Racha, you are truly beautiful. Your beauty makes one forgive the choppy boat ride, the initial desolation upon arriving on the island, and some of your high prices. The breakfast was delicious, but there were a lot of flies. The sunset dinner was amazing – one of the few meals in Thailand that wasn't overly salty. Because Racha is so beautiful, I took many photos there. And because the shower oil smelled so good, I bought a bunch to give as gifts. One night feels a bit rushed, two nights is just right, and three nights might be boring. (I have to praise the island's ecology; I saw so many lizards, which made me very happy. The cats on the island are very friendly, especially the little white cat in the picture – the best tour guide on the island, who led us to the lizards! Big praise!) I hope Racha can speed up its Chinese services. Most of the people on the island are Chinese, but the app that was supposedly available in Chinese was all in English.

The Racha is my favorite hotel, and I keep coming back to it. I've stayed here many times over the years, and for me, it's still one of the best places for a vacation in Thailand. The pleasant experience begins from the moment guests are welcomed. This time, we were especially delighted – upon check-in, we received an upgrade to a villa with a private pool. This was a wonderful start to our vacation and left us with very warm feelings. Such gestures truly show care for guests. The service, attention to detail, and atmosphere here are always top-notch. The rooms are beautifully decorated, always clean, and well-maintained. Housekeeping is excellent, and the staff are friendly and welcoming. The breakfasts deserve special mention – they are truly magnificent here. But the main advantage of The Racha is the unique island atmosphere. There's a special energy here, incredible nature, the most beautiful sea, and a feeling of complete seclusion. That's why I want to return here again and again. Unfortunately, during this visit, there were moments that somewhat marred our vacation. Firstly, my birthday passed without any compliment from the hotel. Of course, it's a minor detail, but as a loyal guest, I would have been very pleased to receive even a small token of appreciation. Secondly, I had contacted the hotel in advance about organizing a romantic dinner for my birthday. They declined, explaining that the service had already been booked by other guests. However, on my actual birthday, I didn't see a single organized romantic dinner, so the situation remained unclear to me. The most unpleasant moment was food poisoning after dinner at the hotel restaurant. On my birthday, I felt seriously ill after a fish dish. Fortunately, there's a medical professional on the island who examined me in the morning, prescribed treatment, and provided the necessary medications. The room was quite old and the decor was very plain. The hotel service was also just average. I guess you're really just paying for the view. The shower gel bottle in the bathroom was so slippery that I dropped and broke it. Instead of asking if I was hurt or anything, they immediately came up and started hounding me for money. Stayed for two nights. First, the pros: The scenery is beautiful – the sea, beach, resort, and sunset are all stunning. The beach has powdery sand, which is pretty good for Thailand. 99% of the guests are Chinese, and there are an *extremely* high number of people dressed up for photos. Now, the cons: 1. The in-room facilities are genuinely a bit old. 2. Despite 99% of guests being Chinese, there are no Chinese signs anywhere in the resort, not even a Chinese menu. So, if your English isn't great, you might feel a subtle sense of unfriendliness or even disdain. 3. The boat to the island is just a standard speedboat, the kind that seats 20-30 people. (This was okay for me, I can accept it, but if you're paying a premium, you might feel let down). 4. The beach isn't private. (I can also tolerate this). 5. The selection of alcoholic beverages is very limited. If you enjoy drinking on vacation, I recommend bringing your own to the island. For reference, a bottle of Chang beer on the island costs 234 THB. 6. The service in general is quite mediocre. One male supervisor at a restaurant had a decent attitude. This isn't just a hotel, it's like they've packed an entire tropical paradise and brought it to life! 🌴 The clear pool is like a sapphire set amongst the coconut groves, and the thatched-roof bungalows feel straight out of an island photoshoot. The room was great! Even though there were quite a few insects at night, the staff kept it spotless. The main restaurant had delicious food, but the Sunset Bar was just okay. The hotel environment is beautiful, and the ocean view right outside is incredible. We even saw the island's unique tree frogs!

An absolutely terrible experience!!! I've never stayed in such a bad hotel!!! Firstly, I booked the 11 AM boat to the island via email, and I arrived early at the waiting room, only to depart from there at 11:30 AM. After taking the bus to the pier, we basically boarded the boat at 12 PM. This was a huge delay, so unpunctual, wasting our time and making us wake up early for nothing. After arriving on the island, the front desk told me that a wheel on my suitcase had fallen off. Throughout the entire conversation, she just informed me, without a single apology. Guests entrust their luggage to the hotel for transportation, and you are responsible for taking care of guests' luggage and property safety. She said they would repair it for me. I looked at the wheel, and it was obvious that the plastic inside was broken, not just a loose screw. They took my suitcase away. After it was returned, I found that the inner lining of my suitcase was stained with black machine oil, which couldn't be wiped off. They offer a free shuttle service, which you can book in advance via email. There are three time slots to choose from. We opted for the 11:30 AM transfer to the island, which required us to arrive at the Chalong Pier Racha lounge around 10:00 AM. There, you can pre-select your room's essential oil scent and enjoy some light refreshments. The speedboat transfer is convenient; they'll place your luggage right at your door, and you just leave it there when you check out. Upon arrival, you're greeted with refreshing towels and drinks. The water quality wasn't great; I'm not sure if it was a March issue, but the water that came out was yellowish. You can order room service, and the noodles were quite good. The island has a happy hour from 5:30 PM to 6:30 PM, where drinks are discounted. All expenses are simply charged to your room number and settled upon checkout. The beach in front of the hotel was very clean and pleasant to walk on. The sea was also very clean; the environment was simply outstanding. However, the room we stayed in had a strong odor. The staff mentioned it had just been renovated three months prior, and perhaps the hot weather made the smell more intense. Even though they sprayed some air freshener later, it was still a bit uncomfortable for me as I'm sensitive to smells. Didn't want to leave! Especially the sea-view room we stayed in later – with the bed facing the ocean, it was absolutely incredibly comfortable. Ambiance: It's all about the natural environment here. Don't expect fancy decor; the natural surroundings are definitely a huge plus, beautiful everywhere you look. Cleanliness: Honestly, for a hotel by the sea, it was incredibly well-maintained. And even if the tiles aren't high-end, they're mold-free and easy to clean, which is great. Service: I thought it was excellent. This hotel is severely discriminatory and overtly biased against Chinese guests. The experience was absolutely terrible; I strongly advise everyone to avoid it! Throughout my stay, I felt blatant double standards: Chinese guests were forbidden from sitting at the seaside tables in the restaurant, while foreign guests could sit wherever they pleased. The staff's attitude was arrogant and aggressive. The front desk deliberately assigned all the undesirable rooms at the end of the corridors to Chinese tourists, reserving the prime locations for foreigners.
