Excellent service by very friendly staff! They'll help you with just about everything you need. Not much English is spoken, so if you can't speak Chinese, prepare some phrases you can use ahead of time. My room was on the second floor and was large, clean and comfortable. There are first-floor rooms, but I imagine if you stayed in them they would be noisy because you would hear people talking in the courtyard. The location is kind of a drawback -- it's not too far from the restaurants and stores by the west gate, BUT it is like a ten-minute walk, and at night it's quite dark. It's easy to feel creeped out or to get lost, particularly if you're coming from the south of the city. It might be more pleasant to stay there with someone else so you have someone to walk with. It's also quite far from the more famous locations, most of which are in the south part of the city. They have an 11 pm curfew because the elderly people who live around the inn don't want noise or light from the front desk area late at night. One unusual thing is that one night a family with a dog stayed there. Maybe pets are okay, which is not common. I'd send them a message to make sure before you arrive, though, just to make sure.
