CClaire MPapali was on the first floor of a very old building, so expect to walk up a few steps with your luggage, because there's no elevator ... But, the Signore who welcomed us was very friendly and even went downstairs - while I already could go into our room - to help my husband find a parking spot on the street nearby.
We had a very good night in a simple, but super clean and quite big room, comfy bed as well ... Bathroom was nice and clean with plenty of towels ...
The first picture I took in the morning after our night at Papali out from the balcony, the second was taken in the morning when we had our breakfast served kindly in the little dining area ...
Btw, Papali is located wonderfully - it's an easy walk to all the main sightseeing spots of Catania! I added some pictures of our evening walk ...
Summary: Papali is a great choice locationwise and if you do not want to spend too much, but still want to have a cozy night at a simple but friendly and nice place.

GGranster72A beautifully renovated hotel in the old style perfectly located in the central old town of Catania.
Star all spoke English beautifully the room was a upstairs downstairs loft very comfortable with a magnificent ensuite.
Great views great location fantastic rooftop restaurant with bar both indoor an outdoor seating, which was terrific becauseit was quite chilly for a couple of nights I stayed there

GGuest UserThis hotel in Catania is not far from the old town, about a 15-20 minute walk. There's a metro station right outside the hotel, but the train station is a bit of a 20-minute walk away. The hotel offers a 24-hour tea room, which many guests use for refreshments and drinks. Unfortunately, the hotel originally provided ice for drinking, but when I tried to get some, the staff told me the ice machine was broken. The staff was very helpful and said that guests could get a free breakfast by checking their website. With their help, we were able to secure a complimentary breakfast. The breakfast was plentiful and delicious. There are two supermarkets next to the hotel, making it convenient for me to buy food and drinks.

SsundncrThis is a wonderful location to stay a night before an early morning flight to the airport. The stay was wonderful too. The hotel has a big pool to relax and the grounds are kept neat. The room had a view of Mount Etna and it was thrilling to see the Mountain during Sunrise. The staff were friendly and receptive. Rooms were large with a big clean bed and linens. Bathroom was more than average size. It was a good and relaxing stay. I think parking is free here. There is a bit of Industrial area around the hotel, but it is very safe. Saw plenty of families with kids enjoying their stay. The hotel has a wonderful restaurant to try the local food. English is spoken by almost all the staff.

GGuest UserThe room is good. Although old, it is very clean. The built-in facilities have also been updated. Hot water is fast and the water pressure is very high.
The worst is actually Trip.com ! Book 480rmb online, not contributo di soggiorno, pay all breakfast and CDS at the front desk of the store for 54 euros. Awesome Trip.com !
