Best Hotels near Gare Saint-Lazare, Paris

The hotel is near the station, there is some noise, and then there is vibration in the bed. Otherwise, it is fine, relatively clean, and the room is relatively small. The first day I stayed there was a round socket, but the second day I changed the room to the triangular one in Hong Kong. It was relatively small. It's inconvenient, but you can usually borrow it at the front desk.

The staff is very helpful and professional. We have stayed there four times. The location is perfect because the train station / metro is across the street. The taxi stand is also across the street. There are cafes within walking distance. The train station also has various shops and even a grocery store. Every time we have stayed there, the rooms have been very clean and the housekeeping staff very pleasant. They have a lovely breakfast buffet and breakfast room service, should one choose. We come back to this hotel because it is obvious they are courteous and care about those who stay there.

First things first, there effectively is no Lennon Hotel. There is no reception there and no breakfast room. Everything from the administration on is done through the Avalon Hotel next door so, make the assumption that you are going to the Avalon and you will not get lost or confused. The decor is both dated and modern at the same time. I would say, typically French so I am glad they didn't go all chain hotel and boring. The Bedroom - The choice of furniture I would question. In some pictures you can see what looks like a coat rack. This is the 'wardrobe' in the room. There are 6 hooks which may or may not have 6 hangers. Beneath that could well be a full size laptop safe (free to use) and under that, what I would have used as the shoe shelf. There really isn't anywhere for smaller items at all, they likely will stay in your luggage. With the lighting it's either bright or very bright so, there wasn't really an option to have it dimly lit though there are a selection of ceiling light, wall lamps and table lamps, they are all bright. Our room (100) was not a king size bed, I feel 4' 6” as it was certainly smaller than we are used to. In many pictures it shows the white bed pillows supplemented by small blue (green) ones. This is certainly not the case with every room. The Bathroom - I can but speak for our room as I understand other rooms have different configurations. We had a walk in shower with a rain shower head and a hand held spray adjusted using ornate handles. The toilet was on the wall. I personally don't like those, I feel incredibly unsafe especially when they creak like this one did when sat on. To make it worse, we're only 5' 3” and it's just too high, we felt like 5 year olds in need of a step stall. I wondered if this might not be aimed at wheelchair users as I am disabled but I do not use a chair but a mobility scooter (which there was plenty of room for). Then I consider the sink which is high up, too high for a wheelchair user. Of course, there is no chair in the shower either so, if it is meant to be an accessible room, it kind of isn't. The walls are done in tiles. Very mismatched tiles, not sure whether that was intentional or just years of different repairs and replacements. I feel that the light blue small square tiles were original but that when the shower, toilet and sink were last done they were not replicable so got replaced with blue rectangle tiles. The floor tiles are probably original but very worn and though they may have been, I never felt they were clean. Being a walk in shower the water got everywhere and the floor remained wet all night so we kept a towel on the floor by the door. Us British might find it weird to see a hairdryer in the bathroom right next to the sink, I think a plug socket too! The large round mirror was supposed to light up with a touch switch but, we never got it to work. The location was great for ease getting around Paris. We had a room for 4 people, 1 queen bed and 2 twin beds. The room was a good size but there wasn't much space to move around the beds. The beds were comfortable, only a down comforter was available so I got very hot when covered up. The air conditioning wasn't working so we opened the windows. Our room faced the interior courtyard/not the street but we still got cigarette smoke in our room as people who had balcony rooms sat on the balcony to smoke. The lobby is on the second level and the elevator is very, very tiny. People smoke right outside the door to the hotel so the cigarette smell inside the entrance was horrible, I wore my mask to keep from breathing it. The breakfast was included in our rate and it was just ok. It wasn't anything exciting but it was better than nothing. The location makes this hotel worth a stay.

We really enjoyed our stay here. It was very centrally located, just a stones throw away from the Metro. We enjoyed an amazing view too. The pictures don't do the hotel justice. My only gripe is that instead of supplying proper shower gel/bodywash they just give tidy 10ml packets. We were 2 people staying for 2 nights and this just simply wasn't enough. Housekeeping did not replenish them.

Fuite de chasse d’eau . salle de bain vétuste , pas de douche , une baignoire avec rideau de douche . L’interrupteur général éclairage coupe l’alimentation de la seule prise à l’entrée, donc impossible de charger un téléphone la nuit. Petit déjeuner correct. Il faut de plus sonner et attendre que l’on vienne vous ouvrir. En résumé ne mérite pas 3 etoiles . Accueil correct

OMG! Where do I start, there is so many things to list what’s wrong with this hotel. I don’t have all day to waste typing a terrible review which it deserves. My only regret is not having a body cam attached, cause for sure an Oscar award for best comedy horror would be a just reward for enduring a single nights stay from the hotel from Hell. Seems like the only thing they got right with this hotel is the name ‘Opera’ (Oscar Award) Deauville (Devil). From the start there was a breakdown in communication due to the fact the receptionists english was reduced significantly. After a long trip and checking-in you might want a nice hot shower before going out. Expect just under warm at best. Instead you might want to top up your body temperature with a cup of hot tea, well, expect to share a tea bag if you are travelling with a partner. When I asked for more tea bags at reception, I was told ‘I gave you that one for free’. Also, the combination of luggage, stairs, and lifts to your room, should flow smoothly like most hotels ‘Right!’… Nope, instead it is the moment your nightmare begins and you start to realise and say to yourself ‘DAMM IT!! why didn’t I F¥€%ing!! read this review on tripadvisor before I booked this hotel from Hell’. Not only did the coffin sized lift breakdown the first night, which meant we had to climb up several flights of a very tiny spiral staircase. Finally getting into our room, we could here our neighbours through the paper thin walls all night. Dusty small rooms, and unclean shower, we couldn’t get out of this hotel quick enough. Honestly not worth the price, pay more if needed but avoid this hotel from Hell, not just for your holiday experience, but more importantly health and safety reasons. You have been warned.

Absolutely perfect- beyond perfect! I cried when we left. We’ve been to Paris a few times and stayed in the area, and love it, but this was our first time with kids. We had ‘The Room’ that is used on the photos and it really really is like that. That view! The place had a great vibe, with staff and other guests being warm and welcoming. We loved the shared fridge and kitchen- perfect for our kids who will only eat cereal for breakfast! The location is perfect. Right next to a lovely play area for kids, Anvers metro station is outside and the Sunday street market that filled then boulevard was great! The room was lovely- very nicely decorated and the kids loved the bunbeds. Loved sitting on our little balcony and enjoying that view. I can’t even write how perfect our stay was. I’ve never seen Paris look so beautiful and we can’t wait to return.

The hotel is in a really nice position very close to the metro station of Jaurès that can get you basically everywhere. The place was clean and there is the chance to leave there your luggage if you come to early for check in or if you need to leave it after check out. That earns the 2 stars in my review. Unfortunately this was probably my worst experience in a hotel. Checking in I was told that we got an upgrade and, instead of our view on the city we got what is supposedly a better room facing an internal wall. I must say that I am not sure if that was really an upgrade because it didn't feel like it - and this makes me wonder what would have been a regular room. Rooms are poorly insulated and I could hear perfectly what was going on in the rooms next to our. The cleaning was good, but unfortunately the cleaning lady forgot to close our door and, when we came back to the hotel in the late afternoon, we found the door open. The only answer we got when we reported the issue was ”oh, that's not good” - indeed it isn't. Growing up in a similar business I have been taught to do what it take to make happy your guests and I found odd that I couldn't get a couple of spoons when I asked for them (”breakfast is closed now so we don't have spoons”). All in all, I wouldn't recommend this hotel. The price doesn't match the service.

Stayed at the hotel back in December 18/January 19 over the new year for 5 nights with my girlfriend. First of all it looked lovely from the outside, really old school, authentic looking french building, very beautiful. It was located in a good location, just a short walk away from the Eiffel Tower and situated around lots of restaurants, cafes & bars! There are also two metro stations very close by and lots of shops. Also we found a brilliant location if you are keen on your walking, if your a keen walker we got to all the major attractions within maximum an hour on foot. The major issue we had with the hotel was the size of the room really, the pictures on the website were very deceiving - ultimately it wasn’t a major issue as we weren’t actually in the room a lot but when your somewhere for 5 days there was limited space in the room to relax and for storage plus the bathroom was VERY small. But the room was always as clean as it could be, it’s very old fashioned and I would say in need of a freshen up but non the less a lovely spot, friendly staff and we enjoyed our stay. The lifts were also very dated and just be careful as you literally walk straight out the lifts on to a spiral staircase, sometimes a little tricky after a sherbert or two.
