We had a few issues with the villa on arrival. One off the doors wouldn't close or lock properly and maintenance weren't able to fix. I was told no other villas available just a larger bungalow at extra cost. I was also told they could do nothing until the following day and expected us to stay in a villa with a door which wouldn't lock or close properly. I was obviously not going to accept that and fortunately they managed to get the door to lock from the inside until it was fixed the following day. The shower flooded on our arrival and maintenance had to unblock the drain. The design of the on suite shower is a joke. The basin isn't deep enough and water escapes and makes the bathroom soaking wet. The outside light bulb had gone and I was not given the safe card at reception when I checked. Just annoying when you just arrive with the family and want to relax. We waited in Baileys Bar for hrs until they finally gave us the keys after 4PM. We had lunch at Baileys, they only gave us the expensive menu and did not make us aware off the lunch time menu which we only discovered later on. Even after I mentioned this to the owner ”Bailey” it happened again. My kids preferred the lunch time offerings and it was a lot cheaper. It was a shame as otherwise Baileys is an ok place to drink and eat. The pools were ok but need maintenance, tiles falling off. the whole place needs a make over. We had a car and I am glad we did, I used the larger Hippo supermarket in Playa Blanca which was fine for the essentials. The smaller Hippo Express were more expensive. We liked Playa Blanca, lots off restaurants. We esp liked it a around the Rubicon Marina and surrounding area. Some nice Tapas restaurants. The weather was random, cloudy in the mornings and sunny in the afternoons, also it could get v windy which was annoying. There was no option for late checkout or early check in, even after asking weeks in adv. Strange as a lot off villas were empty. Would we go again to JDS? Maybe once its been done up.

We’ve stayed at Palmeras Gardens a few times. It was / still sometimes is a lovely peaceful resort. The pool is fab, the people who work there are very helpful and friendly. People commenting on lack of kids clubs or general entertainment are missing the point of this place, it’s meant to be quiet and peaceful. There are plenty of sun beds around the pool but on the days it gets busy, there’s not enough. And that’s often down to the towels down at 9am, get there at 12pm brigade. There are also often large family groups staying and when 13 towels are down with no one using them, it’s a tad frustrating. We rented a bungalow. Ideal for our needs. But the walls are paper thin. You hear every cough, sneeze, door squeak and voice as if they are in the room with you. There were too many broken nights’ sleep and we were tired for a lot of the holiday. And that’s the rub… I don’t want to be constantly woken up by someone getting in at 1 or 2am. I want to relax. So we won’t be back. But that said, it really is a lovely resort and on its quiet days and nights, I couldn’t recommend it highly enough.

My husband and l just back home from having had just the best holiday at your amazing PY, l know I have said before in the many times we as well as my family have it really is “Simply the Best”, in the numerous times we have stayed, l simply cannot fault this hotel in any way, from the room, food, staff, cleanliness, the whole experience is wonderful. I would also like to mention Lena from guest relations, outstanding… all the Guest Relations staff are truly remarkable. If I may, l would also like to say that Dinling, l think one of the restaurant managers is amazing, in all the years we have been at PY, she has been there and her beautiful smile and welcoming way for everyone is a joy to see. My husband and l and my daughter and her family, we are all booked to come in April for 2 very special occasions, we can’t think of anywhere else we would rather be. Take a huge bow all staff at Princess Yaiza, you are all amazing, thank you for all you do.

Greeted on arrival with a cava. Suitcases left in a store place as we’d got there about 11:30am and check-in wasn’t until at least 3pm. Had to mill about for the intervening time, asked for a wifi code so we could at least go online and were given a temporary one until we could use the one allocated to our room. Went to lunch in between as well, but this did seem such a long day as we’d been up since 2am, had this in other hotels but usually until 2pm. Had a call at around 3:15pm to say the room was ready, but when we went to reception there were loads of people who had just arrived and only 2 on reception so we had to wait for all of those people to be checked in before we were eventually given the room keys. Staff we interacted with throughout the hotel were friendly and helpful and we never had to wait long for assistance at any of the bars or for drinks service at any meal. Room was clean with a headroom area and sitting area. Both had separate air conditioning units, but both didn’t work properly, the one in the sitting area was just noise and produced no cool air, the one in the bedroom did produce cool air which you could feel directly underneath it, but even leaving the keycard in while we went out in the evening the temperature seldom dropped to below 26 degrees. There was a fridge stocked with drinks for AI guests but once these were used they were not replaced, we did feel that this could have had a replacement at least once during our holiday as people there for 1 week had exactly the same as us and we were there for 2 weeks. For the first 8 days neither the bedding or towels in the room were replaced. So I resorted to leaving the wet towels in a heap on the floor of the shower. Came back to find they’d been removed but not replaced so had to go to reception to ask for towels. They were supplied to the room with in 10 minutes, but should I have needed to do this? Water, both fizzy and still were available from a self service machine at the pool bar, so take a refillable container with you. The pool bar opened at 10:30am, but you could use the water machine before this time as the door was opened earlier. Breakfast was from 8am, lunch from 1pm and dinner from 6:30pm. We’re always early so there was no difficulty getting a table, but we did see those who came later having problems finding a table that had been reset, and in the evening they operate a digital call system so you often saw people with the digital receivers I. The bar waiting to be called to tables for their evening meal. Food was very much as expected for AI so fairly similar choices and never that hot (although the serving utensils were boiling under the heat lamps). Breakfast had omelettes, fried eggs and British bacon all cooked in front of you. The problem we continually found was there was only 1 person doing all the cooking so when the bacon was ready there were no eggs ready and vice versa - if you’re going to do it this way then there needs to be one pers

We have just returned from a 10 day family holiday at dreams. We had a room overlooking the kids slide pool and stayed on an All Inclusive basis. The hotel is stunning and is refurbished to a very high standard. The lobby and communal areas are beautiful & have a very luxurious feel. Our room was perfect for us - clean & comfortable. Rooms are cleaned daily to a good standard and the mini bar is replenished with drinks daily. The beds and linens are very comfortable - we slept really well our entire trip. Small gripe we weren’t given towels 2 days but we were able to order them on the app to be delivered to our room. The food in the hotel does vary in terms of quality. Breakfast in the world cafe is great - plenty of options to choose from and generally something for everyone. To be honest I can’t really say the same about lunch and dinner in the buffet, we only had dinner once and lunch once, and neither time were we impressed much. The coco cafe is a lovely alternative if you don’t mind a lighter lunch or some cake/coffee instead. They do a great caramel frappe and they also have some really yummy ice creams - our daughter loved it there. The A La Carte restaurants are much better , although again standards vary. Our favourite was Portofino closely followed by The Bluewater Grill. The asparagus & Iberian ham soup is gorgeous! Sabor had great starters and desserts but the mains were a little hit & miss. Himitsu was a bit of a let down for us. We stayed at Dreams in the Caribbean and Himitsu was our favourite, however my husband had a green seafood curry that was neither green nor curry. He said it was like drinking a salty soup. The chocolate dessert again wasn’t great, not a 5* offering. My main feedback or hopefully constructive criticism would be lack of consistency. I ordered the same dish two nights in a row - first night amazing - second night just ok. We also had a few occasions where we ordered the same thing but they came out looking different. Or dishes advertised as containing certain ingredients but arriving without.If things could just be a bit more consistent it would really improve the experience. One of my favourite things about the hotel is the staff. I’ve got to say that whilst there were times I could see that they need more, the ones that are there are incredibly hard working, passionate and professional. We were treated like family from the moment we arrived until the moment we left. I’d like to give a special mention to Maria & Sarah at the kids club who were great with our little girl. Victoria at the Marlin bar who helped me practice my Spanish - she’s a gem! Hugo & Denisa on the entertainment team - so much fun and laughter had with these two. And in the restaurants Aaron, Gorka & Marcos always made us feel so welcome and taken care of. And of course Daniel - every hotel should have a Daniel he is just so lovely and makes your guest experience very special. Our daughter was delighted every time she saw him. O

We booked the hotel (rather late in the day) as part of an Inntravel package - and only then read some of the negative reviews here. Our experience of the hotel brought us to an opposite conclusion. The location on the edge of the small town of Yaiza is not remote, but quiet and tranquil, and only a relatively short drive to the southernmost beaches and resorts, rugged coastal path, or in other directions, the amazing Timanfaya National Park. The room we had was next to the pool (very cold, but invigorating!), and was clean, spacious, and had a great shower and a very comfortable bed. It was cleaned daily, and the only improvement we would suggest is that it could benefit from having a couple of chairs (it had one plastic chair). Some other rooms seemed to be a little more opulent, but the one we had was more than adequate for our needs, and met out expectations Breakfast, served in the courtyard, was wholesome, with a wide and plentiful choice of fresh fruits, cereals, yogurts, ham, salami, cheese and breads etc. The breakfast staff, who worked very hard, were fantastic, charming and infinitely patient. Evening meals at the restaurant (which is not run by the hotel, as far as we understood the situation) was a relaxed, very tasty and friendly experience. The management were there to help and advise, and we didn't feel any negative vibes. We had a very relaxing time at the hotel, and wish it and its charming staff well for the future.

Sceptical from reading others reviews but honestly a really good hotel, pool was small but never had a problem getting a sunbed at different times of the days, life guard on duty at all times, cheap vending machine was a life saver when we arrived really late at night, location is close to a supermarket, beautiful views from the rooftop terrace. The terrace can provide food and drinks Wednesday to Sunday all day , the music was amazing on the terrace and if you’re into parties, make sure you go on Saturday nights because wow. Locals in the area are lovely. The hotel is located 5-10 minute walk from the music square and other places to eat and drink. We had a small room so we made our space work, only downfall was the size of the shower, just enough room to stand let alone lather some soap on your legs wouldn’t say the decor was dated but could maybe do with some tweaking from maintenance (shower handle was a bit delicate & missing a door frame in bed room) but honestly would recommend staying here, it’s clean, staff are friendly. We couldn’t comment on the breakfast as we didn’t have any here. Drinks are reasonably priced at the roof top aswell if anyone is wondering. For the price we paid we couldn’t complain, thank you to all the staff❤️

We stayed here for my husband’s birthday and once again we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Check in was smooth we opted for the safe - 10€ deposit and 2€ a day… you get a little pack with your meal times and the wifi code. The food hall isn’t massive by any means but there’s plenty of choice admittedly I’m a fussy eater and I was more than happy. The pool bar has nuggets burgers and a range of sandwiches . The pool itself is a good size with plenty beds surrounding it. We arrived at 1600 and still plenty beds to choose from. We had no issues getting beds and there was no reserving that we saw… The water is salt and was absolutely freezing I don’t care what anyone says 😊 Room was very spacious and certainly very clean. The cleaners went in everyday and freshened up with new towels and bed linen. On the 11th we had birthday cards on the table when we returned after lunch there was a lovely bottle of cava and 2 glasses. What a lovely touch 😊 The walk to the start of the main ***** is approx 15mins at a leisurely pace, you can get the bus for 2€ or take a taxi for not much more. This is the 4th time we have stayed here and will definitely be back.
