Ponta Delgada Hotels with Airport pickup service

Whilst the hotel was very modern it seemed to lack basics such as a kettle in the room (there is a nespresso machine but for any tea drinkers out there they will know that making tea through a coffee machine is far from ideal) and being able to retrieve an iron. Instead you are expected to put items in for laundry when all we wanted to do was run an iron over a shirt for the evening. Pool area is stunning however has the most uncomfortable loungers you could ever find. They look great but the max stay to bathe is less than an hour before your entire body goes numb. It seems that this stunning hotel is trying to be a little above its star rating and failing on these few points at just trying that bit too hard for the clientele staying. Rooms were very clean although signs of some wear and tear are already starting to show. Location is EXCELLENT and staff helpful, polite and welcoming. Not sure if we would stay again as we are real sun worshipers and really struggled to enjoy the pool area here.

This hotel needs to do better with the service quality (or lack of) that they provide. At the front desk, as an example, the receptionist got annoyed because we asked for a receipt when we checked out. The welcoming wasn't friendly either, including not wanting to recommend a place to have dinner. The rooms don't have lotion. To iron your clothes, you must go to a house keeping room, because they don't allow irons in the room. The breakfast stuff rarely cleans the plate out of your table, even tho it's a buffet. The hotel is clean, and it has great location.

We selected the Canadiano on the advice of a friend. I'm pleased to report that it was a very pleasant, comfortable hotel for our 6 night stay in Ponta Delgada. The beds were very comfortable. The rooms were well kept. They offer complimentary breakfast for their guests. If you want to spend your days exploring, not trying to find somewhere to have breakfast, this is welcomed feature. We rented a car to explore the island and they have ample free parking. It doesn't have a great view of anything and it doesn't have a swimming pool. So if you're not planning to leave your hotel, this probably isn't the best choice. But, I can't image anyone going to Sao Miguel just to stay in the hotel - there is so much to see. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone planning to visit this beautiful island.

I will start with the good. I wanted to give this hotel at least a four star rating as the check-in process was excellent and the desk clerk was very friendly. However, we rented two rooms and one of the rooms had a broken air conditioner. When I requested that someone look at it the next morning, I was initially told it was working fine. I was unable to get the clerk to understand that the fan is not the same as the air conditioner. Later that afternoon when it still was not fixed I was told it was too late to switch rooms as housekeeping had left for the day. The saving grace was the night clerk finding us a fan which at least made the room bearable. I know many hotels do not have air-conditioning, but this was selected specifically because it did. Otherwise, the hotel is acceptable and as I indicated, in an excellent area/location.

I have to share our stay at @hostelpassal, where Paulo & Anabela welcomed us like nephews from the continent. Even before arriving, we were finding everything so easy with the help of Paulo, who in addition to picking us up at the airport, also helped us rent a car, book activities and define a super complete itinerary with a map that he He made it himself (the best map of the island of S. Miguel, without a doubt!) The accommodation was always excellent, with a mega “Good Morning” and an excellent breakfast. We had the opportunity to get to know the other accommodations in the Passal group and I can only say that they are the best on the entire island 😍 The experience at Hostel Passal was so positive that to anyone visiting Ponta Delgada, regardless of nationality, I will always recommend this place for your stay.
