Hotels near Department of Political Sciences, Pisa

I booked this hotel after seeing another reviewer say that they stayed here as a solo female traveller and found it clean and safe. I would echo this reviewer's comments. I stayed here for five nights, and used Pisa as a base to travel to other places (namely Lucca, Firenze, and Siena) so wanted somewhere within a reasonable walking distance of the train station as I envisioned returning to the hotel when it was dark. I took the 'Pisa mover' shuttle from the airport to Pisa Centrale station (which cost €5 and took around 5 minutes), and then the walk to Hotel Bologna with my suitcase was in pretty much a straight line through the main square and down paved and well lit streets. It took around 7 minutes to walk from the station to the hotel. I arrived at Hotel Bologna at around 10:00 and was able to leave my suitcase in a secure room (no charge) whilst I spent the day exploring Pisa. I came back around 18:00, collected my case, and formally checked in (although I could have checked in at 13:30) before heading out for dinner. Staff were mainly young and male, and were pleasant and spoke very good English. I was allocated room 16 which was on the first floor and overlooked the small car park and a patio area. There was no external noise apart from the odd aeroplane which cannot be helped anywhere in Pisa, although I imagine that (1) people might use the patio for drinks in better/warmer weather which would bother me if they were rowdy; and (2) people in the rooms which overlook the road at the front of the hotel (Via Giuseppe Mazzini) might experience a bit of traffic noise. The internal walls seemed quite thin and I suspect that the bathroom of the adjoining room was located right next to my bed as it was noisier than expected when they were having a shower and talking in the bathroom. However, luckily, the people next door weren't particularly noisy and showered at a reasonable time, so it didn't bother me per se. I stayed in a single room (single bed with en-suite) which was definitely big enough for just myself/did not feel cramped. The room was decorated in a more 'traditional Tuscan style' (think greens, reds, and golds) so not particularly 'instagram worthy' but neither am I. The room and bathroom felt and were kept very clean by housekeeping, as were the bedding and towels. The bathroom contained a toilet, shower cubicle with sliding doors, bidet, sink with large mirror, tissue dispenser, sanitary bag dispenser, toilet brush, bin with lid, and hairdryer. You receive complimentary shampoo, body wash, intimate wash, vegetable based soap bar, shower cap, and shoe sponge. In the bedroom there is another bin and a desk and chair with large mirror. Underneath the desk is a mini fridge containing a range of drinks and snacks, which I removed and instead used the fridge to store my own food and drink which I purchased from a Carrefour Express minimart which was a circa 5 minute walk away near the main shopping street. It is very convenient to walk a few minutes away from pisa tower. The door of the flight that arrived late at night was locked and tossed for a while before entering. The environment is good. The bathing facilities are a little rudimentary, and the breakfast is served in the yard. The MM service at the front desk on the first floor is very good, helping to print train timetables and tickets. Italian thieves must pay attention to the safety of their property.

we stayed here for one night - it's an ok hotel, walking distance from the train station which was a priority for us. The rooms were clean and in reasonable order and the breakfast was good. The one issue for us was the noise of the elevator - we were in room 112 which is located next to the elevator shaft - it was noisy as the lift seemed to be operating throughout the night.

I booked one day to just sleep over at this place, but really loved its service and the facilities. Breakfast was tasty and had multiple options. The only minus is the location, which is around 25 minutes' walk to the city center and 40 minutes to the railway station.

The only a little negative thing is that if you keep the windows open there is enough confusion in the street, But it is normal being in the Montmartre neighborhood. The hotel has a very comfortable and quiet Covid prevention room. Available in the room machine for coffee, bottle of water and products packed for breakfast. Outside the room, refrigerator and microwave available to guests. Also the bathroom, though in common with other rooms, It is very clean and some accessories show great attention to guests (baby water reducer, dental debris and available cotton disks, together with cleaner-hygienic available with use and throw paper sausages). Michele is a person of a great kindness, available to provide useful information and guidance. By wishing, there is the possibility of parking the car in a small parking right next to the building, and if it was necessary to leave it parked for a few days, in our case Michele had offered to change

Me and my boyfriend stayed here for 5 days and we loved every minute ! It was amazing ! People were lovely and anything we needed help with such as public transport or ordering a taxi they were happy to help. We booked breakfast included which was definitely worth it as the breakfast had a variety of options and it was delicious. The location of the hotel wasn’t in the central of Pisa but still a great place to have it and a bus stop is right outside the hotel so once we had figured out the bus system it was super useful. Overall a great hotel and great customer service.

I must have started this review about 5 times because I don't really want to be negative, but then again I don't want to be positive either! We stayed here for one night, and it was enough - much like Pisa itself I feel - one day/night is enough! The location is well out of Pisa - taxi will cost in the region of €25, but if you like the idea of their thermal pools, saunas, etc it's worth it. Our room was a split level - bed above the en-suite with a decent sitting/chilling area downstairs. However I use the term ”chilling” ironically because the AC couldn't get near coping - despite having it working as hard as it could for the entire stay, it only managed to cool the room by less than one degree celsius. Opening the windows didn't help, but they opened into a corridor anyway, so privacy was a concern. Once you actually see a member of staff in the thermal baths/spa area (they seem to be rather sp**** and stay hidden - pretty sure I read that in someone else's review), they are lovely, but I genuinely felt awkward asking them to show us around - which is what the hotel receptionist had told us to ask! When we checked in, we were informed of a ”party” being hosted on the terrace that evening with food (not beverages) costing €90 each. We may have been tempted, but decided that given we were only there for one night, we'd eat in Pisa itself. On returning to the hotel we grabbed a couple of drinks at the bar and were invited (by who appeared to be the Food and Beverage manager) to enjoy our drinks on the terrace with the live music still playing - this was lovely and very thoughtful - certainly the highlight of our stay at the hotel. All in all, it's somewhat aged and needs a bit of TLC, possibly understaffed a little, and in a rural location. That said, the staff are very good and the location makes it wonderfully peaceful and relaxing. The thermal baths are beautiful and somewhat unique so it's very ”different” and for a night-or-two, you can't go wrong. I don't regret booking it, and if the AC had worked, so would probably have been a far more positive review.

We traveled to hotel end of June / beg July. We arrived late so restaurant just closing. We then had a very poor dining experience at a local bar and vowed not to return there. We had very helpful hotel reception staff from Fabrizio and Serena who helped us so much during our visit. We would like to commend some very special staff in the hotel: Laura, Beatrice, Gabriel Senior / Gabriel Junior and Flavia who made our stay brilliant with their happy faces and helpfulness at Breakfast and Dinner (when we dined there.) Special thanks to our room lady who helped sort our room daily and who went beyond her job and sorted out our balcony lounger. Pool was wonderful - beach was great / sandy - took some travelling out to get to swim. Had a lovely few nights with pianist in bar where Savioure was a brilliant master of the bar - listening to all stories and could make a great Martini. Take care to make sure you click on / off any buses using credit cards and also dont forget to validate your train tickets as can be a pricey fine. We had a great holiday. Thanks to all xx PS Taxi arrangements (airport transfer) through hotel are very unreliable though so although prices quoted at hotel are not valid and paid extra on arrival and hotel bookings unreliable as our return home, the taxi never arrived despite checking with hotel x2 prior to departure so required another company to get us to airport.

The hotel is by the sea, the room by the sea is small, but the scenery is good. There is a Beijing restaurant 100 meters away. In addition, my friend hotel (amici imei) is expensive and not tasty, not recommended. The hotel provides parking spaces, 16 euros a night, just opposite the hotel public parking area, it is convenient.
