We have stayed here a few times. This time a pre Xmas visit to meet with family. Overall another good stay. Our room this time had an excellent view and was larger than average. Very clean and quiet. Excellent location, car park a few minutes away. The attached restaurant was not as good as previous visits. Steak not cooked correctly. Also restaurant extremely noisy, it was a good atmosphere but difficult to hold a conversation as music too loud ! Breakfast has always been good at a premier inn , but obviously cut backs has hit Premier inn . The pastries are now very poor quality, croissants, now very cheap supermarket quality, pain au chocolates cut in half portions. My husband stayed in another premier inn this week, also noted huge deterioration in quality ingredients for breakfast. So this seems to be the norm now . Shame.

We were visiting the Mary Rose at the Portsmouth Historic Dockyard as a pre Christmas treat and so this hotel was ideal for the trip. We booked a Premier Plus room which was a good idea because it meant we had the quality, comfort and cleanliness of a Premier Inn (with their fabulously comfortable bed !) but with some extra space and amenities, together with a great view to embellish the experience. The room was therefore ideal for our stay. The downside of the Portsmouth Dockyard Premier inn unfortunately is the attached restaurant (Bar & Block Steakhouse). It was dreadful and very disappointing, to the extent that we did not use it for breakfast and only one of our evening meals. It is the only restaurant branded as a "Steakhouse" that we have been to where the kitchen staff seem totally incapable of cooking streak properly. It took two unsuccessful attempts for a rump steak to be cooked rare ; the first was delivered dried and well done and the replacement dry medium-well (and with no apology from the disinterested staff) The alleged "Beef dripping Triple cooked chunky chips" were simply the equivalent of Albert Bartlett Frozen Oven Chips as they were neither chunky or tasted like potato triple cooked in beef dripping. Frankly an uninviting, noisy, uncomfortable environment producing over-priced low quality food by apparently poorly trained staff. We are sure Whitbread could do better as they need to "up their game" for Premier Inn customers. ( I have not included a photo of the charred, dried-out, succulent steak or misbranded chips but a photo can be provided if requested)

clean, quiet and well appointed room with great breakfast. friendly staff and close to centre town and attractions. highly rwcommended. I regularly use this hotel chain and have not been disappointed. ..............................

Very nice Premier Inn, plus beds were great, bathroom was lovely. We used the meal deal and the food was one of the best we have had at any Premier Inn in the UK. Lovely staff, very helpful. In a safe location with an nice walk into the town centre.

The hotel is ideally situated for transport links. It has a good quality restaurant and the staff are friendly and helpful. Rooms are good quality, clean and tidy. Ideal base for people exploring the local area and getting the local tourist sites

Hotel ottimamente posizionato di fronte l'Historical Dockyards e la Base Navale della Marina Inglese, e a due passi dalla stazione di Portsmouth Harbor e da The Hard dove fermano praticamente tutte le autolinee della città e dintorni, e a tre passi dal centro commerciale Gunwharf Quays. Stanza abbastanza spaziosa, con TV e wifi. Peccato che dal rubinetto del lavandino del bagno non esca acqua calda. Colazione: è il primo hotel in assoluto dove non trovo il buffet freddo (formaggi, prosciutto, pomodori e altro) a colazione ma solo i classici piatti cucinati della colazione inglese. Peccato!
