on our body, atmosphereful, clean, not high-speed. We received a surprise dinner pre-stoped, where we suffered our fingers. Well served, prepared with precision and supported with a glass of wine. The evening was sore, the company pleasant and the service friendly. The next day the breakfast was very diverse. Thanks Nienke, Grethe, cook. We will certainly come back and advise this location to friends and friends.

I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. Prior to the weekend we only had the booking confirmation e-mail, no extra information whatsover. Upon arrival the check in woman didn't know for sure if the room was already clean (we arrived at 16:00, check in is from 15:00...). The bed was made but there were flies in the room, dead musquitos on the walls everywhere, the toilet was dirty, there were stains on the floor, etc etc. Our balcony was next to the train passing, so there is that. It was 10 degrees outside but it was boiling hot in the room(?) We came for the Spa and were disappointed. You can only do treatments on saturdays appereantly, would have been nice to know that in advance. The steam room was broken, you have to leave the hot tub every 5 minutes to push a button the turn it on, there was mold, the swimmingpool smelled like old water and it was dirty everywhere. They don't explain anything to you at the hotel so you just have to figure out that you need a seperate card to access the spa, not just your roomkeycard. Almost all of the showers are cold or have no pressure. The restaurant is expensive and they had forgotton our reservation. I'm severly allergic to nuts and mentioned it in my booking information and again at the start of dinner. First course; cashew nuts in the salad. This has never happened to me in any restaurant ever. We've paid for the dinner with the booking, so only had to pay for our drinks. The price was 84 EUROS. Two teas, some water, and a bottle of wine. What the hell....

Great location and walking distance to shops and restaurants. However, no room service was provided, no clean towels or bins emptied. This is because of “Duurzaamheid” from hotel management. We believe “Duurzaamheid is Luiheid” and poor quality. Bathroom outdated and luxaflex too short to cover the bathroom window. No flyscreens on all the windows. Floor is making cracking noise when walking over it. The mini bar fridge has damaged front. The glasses were dirty at the breakfast buffet, what we showed to the staff. Breakfast buffet has been minimal (cut back in size) compared to other years. Staff forgot to bring champagne to the room on arrival whilst this was clearly communicated at front desk. Overall untrained staff what has no clue what they’re doing and clueless. Windows and outdoor terrace are dirty and there was no communication before arrival that the “beach” was closed due to high water in the river. There was simply no ambiance sitting outside overlooking the river and town. Overall prices of food and drinks are much higher than the neighbouring bars and restaurants. The price and quality are definitely NOT in line and it looks like the hotel management only wants our money. Definitely looking elsewhere next time.
