I've known about the Grand Hotel since I was a child, and it was a place I wanted to stay at least once. I left my hometown 50 years ago, and when my father was hospitalized, I returned and stayed here. We stayed in a special room, enjoyed the large communal bath, and were very satisfied with the breakfast. The staff were also wonderful and warm! In fact, my son and daughters from Kyushu and Kobe were planning to visit their 95-year-old grandfather, so we made the reservation after breakfast, and although there were some issues with the extra beds, the service was good and we were very satisfied. I think it's worth staying at least once. Highly recommended. From Kagoshima
