To be honest slightly disappointed, the staff were amazing, the food ok. Breakfast was not good get it yourself from what’s left out which was toast, cereals etc and pre packed croissants. Only butter I could find was in a tub that goodness knows how many other people had put knifes and goodness knows what in. I also asked for an iron and the one I was given didn’t work, was promised a replacement and it never materialised. As such the score of 3 but please think about breakfasts etc and menu as it would make a massive difference. Thanks

Booked dinner b&b here and were so disappointed. First off the beer was flat and the staff seemed unsure why, then they admitted all the hand pumped beer was off. The dinner menu was ok & the food average. The room was very small and hot, the shower tiny , but the worst was the “breakfast”. Unavailable until after 8.30 - odd since it was self service and almost everything was wrapped in plastic. Even the coffee from the machine was awful.

Delightful pub with lots of character, nice rooms, good food / drink and a tranquil setting. A real hidden gem in the English countryside. Efficient booking not withstanding various changes we had to make due to changing family plans. Thoroughly recommended!

Hidden Gem in Sunny Sussex Beautiful pub, great atmosphere made very welcome by all the staff Phillipa and Katie made us so welcome and helped us through the menu so ordering food for our lunch was a dream This chef can cook and didn’t hold back on presentation or taste, wow, everything ordered exceeded expectations including the drinks, best pint of Guinness ☘️ for ages Recommend coming here to chill out and relax in the garden during the Summer Affordable quality food and drink 🍷 🍻 🍲 Had my first taste of Hawkstone lager, sorry Jeremy but not for me 😊 There is a rumour that 🇪🇸 Cruz Campo may be arriving soon, good move 🍻 Great little pub, bbs 👍

Dinner for three. One fish and chips, two ham, egg and chips. Both copious. Ice cream and two cheesecakes. Busy but service attentive and quick. I stayed overnight. Slept well though might have been even better if the Velux window had had a blind on it, especially in mid-summer.

Mum, sister and I enjoyed Sunday lunch roasts, mum lamb, sister beef and me nut roast, all cooked to perfection. A good variety of veg was served and not overdone. The staff were friendly and unobtrusive. I shall definitely go back as it was the best nut roast I've had in a long time.

We received a very warm welcome and our room was modern and very clean. The pub has a relaxed atmosphere of a proper village pub with friendly locals, excellent food and very helpful staff. Nothing was too much trouble and our 4 golden retrievers were made very welcome. We would definately stay again and recommend.

Lovely local pub, our room was excellent. Evening meal in the restaurant was great. An adequate self service continental breakfast was fine and we could order a hot breakfast if desired. The steep stairs to the bedrooms may be an issue for some.
