An amazing hotel, fantastic pool and outdoor facilities. Rooms were spotless and air con was amazing. Everything in the room that you could possibly need, food and drinks amazing. Staff very attentive and friendly. Supermarket on doorstep. About a 4 minute walk from the ***** but surprisingly a very quiet hotel so sleeping at night was easy.

The apartments are beautiful, great pool scenery from the balcony. Easy reach of the ***** although coming back to apartments is a trek as very steep hill. The downside: our apartment stank of rotting veg/drains don't know what it was, even worse with aircon on. Complained to reception did get better but 3 days before coning home was worse than ever didn't want to change rooms too much messing about. The last day big blue bottles started appearing not good!!!! There are a lot of steps to get to our apartment 2103 and then too pool the stairlift doesn't appear to be in use so anyone disabled wouldn't be able to use. The breakfast wasn't great either. I wouldn't come back unfortunately

The Hotel was a very relaxing experience compared to other hotels we have stayed in over several visits to Lanzarote. Rooms were very spacious with all facilities required in an apartment type hotel. Friendly, helpful staff in all areas and extremely clean and well maintained. Great location nearer to the old town than places we’ve stayed previously in PDC. Very quiet considering it’s close proximity to the *****. Would love to stay again.

Another lovely stay at the R2 Bahia Kontiki. We’ve stayed here before and had another lovely trip. Clean and modern apartments, lovely shower and we had a lovely balcony with a pool and sea view. My only issue would be the air conditioning, it’s just not good enough in the bedroom and meant I struggled to sleep. We were provided a fan but this still didn’t help hugely, it’s not the temperature of the air conditioning, I think the flow into the rooms just isn’t great and when it’s warm outside this is a must but wouldn’t put me off staying again. The pool area is brilliant, we never had an issue getting a bed and in fact there were empty sunbeds even at 10:30. The restaurant does lovely food for lunch. Most of the staff were lovely and would say hi. Great location with lots of lovely food and drink options not too far away. Would be lovely if the hotel bar stayed open a little later as this would be a lovely area for a drink if you didn’t fancy going out. All in all a great stay, we will definitely be back.

We have just returned from 10 nights at R2 Bahai Kontiki. We’re a family of 4 with 2 kids (9yrs + 11yrs) and we really enjoyed our stay here. Our apartment (3105) was located on the bottom tier which was great. We only had to climb the 53 steps or cardiac hill if we were going to the pool or Biosfera shopping centre. Otherwise, it’s turn right for Mercadona supermarket, chica beach & old town or left for new ***** & beach. The location can’t be beat. There appears to a lot more double rooms than family rooms so the hotel the majority of occupants are couples. Given this, there are no kids clubs but that suites our children’s ages. The deco is modern and reflects the photos we found online. The kitchen has a fridge, washing machine, microwave oven, hob (no dishwasher). You even get a dishcloth, tea towel, washing up liquid, ice cube tray and bin liners as nice little touches. Room service is every 2 days feels about right; fresh towels and floors swept each time. A really nice touch was being greeted by staff singing at our apartment on the morning of our daughter’s birthday. A card, chocolate cake & non-alcoholic wine was in hand. I can only assume they noticed her DOB on her passport when we checked in. Very impressed!! Whilst overall, our stay was good, there are still room for improvements….. Wifi - €2.50/day for 2 devices! Who charges for WIFI nowadays?? Whether you’re at the airport or McDonald’s, this is always free. Furthermore, I can get 25mb download speed when I step outside of my apartment or by the pool but when I step inside my room or the restaurant, it drops to less than 1mb. Coincidence or signal blockers to encourage paying for WIFI…. you decide. Air conditioning - we set the air con to 10C but the reality is that the lowest it can reach is 24C. This is great when it’s 35C outside because you feel the difference walking in. However, 24C is too hot and uncomfortable when trying to sleep at night. The reception staff were attentive and sent an engineer immediately. A device into the A/C unit and they explained it was reading 13C at source so they happy. However, there wasn’t any flow. When I placed my hand against the vents, I felt nothing. An asthmatic flea would more effect. A portable air con unit was promised but not delivered. We asked where this was every day for 3 consecutive days but we gave up in the end. Shower - cold water pressure is good but hot is very poor. You have a decision to make, a cold shower with reasonable pressure or a warm shower with one of the worst shower pressures I’ve ever seen. To put this into context, if I pointed the shower head to the ceiling, the water pressure wasn’t enough the reach 3-4” inches high. Beds - the mattresses are ‘firm’ and pillows ‘wafer thin’. After the first night, we requested 4 extra pillows which we used to double up to a standard pillow height. We slept much better after this. You can feel every movement with the firm mattress. Staff were incredibly rude! Seemed to be a lot of sunbed wars which we stayed out of! Thankfully beach is 2 min walk! No where near enough sunbeds for amount of rooms. Staff basically told us sunbeds by pool are for people in the rooms by the pool. God knows where people from other rooms are meant to go then??! Like I say we spent most the time at the beach, shame as do like a day by the pool. Will say very clean and tidy. Just the rudeness put us off. Not a family friendly hotel , appreciate it is more catered for couples. Wouldn't book again!

Stayed here for 12 nights, partial sea view and I emailed beforehand to ask if I could possibly have a pool view even tho I knew it’s not always possible. We were given a pool and sea view in room 1229. The room was spotless with everything you need for self catering although we never cooked. The air conditioning wasn’t very good however, the rooms never went below 24 degrees despite the air concerning being set to 10 and on constantly almost, BUT the nights did cool down a bit so it was manageable. The shower was a bit sporadic going hot then cold but not excessive. Beds were comfy. Beds round the pool did get reserved but not for hours with no one on them, everyone was on a bed from early. We preferred the terrace with sea views and a bar also opened at around dinner time with music. The courtyard area was a huge hot sun trap and never saw anyone in it. All staff were really polite and friendly at all times, they are all so well organised, smart uniforms etc. I’ve never seen such a dedicated Gardner. We didn’t have breakfast as it was an extra £300 to add this on, or €15 euros per person per day. The safe was €48 for the duration. I would return here it’s a lovely place to stay and the hill is not that bad!
