The Ship

I had a very enjoyable stay at the Ship in June. The hotel is very well located on the coast with views over the Dee estuary to Wales. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Breakfasts and dinners are excellent. Though lunchtime offerings are now pretty expensive and don't include many sandwiches and so I avoid these. Recommended as a place to visit for a meal or to stay

Yet again, a very enjoyable stay at the Ship. We now go there for every birthday, even though we live a mere 12 miles away! . Efficient and friendly staff. Top noth quality of food. Very quaint, cosy and confortable room. What more to ask? All that 25 minutes from home!

Just returned from a short stay at this hotel and it exceeded our expectations. We had a twin room which was compact but spotlessly clean and had everything we needed. Plenty of tea and coffee, biscuits and fresh bottled water every day. Tissues and complimentary toiletries, hairdryer in the drawer and plenty of wardrobe, hangers and drawer space. We ate in the restaurant our first night and the food was excellent. Breakfast was served until 9.00am mid week and until 10.00am at the weekend and again was top quality. All the staff were friendly and helpful and we would not hesitate to stay again. Thank you

A random booking for a night away. I know Parkgate as was curious to stay at The Ship. What a great stay - the management, owners and staff definitely know what high quality hospitality is and everything is pretty perfect! The location is face fronting over the Dee estuary, with wrap around seats in the front and side outside to take in the sun and the views, and on the first floor are stunning views from an open balcony area with comfy armchairs heaters for a comfy view of the estuary and sunset. The bar and restaurant area is well designed, looks great and the food and beers, wine excellent. The bedroom (27) was rear facing but lovely decor design and well appointed. Service excellent. Dropped a star becuSe I would have liked some French wine on the menu and that the corridor outside the bedroom can be a little noisy in the morning if you want a little lie in. Excellent though - well done.

Lovely hotel with excellent restaurant. It has a wonderful ambience and the staff are an absolute credit, they were such a cheery helpful and professional group of young people. Will definitely revisit if up on the Wirral in the future. Highly recommend.

Good spacious room, with shower room.Nicely decorated with tea and coffee making facilities. Good breakfast choice and excellent evening meal. Choice of real ales.The staff were welcolming, helpful and friendly . Enjoyable stay on the quayside ideal for birdwatching.

Great stay last night. Superb room. Comfy bed. Dreamy pillows Very good dinner. Ive given you 4 stars Why ? Needed an extra scoop of ice cream to help the sticky toffee pudding go down! Charged me £2.50 . I know it sounds niggly, but such a charge leaves a lasting bad impression. Breakfast was excellent All the staff were courteous and efficient

Fantastic! Last minute booking and we weren't disappointed. The food was amazing, the decor was very tastefully done. The breakfast was brilliant, they even had fresh strawberries with a lovely selection of fruit. The rooms were very nice. Only thing I'd say is update the furniture but that's just a minor thing. Bathrooms are lovely. Writing this sat on the upper deck enjoying the sunset! It's that good we booked another night!

Now open again. The Ship has had a refurb since we last visited & looks amazing. Lots of nice areas to sit, lovely Xmas decs & fun outdoor lit & heated areas. Staff were very welcoming, the rooms were very clean & the food was excellent. The best roast dinner I have ever had. Great cooked breakfast, lovely fresh fruit. Well kept beers.
