You've got to bear in mind - you get what you pay for! For the price this place was very clean (maids came 5 days a week), reception staff were an absolute delight - Andreas was a bloody hoot and always welcomed us with a smile and was happy to do anything for us. The complex itself, fabulous! Clean big pools (there is 2), a pool bar with happy hours which run from 12-1 and 6-7 which is buy one get one free on most items. They also played music once the bar opened and there was a small animation team which offered daily games such as bingo and darts for a chance to win a free cocktail. You have the option to access the breakfast buffet for approx 8 euro each if your self catering and there is food available to order from the bar for most the day which is cooked and brought up fresh from the kitchen. There is also a shop on site (right next to the pool) so for the folks who didn't want to spend their money at the pool bar,, they could drink cold cans round the pool area and the staff welcomed this. They did also cook fresh croissants and other pastries most morning which was a lovely treat. In our self catering room we had everything we needed, 2 hobs, microwave oven, kettle, toaster, pots, pans, cutlery etc,. Everything was clean and well maintained - we had aircon in the bedroom, the one thing that let it down was that the beds were so hard, very thin mattresses which was not the best to sleep on but given everything else we was happy to overlook this. Yes the suites are outdated but you need to remember its a 3* budget friendly complex which offers more than expected. Caybeach sun - to sum it up.. if you're looking for a place with a great atmosphere, clean big pools, good location and within budget then this is the place for you!

Want a great holiday in Lanzarote Then Hotel LIVVO Volcan is the place for you Just came back 4-11th Oct The hotel is lovely, staff helpful, friendly nothing to much trouble Location right on the marina perfect for bars resturants ( all budgets) and supermarkets x3 water etc Breakfast, to much choice 1/2 dozen types of bread cold and hot offers a plenty ( 4 toasters) Egg Station Evening meals ( we took the 3 night offer, like to eat out some nights) Again great, hot grill master chef at work, soups hot cold, salads omg everything, Ice creamn 4 flavours spuds (have a mixed grill Roast, Mash, Spanish Spuds & Mash :) You will not be dissappointed Hotel room spotless, aircon very easy to use ( most hotels aircon never work properly) Fridge, Kettle, Plenty 2 point sockets everywhere. After reading all the reviews I was dreading staying here, so much so we wanted to change hotels. After a couple of days we found our stay to be pleasant. All staff we encounter were friendly and polite. We arrived late Monday night, we had a Alfredo checking us in and he was lovely and very honest. He really managed our expectations. We was advised there was a basic cold buffet as we arrived late. A little bit of bread, crackers, cheese cold meat, some salad, fruit and cake. Literally managed expectations cos that’s all there was. This hotel needs a massive injection of money to get it upto scratch. It’s definitely “you can’t polish a turd, but you can throw glitter at it” kind of place. I can imagine it was a nice hotel when it first opened. Yes it does have the amenities of a 4 star such as bus shuttle to the beach, supermarket, spa, water park etc but it is your affordable basic 4 star hotel. As a whole the hotel in general is tired and dated. Hotel staff work there arses off to clean and maintain the best they can. It’s the owners that need to pull their finger out and make it nice again. You get a few rough and ready customers staying here. Language was appalling on some of the guests. Smoking by the pool - this really needs to be reinforced by staff members as it’s not permitted. There was a general disrespect for the hotel, that some of the guests had, not using bins which there was plenty dotted about, not following H&S in the pool at night. I can see why other people complain about the uncleanliness- but every morning you see workers cleaning up from the night before and guests leave it a dump- it’s a shamed. I overheard some guests complaining of burglaries and guests balcony hopping. We never had anything stolen ourselves but one night I heard someone trying our door. I did try to report this on numerous times but there was always a wait to speak to reception, due to the volume of guests at the desk. So I never got the chance. Rooms - basic, dated but clean. We didn’t see any bugs in our room or in our beds. Our room didn’t get an air con remote but it was addressed ASAP as soon as we notified reception. We had house keeping cleaning our room (667), making beds and fresh towels 6 days a week. Their day off is a Friday. Our room was situated very close to water park, in fact the slides backed off our rooms - this didn’t bother us. It was a nice and quiet spot and you could sleep. Beds are very firm, which I don’t mind, but others may struggle. We were a family of 4, but we was only given 3 blue blankets, a 4th would have been better and should have asked for one. The room came with a TV, fridge with mini freezer, microwave in our room. Along with a kettle and cups, spoons and saucer but no coffee or teabags to accompany. Maybe I was suppose to get them from restaurant. Nice walk in rain shower, with hairdryer and lots of shampoos and shower gels. Food/drink - lots of variety especially at dinner, we never went hungry

Arrived around 8:30 pm, check-in was not the best. Receptionist was not the friendliest or helpful, these are your rooms (party of 5 ,3 rooms) no real directions, no site map, site quite large and it was dark! Eventually found my room ,we had been given a family sea view double. Room was a great size ,but could do with some TLC. Bed was 2 singles pushed together ,not ideal but very comfortable. Bathroom sizeable with over bath shower ,sink ,toilet and hairdryer. Large balcony looking out see was lovely. We had just enough time to sample the all inclusive evening selection, which i have to say was not bad, good selection of meat, fish .pasta and salad and sweets/deserts. EVENING MEALS FINISH 21.15. Breakfast again offered a good selection of both hot and cold options. POOLS .2 pools and a kiddies pool in a separate area. Plenty of sunbeds around pools and also sheltered sunbathing areas with sunbeds along sea front for use of hotel guests. POOL BAR. Open10.30 -23.00 , snacks (burgers, chips and ham and cheese toasties) available 12.30 is until 17.00. his where evening entertainment is held.TO BE AWARE this building and the pools are set away from the main hotel, so if you are not so mobile it is not ideal. Only 2 drinks person served at any one visit to the bar. There is another bar that is very close to the restaurant but is not manned , there are self service wine dispenser and beer pump, cannot think why this area is not put to better use. Overall the food was good at all mealtimes, the drinks were plentiful and free. The staff in the main were pleasant and tried their best(some spoke very little English). The hotel itself is a little out of it, being probably the last Hotel in Playa Blanca, very close to the Lighthouse. Not a problem if you want a quiet time. Playa Blanca harbour and town is a pleasant 1 hour stroll, Rubicon is about another half an hour walk further on. Taxi's are a problem, being so far out , we waited over 3/4 hour after booking one along with with other families with taxi's taking over an hour especially on market days, i suspect larger hotels and airport runs take most taxi's .Checkout was no hassle 11.00am and there is a locked luggage room. Overall we had a good holiday ,would i go back to this hotel ,possibly. Just a note to bear in mind the brits are a minority at this hotel, mainly French ,German and Dutch ,again this did not bother me in fact it was quite nice to hear different languages. Lots of slopes ,steps around he hotel, there is a small shop on site selling water ,souvenirs ,tobacco products.
