Great
YYi-Tzu ChenA good option for solo skiing in Asahikawa. After breakfast, head to the bus station. I personally think walking to the OMO7 bus stop (about 10 minutes) is better, as you can board directly. If that's closer, you can go to the station bus stop (7 minutes), but you'll have to wait for the bus. The advantage is you can leave later, but the disadvantage is that it might be full and you'll have to wait for an extra bus or sit in the aisle.
Free chicken curry rice is available on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays at 7 PM.
New towels and toothbrushes are provided daily. Lotion can be picked up in the lobby on the first floor.
Delivery packages (ski equipment, etc.) can be collected.
The room is spacious for one person, and economical for two.
GGuest UserWe chose this ryokan for its proximity to Asahikawa Zoo. With a rental car, its location was convenient. The room featured traditional tatami mats and futons for our family of four. The highlight was the in-house ‘onsen’ bath, which we enjoyed without any additional fees. The attentive staff surprised us by clearing the snow off our car after a heavy snowstorm. Senshoen gets my highest recommendation for its service, comfort, and lovely garden.
GGuest UserIt's an older business hotel, but the location is quite convenient. They also offer paid parking at 800 JPY per day with unlimited in/out privileges. Most staff were friendly and welcoming, except for one manager-like figure (in a black suit, rarely at the front desk) who seemed rather unwelcoming and didn't smile. The buffet breakfast wasn't overly extensive but was perfectly adequate. During the evening Happy Hour from 6 PM to 8 PM, they offered all-you-can-eat curry rice and one complimentary drink, including alcoholic options.
AAl-GaibHotel Route Inn Grand is a decent hotel that meets basic expectations. The 'Grand' version, being a step up from the regular Route Inn, fulfilled my minimum requirements for accommodation. I've stayed in at least four of them across Hokkaido, and they're consistently neither surprising nor disappointing. That day, I visited Shikisai no Oka in Biei, which was absolutely beautiful.
ZZhouyoujixiaozhouDue to frequent JR cancellations during my arrival, I considered canceling my Asahikawa trip. Despite multiple attempts to communicate with the hotel and the platform, and providing JR's official cancellation notice, the hotel's firm refusal to issue a refund was truly disappointing. The hotel itself is decent; its strengths are its direct visibility from Asahikawa Station and the spacious rooms. There's a more famous hotel across the street, but overall, the hotel's facilities are quite old, and the experience wasn't particularly cozy. It's acceptable as a stopover for exploring the surrounding areas.
GGuest UserI've stayed here several times because it's close to the station and reasonably priced.
The parking attendants and front desk staff are very friendly.
Aeon is within walking distance, and I ended up parking my car in an affiliated parking lot, which was much cheaper than in town.
The large public bath isn't very large, but it's very relaxing to soak in.
This time, there were no Chinese tourists around, so it was very quiet, which was great.
GGuest UserWe stayed in a room with a good view of the farmers fields and distant forest, it’s a great place for walks and cycling. There’s a Seicomart convenience store nearby. The house is comfortable and roomy. The hosts are welcoming and friendly. My suggestion for improvement would be to replace the existing soft sagging mattress and not charge guests for usage of towels.
LLeo@HKThis is a traditional, family-run inn that truly excels in hospitality and personal charm. I booked a room with a private bath; it was exceptionally spacious at nearly 40 square meters, and we had the entire floor to ourselves. Our private bath was conveniently located directly on the rooftop, situated at the highest point of the small hill, offering an amazing soaking experience. The family operates their own restaurant, and both breakfast and dinner were delightful. This was our children's favorite hotel of the entire trip, providing fantastic value for money. They even have a nostalgic 90s-era arcade! It's definitely a top choice for travelers on a self-drive trip. The owner and staff were incredibly warm, enthusiastic, and kind. A huge thank you once again for their wonderful hospitality!
GGuest UserA room is not that small. It's fit for 2 people and luggages. I recommend for who want to stay and have low budget (but want a comfortable room)
JJack288Clean, great, comfortable, and spotless. I'd definitely choose to stay here again next time. It's a fantastic option with a very convenient location, close to lots of shopping and plenty of food and drink options nearby. It's just super convenient overall.
