We stayed in this rather quirky guest house for two nights, looked after by the friendly host Francesca. It really feels as if you have been invited into someone's home, as long as you don't mind two well-behaved and friendly dogs sharing the facilities. The rooms are rather dated, but large and more than adequate. We were told that some rooms have self catering facilities; if not, there is a communal kitchen for guests to use. Breakfasts were great; hot food cooked to order and a wide selection of cold items, including many homemade treats. The house has a beautiful garden, with views up to the old city of Orvieto above, and a fine swimming pool. There is secluded path from the rear of the house up to one of the city gates. However, it is very steep and hard going even for relatively experienced walkers, so we agreed with other guests that using it once day was more than enough. The other options are driving or using taxis. Highly recommended.

This was our first time to Italy and first time to A vineyard, but we will definitely do both again. We chose the top level executive spa room, and while the facilities (sauna, steam) are a treat, the jacuzzi bath is a bit mediocre, and the room decor is nice, but more rustic and not at a level of a top 5 star boutique hotel. This is the only negative comment I can make and it is by no means a criticism. The whole place is a treat. Food outstanding at every meal, wine (including a small selection of their own very good organic wines), and the ambience are all 1st class. Orvieto and especially the cathedral are well worth a visit. Highly recommend this place.

Liked · We were 4 travellers and requested to stay in 1 room. - The room provided was very large and spacious. - The location was also excellent, close to all main amenities, with supermarket and restaurants very, and yet secluded and very quiet. Also very close to some seeing spots, with Centro Storico Narni (a beautiful medieval town) only 10 minutes away by car. - We were travelling by car and a large parking area is available. - Beds large and comfy, mattresses very comfortable - Staff very friendly, and a kind receptionist gave us a discount voucher to visit Cascate delle Marmore, which is unmissable. - Good breakfast, croissants and cakes were delicious - Overall a very pleasant stay and the hotel exceeded our expectations Disliked · Only very small complaints which didn't diminish our stay, but perhaps can suggest minor improvements. - The room was well heated, which was fine for me as the weather was cold. I understand it was central heating. However, it would be ideal if the room temperature can be adjusted. One of our group found the heat excessive - Bathroom of medium size and comfortable. Only issue was shower area which was very small. - My companions loved breakfast as they have a sweet tooth =) However, I prefer savoury items, and mostly only sweet items were available.. I suggest that maybe more savoury items are available.

Ritorniamo dopo qualche anno (2018) ed è piacevole ritrovare la stessa atmosfera e cortesia da parte dello staff; inoltre la camera è stata rinnovata, è moderna e pulita in maniera impeccabile, con anche il frigobar. Siamo in centro Orvieto, nella Ztl ma ci si può arrivare con l'auto per poi parcheggiarla in posti riservati all'hotel nel parcheggio coperto a poche centinaia di metri, con un piccolo supplemento (10€). Colazione fantastica, allestita nella saletta a piano terra, con prodotti freschi e le bevande calde sono servite al tavolo. Prezzo pagato adeguato a quanto offre la struttura. Ritorneremo. L'arrivo ci ha messi un poco ansiosi sulla scelta. Prima un tragitto tortuoso nella valle tra campagne di Orvieto, e più si andava avanti più sembravamo persi. Finalmente arrivati , da conferma del navigatore e da un cartello, essendo anche in anticipo e il posto chiuso, siamo andati in giro sulla strada che portava ad una diga su fiume/lago. Ma con il dubbio della struttura che non collimava con le informazioni della prenotazione. Dubbio risolto quando al ceck abbiamo scoperto che ci sono più camere ”diffuse” nel territorio intorno e indirizzati, con altro tragitto, a Caio, un ristorante con camere al piano superiore. In cima ad una collina dopo una strada abbastanza impervia di buche, con una vista impagabile sulle valli attorno, la struttura è anche dotata di piscina (aimè impegnata a festa compleanno di bambini), da un bellissimo giardino (aimè occupato da una festa di battesimo ). Camera molto ampia ma ancor più il bagno. Un buon letto, ma consiglio di trovare una soluzione alla tv appoggiata (si appoggiata non bloccata) a comò, non visibile dal letto, a meno di fare una ”operazione” che non descrivo. Silenzio appagante nella notte, un risveglio al mattino per la colazione su un terrazzo coperto con vista impagabile. Colazione mega e soprattutto la gentilezza e la cortesia del personale riscontrata. Posto Ottimo!!
