GGuest UserBefore check-in, I received a warm welcome call asking about my arrival time and room preferences. They were very accommodating with my requests for a high floor and a quiet, non-smoking room. The check-in process was quick upon arrival, and they even offered delicious tea. Breakfast was a buffet, so everyone could choose what they liked – very satisfied!

GGuest UserI initially chose this hotel for its downtown location, as it's a convenient 29-minute walk to tourist attractions, making shopping and dining easily accessible. After checking in, I was pleasantly surprised by the excellent service, including a welcome fruit platter, local pastries, and drinks. The hotel breakfast offered a great variety and was delicious. It was also a nice surprise to have food deliveries brought directly to my room by a robot, which added a cool tech touch. Upon check-out, the front desk even gave me bottled water and 'wife cakes' for my journey, which was incredibly thoughtful. Overall, I had a great experience at this hotel 😊.

GGuest UserLocation is absolutely fantastic: This guesthouse is tucked away in Qifang Alley, truly offering a tranquil escape right in the heart of the bustling city. Just a short walk outside brings you to Furong Street and Quancheng Road, and it's super convenient to get to Daming Lake and Baotu Spring. Yet, the moment you step back into the courtyard, the city's hustle and bustle instantly fades away.
Courtyard experience: I was truly amazed the moment I pushed open the courtyard gate. The courtyard room comes with its own small private yard, complete with bluestone slabs and trickling spring water. It instantly felt like I was transported back to the misty江南 (Jiangnan) region. Sitting in the courtyard during the day, sipping tea and enjoying the breeze while looking at the mottled brick walls, was incredibly relaxing and pleasant. It was the perfect way to experience the laid-back lifestyle of old Jinan.
Room amenities: The room is very well-equipped and spotlessly clean. The decor has a sophisticated New Chinese style, which is both antique and elegant, yet with a modern, luxurious touch. It's also perfect for taking photos! The bedding is very comfortable, and the stand-alone bathtub is an absolute godsend for unwinding.

JJuujuuHuThis is what the meaning of you get what you pay for. As little as the price can be, cannot have such high expectations on reason why you want the greatest of the great.
After reading reviews, many said location was convenient, assuming it would be on the main road but not, i didn't meant as in I felt unsafe, just wasn't what I was expecting (not a big deal). It's inside a building with other hotels. Waiting for the elevator was a nightmare, there was only 1 that goes up and then down, felt like 5min passed, but that's just an exaggeration. If you're in a hurry, make sure to set some time for the elevator run.
I came a bit early, and they accepted my early check in, which was lovely. The employees are very friendly, even giving tours to each new customers checking in. It's a small hostel, place was cleaned often, security was good. It's a bit funny to see the gym room right in the open of the entrance after check in. They had a shoe cabinet, so indoor was slipper only, I like that idea so the room doesn't smell like feet.
Bed was nice, love the shelving unit that can fit lots of stuff too. The lockers are nice, each installed with a rack, convenient to store lots of hangers, space is really big too, enough to fit a backpack in.
The issue I didn't like were the bathroom. I was very amazed yet confused on where do I store my clothes in the shower room, the only privacy being in tact was a curtain, it remains me of those Japanese onsen. Had to makeshift a space for my clothes and towel to be in the shower cubicle. Toilets reminds me of public toilets yet much cleaner and smells better. The sink to brush your teeth is very limited.
Being 4/5 for everything, meant that it wasn't an issue.
Everything was clean, service was great, you have everything you need, doesn't have to be top-tier. It was an experience for me and very budget friendly hotel.

LLvdounanbeiThe breakfast service was excellent, and the congee station was a real highlight. I loved the hotel's 'cheese-like' design; it reminded me of a dormitory I lived in during university – which was also a former hotel converted into student housing, and coincidentally, also located next to a university. This hotel is right by a university too. Overall, everything met my expectations, highly recommend. Picture 3 shows a comparison of the view from my 'cheese-wedge' room at that old dorm – my university was in the Northeast, so many memories flooding back! 😆

GGuest UserThe hotel is in a good location, it is very convenient to travel for food, the interior decoration is simple and atmospheric, and the public areas are clean and elegant. The room was cleaned very meticulously, the sanitary condition was impeccable, the toiletries were complete, the hot water was stable, the air conditioning effect was good, except for the small room, the two beds were a bit crowded, the overall stay was warm and comfortable, and it was quite satisfactory.

GGuest UserEnvironment: It takes less than 5 minutes to get to the Laotun subway station, which is very convenient.
Hygiene: The room is spacious, clean and tidy, and you can see that it is cleaned frequently.
I soaked in the bathtub after a tiring day, which was very comfortable 😌, and I felt that every pore was taken care of.
Service: I checked in at almost 11 o'clock in the evening. The waiter was very friendly and not impatient at all.
When I entered the room, I saw the prepared snacks. People who like to eat midnight snacks said it was very heartwarming 🥰
Facilities: The do not disturb function in the room is really great. I can sleep until the sun rises the next day. It's really great.
Once the curtains are drawn, no one loves them. The airtightness is great.
When I left, the souvenirs I was given included masks. Tears welled up in my eyes🥹. I didn't expect there would be so many catkins in Jinan when I came here, so I didn't prepare them. I didn't expect the hotel to be so considerate and prepare them. When I arrived near Baotu Spring, there were as many catkins as the wind. Thanks to the hotel for providing them😷🥳
I will come to this hotel again next time I come to Jinan. The bed is very comfortable and everything is great. I don't want to leave😋

GGuest UserMy overall stay was very satisfying. The room was clean and tidy, and the facilities were complete and well-maintained. The bedding was comfortable, and I slept soundly. The front desk service was enthusiastic and efficient; both check-in and check-out were quick. The location is also convenient for getting around, right above Wanda Plaza. It offers great value for money, and I'll definitely choose Meilun Hotel again next time I visit!
