Universal’s Endless Summer Resort – Dockside Inn and Suites Reviews

We were a family of 5: 2 adults 3 teens booked for 2 nights. We got to the hotel late, 10:30 pm, the check in line was long so check in was around 11. We booked and received a suite, 3 queen bed, 1 bathroom, pool view. The room was cute and generally clean with the exception of some liquid splatters on the walls here and there. A key had been provided for each person in our group for the free hour entry into the parks however we learned that you also have to use the card key to turn on the lights in the room. There either wasn’t a fan in the bathroom or it wasn’t working and though there were plenty of towels there were only 4 washcloths (original booking was for 6 individuals). We parked our rental in the parking garage and though it wasn’t terrible, it is a bit of a walk to the elevators. If you don’t want to go off site for food the food there was okay (at least during dinner time, don’t know what they served for lunch/breakfast) and honestly reasonable priced with a range number of options. But there are plenty of options in the surrounding area. Any beverages and snacks of course are higher in price. The buses to the park were clean with ride being 5-10 minutes and we never really had to wait coming and going from the park. They cleaned the room when we went to the park however again didn’t provide enough washcloths. I called front desk about it however had to end up hunting down house keeping about an hour later to get one and even that was almost not successful. Overall the stay was okay and I guess you can expect to feel safe as I was told by my husband that a female security guard followed him to our room after he asked for directions. But again everything was good until we got home and realized our personal keys that we kept in the middle console of the rental and had both our home and car keys on had been stolen. Security did claim to check the room we had checked out of with of course no success and then afterwards it took some time for them to truly understand the situation, after being placed on hold a couple of times and then transferred to I’m assuming their supervisor who at first sounded irritated I was then told that there are no cameras in the parking garage. They did take down my contact information and description of the keys but also indicated that having “over 8,000 visitors” at the hotel a day that it may take some time to know if the keys are ever found. So in other words don’t leave ANYTHING important in your vehicle.

Excellent location and very convenient for anyone visiting Universal Studios. Pools are a must and the hotel is very friendly overall. Highlights: airport shuttle (paid, Universal ShuttleStar), bus transportation to Citywalk all day every couple minutes (included), park early entrance (included), pools open till 10pm, market and Starbucks in the lobby. And, the biggest plus for me was the fact that they don’t have a strict check in rule: as long as they have a room available, you may check in (if you’re traveling in crazy hours with kids, this makes all the difference!). Staff is great, very friendly and helpful despite the hotel being very busy at all times. Rooms are clean - you don’t get service everyday but you can ask for anything and they leave you at your door. Again, despite the hotel being very crowded, kids running everywhere, everything was clean at all times. Will definitely stay again.

Of the four elevators only two were functioning. So there was always a wait for them.

Hotel’s location was good and there is shuttle bus service to the park and back. But check in time after 4pm is too late and I had to wait till 5pm for my room to be ready for check in. There’s no free mineral water provided in the room unlike other hotels.

The room is very clean and the environment is very good

The room card allows you to enter the park in advance. It should be good to go in summer. You can experience the swimming pool downstairs. We had to wear coats in the morning and evening during the Chinese New Year. The hotel facilities are a bit old and the hygiene is average. Fortunately, the price is acceptable.

If you stay at this hotel during the non-winter and summer off-season, you can enter Universal Studios one hour in advance and enjoy both parks in one day. You can try Red Oven Pizza outside Universal Studios.

The hotel is large and busy, with tourists from all over the world. There is a shared laundry room on each floor, and the hygiene is OK…

The hotel has many rooms and simple facilities. The weather was cooling down when I stayed. There was only a thin blanket in the room and the air conditioner only cooled the room. As there is no microwave in the hotel room in the resort, the hotel is in a good location. There is a free shuttle from the hotel to Universal Studios, which runs every 15 minutes, and you can enter the park 1 hour in advance.

Spacious room, large swimming pool, good location, convenient transportation

It is very close to Universal City from the hotel and there is a direct shuttle. The only thing is that the sound insulation is not very good. Other environments are very different
