I agree with the previous review of villa 23 as their were a lot of faults and the description and pictures were obviously of a show house and not what they rent out. The decor was basic, no colourful bed spreads as pictured ,furniture very old and dark , some of the bedside cabinets fell apart as soon as you opened the door the knobs would fall off, cooker very slow and poor kitchen utensils one tea towel, the safe would not work as batteries kept moving and in the end the maintenance guy had to leave us the key. The sofa was very uncomfortable 2 2 seater sofas for a villa for 6 people , no cushions, requires an interior designer as inside is basic and could create a nice villa if they spent some money. The front door lock was loose and could easily be prized open , I’m sure they have noticed this if we did but not done anything about 5his. One of the internal door keys were bent and when pointing this out there seemed little concern from maintenance man. The television would not work and it was a faulty free view box and the replacement was no better with a poor signal that kept breaking up. The pool was good but promises to come and clean it every 2 days did not happen and dirt would soon be on the bottom from the overlying tree. Only on our last day did he come to thoroughly clean the pool but no check on the chlorine levels were done on the 3 times the maintenance guy came. Came back one day to find the kitchen and bedroom windows open , cleaners had left these open , the kitchen window hard to close and the maintenance man called again. He spoke little English , had no charm and ignored us most of the time. There were 2 en-suites the bedroom in the annex at other side of the kitchen appeared newer with a nicer en-suite and walk in shower with solid furniture. All the beds were comfortable , plenty of wardrobe space and coat hangers. The pool was not heated most of the time and on the last day the electric box was opened and a switch turned on and warm began to flow through ( obviously for the new people) no doubt this will be turned off again. The villa and complex is a couple of Km,s away from the resort and nothing around there, a car is needed, avoid the Virginia oasis supermarket , bought essential items including milk and the Spanish owner distracted us trying to sell us a toothbrush and as we turned around they must have placed milk under the counter as it was not in the bag we had packed when back at the villa. I returned to claim the milk but they said they did not understand. This was amongst social housing and locals were stood around congregating outside and it seemed a little intimidating. It was good that it was very quiet as a lot of villas around were empty. The complex is gated but you have to ring when arrive at the gate for the code but the phone was not set up for Spain , it was only the taxi driver who helped us contact the owner. No codes were given in the booking literature.
