This place is an over-priced hostel. Not even close to a boutique luxury hotel. We "splurged" to stay here on our last night and were horrified. First of all, the stench. The whole place smells like sewage masked by cleaning products and air fresheners. Second, the room. They are trying to be quirky, I get it. However the room was nothing like the room category I thought I had booked (and paid almost $400/night for). There was supposed to be 2 separate sleeping areas with AC. They only had it set up as 1 sleeping area, and only 1 AC worked. Upon notifying an employee and asking for a different room, I was told that her shift was about to end and she could not transfer us rooms (even though when looking online there were many unsold rooms that they could have moved us to). She said there was no management or owner I could speak to. Trying to sleep through the heat and stench with a lack of AC was unbearable. There was also no windows. Third, the pool. It is not in the "hotel", but down a smelly, fly infested alleyway into another building courtyard. The pool itself reeked of chlorine and looked dirty. It was a sweltering day so we decided to get in anyway. The water was unpleasantly hot, it felt like taking a bath in bleach. Fourth, the staff. 2 of the 3 employees we encountered were rude and 1 was downright hostile. Fifth, the amenities. There are none. There are no basic services like ice machine, employee to help with luggage, overnight staff, minibar (just an empty mini fridge that didn't work). Certainly no amenities that a proper boutique hotel would have like bathrobes, decent towels, a proper place to hang clothing and store belongings, room service, cafe/restaurant/bar (or even a vending machine!) not even a seating area in or outside the room. The breakfast room can only be described as an over decorated cafeteria that smells of sewer. I have actually stayed at hostels that were more pleasant and accommodating than this place.
