Cornerstone Bed and Breakfast

Lovely B&B just outside the bustle of central Philly, yet close to many sites! Within walking distance to Temple and many great eating locations, this charming find was quite, quaint, clean, and welcoming in many ways. Brian, Sarah, and Yolanda made sure our second stay here was just as superb as the first... top-notch service, attention to details and accommodations, and delicious snacks and a breakfast that was amazing! We look forward to our next trip into the city so we can be pampered by their hospitality again! Thank you!

Our visit to Philadelphia was enhanced by our stay at the Cornerstone B&B. We had chosen to stay there due to its excellent reviews, convenient location, and reasonable prices. Brian was a gracious and solicitous innkeeper who made us feel welcome and well looked after. The breakfasts and baked goods he made were outstanding. A large tea selection was available all day long. With respect to our room, we particularly appreciated the newly remodeled bathroom with a spacious shower. However, the porch unexpectedly became our favorite place to spend some time, even during a heat wave. It was cool enough to have breakfast on the porch and to read there in the evening. The interior of this historic inn is lovely, and the library/parlor next to the dining room was another comfortable place to relax. The soundproofing between rooms was great and we couldn’t hear the TV or any other sounds from other rooms. We also made good use of the guest refrigerator and microwave on our floor to keep leftovers for another meal and to keep water bottles cold. We hope to stay there again during another trip to Philadelphia. Transportation tips: If you visit as we did without a car, Cornerstone is strategically located for public transit. It’s under 10 minutes from the Amtrak station by a bus (#31) that stops across the street from the B&B’s front door. The bus stop for the return trip is just one block away. The Market-Frankford subway line is a 10-minute walk away. You can walk to the Philadelphia Museum of Art in 15 minutes, or in bad weather you can catch the #38 bus two blocks from the B&B for a 5-minute ride to the Museum’s back/west entrance (avoiding the Rocky steps!). From the Museum you can continue on the #38 – or the Phlash bus in summer months – to Center City for historical and other sites.

The place is very Beautilful, room superb, bed very confortable, breakfast very good but the main thing is the service. Cornerstone is near Philadelphia Museum of Art and Drexel University Brain make this stay absolutely wonderful. Thanks for all. Thank you too his student-employee (Step and Anna ?)

Spent a wonderful weekend at the Cornerstone. My husband and I stayed in the University room and it was beautiful. We had a sitting room with small couch and smart TV. The bedroom had the most comfortable king bed. We enjoyed having ice right outside our room in the small kitchen area. There were treats left out in the downstairs common area each day. We enjoyed having our breakfast in the peaceful courtyard each morning. And after a day of seeing the sights of Philly we enjoyed sitting in the rocking chairs on the covered porch. Brian was welcoming and very helpful.

In the middle of a busy neighborhood my stay was delightfully quiet and restful. The room was clean and the bed very comfortable. The victorian decor matches the architecture and the ceiling in the dining room is spectacular! Breakfast on the beautiful patio surrounded by trees and flowers was delicious and the innkeeper was so helpful with tips to get me to places I wanted to go.

The house is lovely. Brian was an excellent and attentive host. The room was comfortable and the bathroom was recently remodeled. There were snacks and wine, tea, and water available in the evening. Because the room I was in did not have an en suite bathroom (although the bathroom was private), bathrobes were provided. I understand that most rooms in the house have en suite bathrooms. Limited parallel parking was available on the street at night; daytime parking was limited to 2 hours from 9 am to 5 pm.

What a great place to stay! Bed was SO comfortable and breakfast was delicious each morning. The covered porch was fantastic for breakfast or just to relax with a coffee or book. I was driving in and uncertain of my arrival time due to traffic - Cornerstone made it so easy to check in "after hours" that it took the worry from my mind - in fact, they reached out to me to organize it! The cookies in the room on arrival, the home-baked goods, coffee and water available in the dining room all day, lots of little touches that made this stay a step above a hotel. And...the staff is so welcoming and friendly - made it feel like you were staying with good friends. I was a little worried about parking but never had an issue parking on the street right in front - and it was graduation weekend! Will definitely stay again when I am in Philadelphia!

Oh my gosh, the best experience ever. Super comfortable room and bed. Fantastic hosts. Brian is the best. Really had a wonderful time and if ever in Philly again, Will stay nowhere else. Great location, great house and great hostess. I highly recommend to anyone that wants to just get away. Philly has some fantastic food spots as well, Brian will give you recommendations.

Cornerstone is a special B & B because you are made to feel special while there. Breakfasts are fabulous, afternoon treats are above & beyond and the rooms are beautiful and comfortable. I love sitting on the porch surrounded by beautiful gardens. This is my favourite place to stay when in Philly!
