Evermore Guesthouse

We stayed a week and half at the Evermore Guesthouse while we visited our brand new granddaughter. We booked the Tilikum Suite, so we'd have our own entrance and small kitchen. When I contacted the Guesthouse to say we wanted to limit our contact with other people so we didn't bring viruses when we visited they baby, the Evermore staff were very generous is accommodating our needs. They stocked our kitchen with a coffeepot, coffee, and filters and other basic breakfast supplies, like cereal, orange juice and milk. That way, we could slip into the communal kitchen each evening to take other items out of the refrigerators and fruit for our breakfast the next day, as needed. When they cleaned our unit halfway through our stay, they even wore masks! I was so happy with how accommodating they were! We loved the studio, too. Comfy bed and sofa, good lighting & AC/heat, great shower and bathroom, robes for our use, and the kitchen was also stocked with oil, vinegar and salt & pepper if anyone planned to do some of their own food prep there (microwave, small fridge, oven/stove). Wifi was reliable, and the communal living/dining room is lovely. Though we didn't take advantage of them on this visit, we've done so on other visits. The Evermore is our go-to place to stay when we visit our daughter & her husband (& now granddaughter) in Portland, because they don't have a guest room. It's in a beautiful walkable neighborhood.

Excellent accommodations - very clean, comfortable, well appointed, friendly, helpful staff willing to make adjustments. The self serve breakfast options are healthier and more varied than standard airport motel continental breakfasts. Coffee is far and away better. All available any time. Our second stay at one of the two Division Inns. First was the Bluebird, also a very pleasant stay, on a main street but very near restaurants, etc. Evermore is off main street and has off-street parking and short walk to restaurants, etc. Definitely our go to place to stay when visiting family in Southeast Portland. Really like the classic building renovated with updated amenities.

Beautiful room, but!! The smell of swiffer and freeze is overpowering. The on call answered immediately and suggested I open all the doors to the balconies, turn on the room fan to high, and get the floor fan from the basement. I wiped down the bathroom and that helped there. I did all the above so hopefully it will dissipate before bedtime. If you book here and are at all sensitive to smell, I didn’t think I was, wrong there! make sure you alert them before arrival so they can clean your room differently.

Awesome place. Had a feel like home. There was something about it that made us feel calm after all our travels. Everything was organized, and we had no issues checking in and out. We were there for just one night. If we had to go back to Portland, this would be our number one choice.

There aren't many places to stay in Southeast Portland, so we were happy to find this inn. It turned out to be wonderful. We spent three nights in the St. Johns Suite, which is enormous. In addition to the very comfortable bed, it includes a sitting area (with couch and comfy chair), a desk, a fridge, a huge bathroom with clawfoot tub and double shower, and two balconies. Also a host of fun architectural details. The room was a fantastic place to stay, with good AC and not much noise despite the proximity to busy Cesar Chavez Blvd. The house itself is gorgeous, although it looks as if the exterior needs some maintenance. We enjoyed the continental breakfasts and the presence of snacks (fruit, granola bars, etc.). Check-in was seamless, parking is free, and there are plenty of places to eat within easy walking distance. We'll definitely stay here again in future visits.

Can heartily recommend Evermore, a beautifully restored 1909 home with all the amenities you would need. Spacious room with very nice bathroom. Comfy community breakfast area (available all day) with plenty of snacks, coffee, etc. Very convenient to many restaurants. You will love it.

The Evermore is located a block from all of the wonderful restaurants and shops on Division. There's free off-street parking. The building itself is gorgeous, built in the early 1900s with absolutely stunning details like the stained glass windows. Our room was large and comfortable with lots of original details. Even though it faced a main street, there was very little noise. We also appreciated the snacks available throughout the day (granola bars, nut packs, fresh fruit) and the wonderful continental breakfast spread in the morning. I got a text when my room was ready (several hours prior to check in) with the door code and other instructions. We did not see any of the staff at any point, which we didn't mind at all, though some people might want more contact. Overall, this is a wonderful alternative to an Airbnb or a hotel. I would definitely return.

Can’t say enough good things about our stay here. The top king suite has a fantastic bathroom as well as a comfy bed. The house was clean and tastefully decorated. The hosts were polite without being too overbearing. The check in process was easy. We’re already looking forward to our next visit. Absolutely stay here.

For us this was slightly disappointing in that there was no contact with our hosts or any interaction with guests/staff. Our room was pleasant, bed comfortable, bathroom was fine but shower pressure was low and hot water was a bit "tricky", no television, breakfast in the morning was help yourself to items available in the kitchen (signs up as to what you could have plus instructions) and expectation was wash up your own dishes, dry and put away which was fine - just hoped the other guests washed up their dishes properly! The guesthouse was very quiet. Car parking out the back of the property, guest laundry was down in the basement and looked too complicated for us so we found an awesome laundromat nearby. Suburb itself was quite nice, restaurants walkable distance. Excellent supermarket nearby with everything you wanted.
