Mangia's Santa Teresa Sardinia, Curio Collection by Hilton

My partner and I booked this “5 star all-inclusive resort” for our five year anniversary. Unfortunately, this has returned out to be one of the worst overall stays that we have ever experienced. I am not one to complain and I don’t really ever leave reviews. I understand that things go wrong and mistakes happen. However, when these things are consistently occurring (despite complaints), and start to negatively affect your holiday - I don’t believe this is acceptable. After feeling so disappointed, I felt that I had to share my lived experiences. Please see my summary’s below: Hotel: - Very small. - Not up to standard. - Definitely not a five star hotel. This needs to be reviewed as it is very misleading. - This is simply not a resort. It has the feel of a boutique hotel. - Lack of entertainment. During our stay, they had one singer who sometimes sang at lunchtime. We did not have any evening entertainment. - No shows/games/activities included. Only paid excursions. - All-inclusive is limited. Location: - Very picturesque. - The hotel seems to capture all of the wind due to being fully exposed to the Mediterranean Sea. This can make for an uncomfortable sun bathing experience on the cooler days. This often cut our evening time short due to chilling winds and lack of inside areas to migrate to. - You need a hire car if you wish to see the area. All inclusive: - Water not included. €5 per bottle! - No snacks options throughout the day. - Very poor dining experience. - Lack of service and non-attentive staff. - Breakfast and dinner is the same everyday. We ate beef and pasta for dinner every night! Extremely repetitive. - They often run out of several food items, condiments, drinks etc. within half an hour of opening. “Sorry, we’ve ran out of butter”. “Sorry, we’ve ran out of Orange Juice”. “Sorry, we’ve ran out of pastries”. There seems to be a major issue with whoever is managing the ordering of stock and supplies for this hotel. - Being serve undercooked pasta and stale bread is not the Italian cuisine we were expecting. Extremely disappointing. - €40 per person, per meal for the buffet if you’re not in the all inclusive package. Sadly, it is not worth €10. - Al a carte restaurant was shut for the entire week of our stay. We had a free meal at this restaurant included in our booking, which we were unable to redeem. - Poor quality food, which is served cold. - Two options for lunch: burger or toastie. Again, very repetitive and poor quality. This is priced at €17 for non-inclusive guests. - Staff seem confused about the all-inclusive elements. - We often got asked to pay for bills from other tables by mistake. Beverages: - The all-inclusive drinks list is small. - This was made even smaller due to stock and supply issues. No syrups, no juices, etc. - We were expecting deliveries over our stay. However, this was not the case. The drinks list proceeded to get smaller, despite there being a large supermarket which is a six minutes drive dow
Felix Hotels - Hotel la Coluccia

We stayed in La Coluccia for one week this summer. Let's start on a positive note and mention hotel's good points. Firstly, beautiful location, if you look for a quiet area this quiet bay is perfect. Bare in mind that the beach is public. The housekeeping service was very efficient and some of the reception staff were very helpful and presented a good command of English. There was also a very friendly girl at the pool service. Unfortunately, there are many negatives. Starting with the cleanliness... the pool area is simply dirty, the jacuzzi was cleaned after our complaint. You would expect 5 star hotel to have their cleanliness on spot. The walls of the pool were dirty, the pool floor needs an urgent maintance, we witnessed one of the guests hurting her foot badly on a broken board. When we brought a dirty jacuzzi to the reception employee's attention...we heard that it was due to people using it. Well it is due to the staff to clean it as often as needed. The pool boy/lifeguard spent most of the days on his mobile, not interested in his job whatsoever. Here I need to mention never seen before unprofessional behaviour of the hotel management. During one of the afternoons we witnessed the hotel management staff telling the pool boy off in front of all guests. Besides the point that the guy deserved some criticism, it should have been done behind the scenes. The room advertised as a see view deluxe room is a very standard size room with a sea view covered by bushes. The food was a big disappointment, we ate mostly in the nearest town. It is a pity to see a hotel with a great potential, not to receive a deserved attention. Unfortunately, from previous reviews hotel's replies, it seems like looking for excuses is tge way tge reviews are approached. I reckon it would be good for the hotel management to be open to a constructive criticism. The management should look upon themselves and make some urgent changes. Attention to detail must be applied if the hotel wants to claim its 5 stars...
Villa Las Tronas Hotel & Spa

Our stay at this exclusive, beautifully appointed historic hotel was wonderful. The location is amazing - just a short 10 minute walk along the waterfront to the old town of Alghero with stunning views across the mediterranean. We had a sea view room with a large balcony and although not huge, the room was elegantly decorated with beautiful pieces of furniture. The pool area is calm and peaceful with stunning views overlooking the sea. There is also private access down some steps to the sea if you fancy a dip. The hotel is very private with access from the road via secure gates only. It is within it's own grounds surrounded by beautiful private gardens where there are lots of areas to sit peacefully. Staff were very accomodating and extremely friendly. Service was excellent with high staff to guest ratio. Nothing too much trouble. On departure day a taxi was ordered for us and as we were leaving slightly before the official start time of breakfast, staff kindly arranged for us to have breakfast a little earlier which was very much appreciated. Silver service breakfast was wonderful and lots of choice. Overall a truly memorable stay and we will certainly be returning.
CPH | Pevero Hotel

Almost didn't book this hotel as it had some less positive reviews, but booked in the end because it is an SLH and I trust that brand from experience. Well, having been lucky enough to have stayed at a large number of 5 star hotels this definitely has our seal of approval! We would happily come again. Stayed at more expensive hotels in Sardinia and much preferred this one. What we liked - pool setup is great with the pools across different levels and really fab smaller pools for children - meant we (and other families ) could let our daughter splash around without disturbing anyone else. Cabanas and beds set up around the pool all very spread out so it never felt crowded at all Beautiful view from the room. Great location to drive to all other parts of the Costa Smerelda. Also a great location for any hiking or trail running on the Pevero health trail. Lovely evening restaurant with fantastic food and wonderful staff. Great selection at pool bar menu for lunch. Lovely breakfast (please note if reading less recent reviews they no longer charge for omelettes etc at breakfast). Gym was better than the previous hotel we had stayed at which was a 5 star ”resort”. In general the level of service amongst the staff was super. What we didn't like - this actually really didn't bother us but the hotel's beach area isn't great or great value. It's EUR120 for a pair of sunbeds on Piccolo Pevero (less than 5min walk or they offer a shuttle) ... And anyway Grand Pevero (2min further walk from hotel) is nicer with sunbeds a third of that price. And there are other beaches on the peninsula which are also great. So, if you're happy to go to Grande Pevero instead or want to drive around the coast a bit during your stay... Don't be put off by that. Two slight negatives - they didn't provide much water in the rooms (at a 5star hotel I expect more than one small carton of water per person per day) and the room was slightly on the small side bearing in mind we had to fit a cot in it.. but a small price to pay for the view.
Club Hotel Cormorano

Really lovely stay at Club Hotel Cormorano. The hotel is kept immaculately clean, better than “5” star resorts we’ve stayed at in the Caribbean. Fantastic spread at breakfast, there really is something for everyone to choose from depending upon preference. My husband and I don’t have any allergies or intolerances so can’t comment as to whether all dietary requirements are catered for. The staff work so hard there to make it an enjoyable experience for guests. Very friendly and helpful. I didn’t see the hotel as dated personally and I can be really fussy! I felt it had charm and character and had a certain authenticity about it. Baja Sardinia is a beautiful place, a lovely square of restaurants and lovely beach a stone throw away. There isn’t a huge amount to do so excursions such as the boat trip and a short bus ride to experience Porto Cervo are a must. If you are visiting for longer than a week and want a place to explore it’s probably a good idea to hire a car or break up your stay in different locations.
