Our room was not cleaned before we checked in. There was bread crumbs all over the carpet and tv console. The trash bins were filled with trash and food. The bathroom was not cleaned. There were someone else’s earrings by the sink. There was a dirty diaper in the trash bin. The bed had indentations like someone was previously sitting on the bed. There were dead bugs, looked like mosquitoes, by the pillows. I called reception to let them know our room was previously used and not cleaned after, and I wanted a different room. He said all the rooms were checked out for the night. Then I asked if house keeping come and at least tidy up the room and provide us with at least hand soap, new towels and new bed sheets. He said that housekeeping was already gone for the day. It was late, I was exhausted. I tried to book another hotel room around the area but there was no vacancy. He, reception, showed up to our door and took pictures of all the issues with the room, and so did I. He was very apologetic but I was very frustrated because my husband and I all we wanted is to to sleep and not worry about a dirty room that had no fresh towels or hand soap, etc. I wasn’t expecting luxury. I know where I booked the room, but at the very least, I expected a tidy up room with the bare essentials. I paid full price and I want a refund. The “owner” as the the staff said, was out on vacation and wasn’t going to be back until Tuesday. That he would call me back. I haven’t received any calls yet.
