"The newly opened guesthouse is right next to a broccoli tree. The floor-to-ceiling windows and viewing platform are particularly beautiful, overlooking the entire village. In the morning, you can see a sea of clouds just by opening the curtains. The owner has his own car, so you can just go out and find him to go to other villages without having to call or wait for a ride. The tea they provide is also very good. Staying in Manghong is a great experience; it's very quiet."

Perfect
TTuoyangpaluoxitingIt's quite good. It's the best business hotel I've stayed in recently. The supplies are complete, the meals are rich, and the service is quite good for a business hotel. As a practitioner in the hotel industry for many years, I feel sorry for the boss. There are too many redundant parts. It's difficult to support such complex supplies, meals, and labor costs at this room rate, and it's a franchise hotel. The hotel is good, but from an investment perspective, you still need to consider the ** time issue.
PPinpinkuoI came from Taiwan on a solo trip after seeing a recommendation on Xiaohongshu. I took a bus from Shaxi to Dali at 9 am, then took the high-speed rail from Dali to Kunming and then to Pu'er. After a long bus ride over mountains, I arrived at the hotel at 8 pm. The warm and comfortable atmosphere of the hotel completely dispelled the hardships of the journey. It was a magical atmosphere. The hotel was very comfortable, and most of the guests were solo female travelers. It was easy to find travel buddies to share meals and make plans to travel to other places next time. Every night, the owner would brew Pu'er tea. I especially liked the unique glutinous rice black tea. While strolling around the hotel, the owner even took me on her little motorcycle to some hidden spots in the mountains to eat, drink, and take photos. In short, it was a wonderful place. When I left, I also took some of my favorite Pu'er tea home to share.
AAnonymous UserHaving seen many reviews about the poor hygiene, inadequate service, and lack of facilities at guesthouses in Jingmai Mountain, I had already lowered my expectations. However, the actual experience exceeded my expectations. They had all the disposable toiletries that hotels usually provide. The owners were incredibly kind, cooking free rice noodles for everyone every morning and inviting guests for tea. In the evenings, they would knock on the door and bring freshly grilled pork belly – it smelled amazing and was incredibly delicious! The guesthouse's location was also fantastic; you could see the sea of clouds right from the window, and it was very quiet at night. It was truly excellent value for money. The owners also sell tea, and I bought some to bring back as gifts for my family before leaving – the prices were very reasonable. Superb!
MMichele GramAmazing stay! The house is located just outside the village on a quiet road. The rooms are super clean, well equipped, and have air conditioning, which is important in winter.
But beyond the house itself, the real highlight is the owner. We shared several tea-drinking sessions where he explained the secrets of Pu’er tea and Bulang traditions and history. Despite the language barrier (we don’t speak Chinese and he doesn’t speak English), he made a huge effort using translator apps, and communication was easy and fun. He is incredibly knowledgeable and kind, we highly recommend spending time drinking tea with him. He also created a WeChat mini-app with guides and information about the area, which we used a lot and found very helpful.
Our stay was unforgettable: the Jingmai mountains were the highlight of our trip to China, and we went home with some amazing Pu’er tea and great memories.
Looking forward to coming back!
GGuest UserExceeded all my expectations of a boutique homestay with only six rooms . Ultra luxury linens and beddings , ,Panasonic view of sea clouds at the confer of your bath tub , tasteful contemporary chinese interiors , and to top it all , run by a simple humble couple who goes to ends to make your stay a comfortable one . When you stay for 3 nights or more , they cook up a storm of local delicacies for your dinner , on top of daily breakfast! Do be prepared breakfasts are local style . Bit there’s a great cafe nearby service Arabica yunna beans and it’s become one of my fave !
Def great value for money !
BBugentuandetuanchangThe owners, a husband and wife, are very kind and helpful. They offered to help with parking and provided travel tips for nearby attractions. The soup for the breakfast noodles was slow-cooked by the owner's wife 🤫 The nearby attractions are all incredibly beautiful.
GGuest UserThe most satisfying hotel in Xishuangbanna + Pu'er travel accommodation!
The inn is with the tea factory. The hotel room is very large and clean, and there is an outdoor small yard.
Behind the inn is a small tea forest, climbing a small slope along the path, which is the inn's own viewing platform, you can see the sunrise and sunset, very convenient, the scenery is unexpectedly good.
The proprietress and the proprietress’s sister are beautiful and enthusiastic. When they arrived, they caught up with the local pig feast and invited us to participate. In the evening, there was a stove to make tea, roast sweet potatoes, tasted local oranges and peanuts. It was a very good experience of local culture.
Although it was with the tea factory, no one sold us tea throughout the whole process. Finally, I asked and bought some tea cakes. Black tea and white tea went back. They were all very delicious!
The hotel is located on the outermost side, there is a parking place, there are charging piles, except for the innermost stockade to be opened farther, everything else is great!
GGuest UserA very sweet family! We were immediately invited for tea, and I even tasted their homemade dragon fruit wine. Breakfast and dinner were delicious, well-prepared, and we also found them inexpensive. They're almost always around to help, but clearly have their own activities at the same time—a nice balance.
The accommodation feels a bit like a small farm: there are several animals on site. They and the neighbors also have super sweet, affectionate dogs and a cat. They romp and play together all day long and love to come and visit. I absolutely fell in love with the neighbor's puppy.
Price-wise, this place is really affordable compared to other accommodations in the area. The room is fine: not huge, but big enough (and you're mostly outside anyway). The bed is firm, which we actually appreciated. The toilet is a squat toilet and has hot water.
The shared terrace is a highlight: a beautiful view of the mountains and the valley, and you look out onto the ”sea of clouds”—magical, especially in the morning.
We didn't have a car, but we were able to rent a scooter here for 50 yuan a day. It was so much fun and made our stay even better than we could have imagined: the two of us explored the entire area.
The bus stops about 1 km away, and for the return trip to Pu'er, they helped us with a shared ride. They're a truly warm family who plan your trip with you and are always willing to help.
If we return, we would definitely stay here again. Thank you!
P.S. Near the accommodation, there's also a family that sells homemade tea sets made with special clay. Highly recommended!
JJonasWe (2 German travellers) have been in the area of Jingmaishan and wanted to stay a night somewhere. The hotel is about 2 km away from Wengji Ancient Village, that means 30 mins by foot. At first, we wabted to book our hotel directly in the village, but it turns out that booking Diwanara hotel was the best thing that could have happened. The host, who grew up there and is member of the Lahu-Minority is so warm-hearted, he sits in front of his house drinking tea the whole day and we would never leave or come back without being invited to drink some of his homemade tea. He has tea fields 10 mins away from his hotel, and he even took us there to teach us how to collect the tea. Also he cooks breakfast for his guests, which is just delicious. For everybody who, besides the quite commercialised Wengji Village, also wants to have an authentic experience, we can warmly recommend Diwanara hotel.
JjennylindaFacilities: Squat toilet, please consider carefully if you mind.
Cleanliness: Fairly clean, bed is neither too soft nor too hard.
Environment: Roads run in front and behind, very poor soundproofing, not recommended for those who don't sleep well. The view from the window is as shown in picture one.
Service: The front desk wasn't there when we arrived, so we waited a while. The owner was very welcoming and gave us the fruit shown in picture two. We were originally staying for two days, but because of our sleep problems, the owner readily agreed to let us check out early.
Location: Located in Mangjing Shangzhai, very close to Manghong and Wengji Ancient Village. It's a short drive to see the Queen Bee Tree and Princess Banyan.
