This hotel has a great history and the staff are fantastic human beings. Very peaceful and extremely nice folks. I have frequented this hotel for over 25 years. The management, the breakfast folks are wonderful. I enjoy the rest and relaxation and more importantly the air is the best at this location.

The location of this hotel is very close to the beach, about five minutes walk, bigger than other similar hotel rooms I have stayed in, overall very comfortable, breakfast is a standard American breakfast, you can find a restaurant across the road

I used it for my husband and wife. Of course, it doesn't feel luxurious, but it's clean, it's taking measures against the coronavirus properly, and instead of having no breakfast buffet, I was very grateful to have a simple pick-up breakfast. (oatmeal, cereal, apple, yogurt, milk, hot coffee, etc.). By the way, it's a pandemic and it's difficult to eat out now, but there is a supermarket nearby for about 5 minutes by car, so it's convenient if necessary. The parking lot was $ 12 per night separately from the accommodation fee. Check-out is 11 o'clock and a little earlier than others, but it was good that the car was put in the parking lot during the day after check-out. Thanks to that, I was able to put my big luggage in the trunk of the car and go to nearby beaches and restaurants within walking distance before returning home. The room was originally booked with a harbor view room so I could see a very nice view from the balcony. The sunset was also beautiful. The room had a coffee machine, microwave and refrigerator in the queue. This was also good because the refrigerator was cooled with drinks. If you want to spend a relaxing time on the beach, Ventura is more small and calm than Santa Monica or Malibu. If you live near Los Angeles, you can travel on weekends very easily because it's about an hour by car. :)

Stayed here due to the proximity to Channel Islands access and the location cannot be beat! Staff is super friendly and go above and beyond the call of duty to ensure that you have a comfortable stay. Our room was clean and spacious, but the resort is showing some wear and tear from age. Our server at breakfast was excellent. Hotel could use some updating, especially compared with the Holiday Inn Express. No laundry facilities on-site, though you are able to go to the HI Express to use their single washer and dryer! I would rate the property 4 stars, but given the excellent staff, it bumps up the experience to 5 star.

Typical HIE, nothing great. First when checking in, my profile which specifically asks for a room located near the elevator (and even though I'm a Spire Elite) the front desk clerk never acknowledged my status and proceeded to give me the furthest room from the elevator which was quite far away at the other end of the building. I think he was traumatized by Covid-19 as he was totally PPE'd up including ridiculous looking snorkeling goggles. The room was decent but many electrical outlets didn't work and overall the room was quite dark unless you went around a found all the ”mood” lighting space around the room. The bathroom has the most pathetic water spout in the sink, the kind you get in the airports that supposed work when you put your hands underneath. It didn't work well and came out in FULL force that you couldn't adjust. So if you want to brush your teen, you have to wave your hand underneath the spout, hope it ”senses” the movement and then the water blasts out and maybe it will get warm before it shuts off. It's the most poorly designed faucet I have ever used, one absolutely nobody would have in their home and most certainly should not be in the hotel. Pathetic.

The location is easy to find, just across the road is the seaside, just park your car and walk past the hotel. On the first day I drove to the beach, I was charged a parking fee of $10. You must know that the beach was very cold and windy around 6 o'clock. I stayed for an hour at most, and $10 was too expensive. The next day was to go to the beach. The room is large, and the bathroom is especially large. There are toiletries, but no mineral water. The bed is also big enough for a family of three. The breakfast is richer, and the scrambled eggs and bacon areas need to show the hotel meal coupons and someone will help you serve them. The amount is relatively small, and they look unhappy. Not far from the surrounding area, there are Macy’s, Target, a Chinese restaurant. The Chinese food tastes slightly American and a bit sweet. The cost of the three dishes adds up to US$50, which is quite expensive.

If you are on a budget, looking for a no-frills place to stay in the Oxnard/Camarillo/Ventura area, this hotel would be hard to beat for the price. Pool was small but clean, bedrooms and bathrooms were clean. No continental breakfast here, but there are many places to eat neary. Gas stations also nearby.

KKimberly MFirst time booking a stay using Trip and while the overall process for booking was easy, the stay at the hotel was a little lack-luster.
Prior to arrival, we didn't get any check-in information; I had a bit of trouble contacting the hotel to get this info. On my part though, I think I did mess up with not providing my contact info (apparently). I got a hold of front desk and the woman I talked to was super courteous and had apologized in advance for the delays. We were told that our room would be ready at 5pm instead of the opposed time at 4. We ended up arriving at 5pm anyway, so time wasn't a problem. When we arrived, everything was fairly clean except for a couple of towels that had brown stains on it. We were short on toilet paper, paper towels, and other small essentials. We were able to get these things the next morning, which was great. My other complaint was that some things were left behind; ie; someone left a pair of their Crocs, and some bar soap in the shower. Even though these things were minor problems to me, it definitely isn't enough to make me lose sleep over. Location: 10/10. 5 minute (or less) walk to the beach. I would definitely still book this place again as long as these issues are not an issue in the future.

GGuest UserI am so disappointed in the Hiltons for allowing all the rooms to have pets. I don't care how clean the animal is and that you take a deposit. Animals leave hair and smells. Our room smelled a little when we first came in but smelt like cleaning chemicals. My husband went to bed right away and sat around for a while and I started sneezing. Then i thought a smelled pee. I went to bed. I woke up all night smelling pee and dog. then I got up to go to the bathroom and the carpet was wet. I guess they had just cleaned the floors and tried to get the smell out. It didn't work. It was disgusting. I woke up with a horrible headache, They did give us another room the next day that didn't smell like animals. Come on Hilton you need to designate certain rooms for animals.

GGuest UserWe stayed here for a couple of nights for Memorial Day weekend. The ocean front suites we stayed in are on the first floor, which gave us a nice picnic area in front of our patio with a direct view of the sandy beach and ocean. We liked our room so much that we barely left it. The Ox and Ocean restaurant was only steps away, which made it really convenient to just order takeout and eat at our patio. The underground parking was also very convenient as it was just short flight of stairs or elevator ride to our room. Hotel staff was very courteous and accommodating to us when we requested a change of towels and toiletries during our stay. While we had some minor issues with the temperature controls in trying to keep the room cool at night, this was easily remedied by keeping the windows open and letting the cool breeze come in. Overall, you can't beat hearing watching and hearing the waves all day and night. We really enjoyed our stay here so much that we've booked another reservation again in a few weeks! Kudos to the staff at Zachari Dunes for an amazing experience!

GGuest UserI would highly recommend this property for your future stay. It is safe, secure, quiet and clean! The price is ok. The staff is very polite and helpful. I had stayed at another major hotel chain and I was very disappointed by how dirty and noisy the hotel was. Then I decided to change hotels and I wound up here at Best Western! I was very impressed by how clean inside and out the property was! When I travel for business in the future I plan on booking my stay at this property. Thank you for your efforts to make my stay pleasureable.
