We have just returned (27 Sept - 4 Oct 2023) from the New Market Holidays 8 day Lake Como and Bernina Express tour and are absolutely thrilled with the experience we have just had. Our Tour director Florea Aleandru Gabriel (Alex) met us at the airport and transfered us to our hotel - The Hotel Lario. Alex promised to entertain us and impart his knowledge with us - he did not disappoint, the local and national knowledge he was able to share with us was incredible, and nothing was ever too much trouble for him. He is a real credit to New Market Holiday and himself. The Hotel Lario is a family run hotel that was clean and simple, exactly what was needed for our base. The bed was comfortable, the shower was hot and our room, facing the mountains was quiet and cool despite the unexpected heat. The staff are friendly and always happy to help The food was incredible, it was traditional Italian Holiday food (pasta, meat, potatoes etc) and was always very tasty. We had a choice of 2 starters, 2 mains and a dessert each day for dinner as part of our package. The breakfast was a good continental selection of pastries, fresh fruit, eggs etc. The outside seating are was lovely in the early morning and evening to watch the sun and moon rise over the mountains. The roads from the hotel to the towns are narrow but once we found our confidence walking them was not a problem at all. We used the public boat and bus service on our free days and this was simple and convenient. Taking the slow boat down the Lake to Como is just beautiful and give a different perspective to this stunning area.

Of all the hotels we stayed at on our tour of Lake Como BELVEDERE WAS THE BEST - the Receptionist was so welcoming and after booking us in gave us a tour. Nothing was too much for this lovely lady. We were in Room 18 which was spacious and comfortable. The views were magnificent - the best views of any hotel we've ever stayed. Breakfast was fabulous - a brilliant selection. Now the only downside, there were no tea making facilities in our room but everything else made this a very minor issue. Highly recommend this lovely hotel with stunning views & such helpful staff.

The location is excellent, the first row by the lake, the surrounding restaurants are full of wine, the fly in the ointment is that there is no refrigerator in the room. It is suitable for self-driving, but the blue paid parking space is not easy to find during the peak hours of the holiday. Not to mention the white free one. When you are 400 meters away from the hotel, you will pay attention and there will be a parking space. The hotel does not have a valet parking service. Please inform the license plate number when you check in, otherwise it will fall into the forbidden zone and the ticket will be severe.

my wife and I visited the hotel during winter. It was not crowded and we were the only ones who had dinner at the hotel restaurant that night. The food is good.
what i want to stress the most is that the view from my lakeview room is stunning. i believe it has the best view out of all the hotels in Bellagio given its location and altitude. With the room, view and service we got, it is safe to say it has the greatest value for money out all my 9-day stay in Italy.

Excellent in all! Absolutely wonderful location (only accessible with taxi) whether day or night! A wonderful DeLuxe room with sea view! The size, the materials of highest quality and finest design. Eat excellent in the Bistro, since full booked in the restaurant! Unfortunately only one night a.Gr. of much work also in Lugano (visit a super performance in the art and culture center). The fitness/sauna was unfortunately closed, but private spa was bookable before departure Sunday morning ... good alternative. The gardens around the sky! The team was super professional, extremely friendly and helpful. Good and dream of my next visit to Villa Leopold ...Heartly recommended for enjoying the fine and good ... Denise Worlds in Zurich

I stayed for one night at the end of July in summer for 1152 Hong Kong dollars. The room was very clean. It is located on the edge of Lake Como. It is a family business B&B with few rooms. There is a restaurant in front of the owner's house that tastes good. The attitude is average, no enthusiasm and no poor care. He didn't give me a big bath towel when he gave us the room. It was already very inconvenient for me to use a small towel to wipe after taking a shower. After I checked out, he chased me and said that I took two big towels. Although it was a misunderstanding, I think the EQ of running a small shop is really low. Next time, don't be greedy for cheapness. There are still many choices for B&Bs under 2000 Hong Kong dollars.

GGuest UserWe have just returned home from a week at this hotel feeling very relaxed. The staff in all areas from reception to restaurant staff were so friendly and helpful. Our room was clean and spacious and had a lovely view of lake Lugano. We did not pay to use the adult only spa but used the family spa and sauna. We found the best time to go was after 6pm as it was quieter. The spa had sauna, steam room and relax area where children under 16 were not allowed. There are 2 outdoor pools which we did not try as they are not heated and also private beach area. We were on half board, the breakfast had so much choice. The evening menu changed each evening, we had to pay for our drinks. There is parking on site but it is chargeable. The staff are knowledgeable on places to visit.

Cclare cOur second trip to this outstanding resort and once again it exceeded our expectations. The staff went out of their way to make this such a memorable trip. We had a few problems with car hire which the staff went above and beyond to help us sort. Alessandro the hotel manager took a personal interest in helping us which was a much appreciated personal touch. Breakfast is a highlight on a beautiful veranda overlooking Lake Lugano with no request being too much for the delightful and accommodating staff. On both occasions accommodation has been fantastic with both rooms having a beautiful view of the lake. Beds are wonderfully comfy and pillows are wonderful. Really pleasant bar manager Marco would go to great lengths to serve us. Again a wonderful personal touch. Walking into Cimi and Porlezza is both a really lovely experience with an abundance of Olive trees and fig trees surrounding the complex. We had a couple of overcast days where we used the spa facilities. Again a superb experience. I would highly recommend this environment conscious, customer conscious resort.
