Hotel Atithi the Heritage

We family of 3 adults have checked in @ Athiti Heritage Puri on 23.05.2022. Booked the suit room having 2 double AC bed rooms with 2 TVs and one freeze. These are on Top floor with terrace. Cannot see the beach from Suit Room. Only sea line. From Terrace you can view Swargduar beach which too much crowded with hawkers and fish smells. Suit room rent was Rs.4200 plus GST per day. Double bedrooms are not spacious for adjusting 3 adults. No rooms have sea facing balcony. Only common balcony. Restaurant Byanjan was good for only Bengali type recipe. Faced AC leakage problem in one room in 3rd day. Water dropping directly on beds. Could repair only on 4th day @ 11 pm when the AC started smelling like burned wires. During check out they told that ashtray is missing. I am a non smoker and even we couldn’t see any such ashtray in both attached suit room from the first day. The reception was so immatured that they made us open our baggages. When could not found apologized. ONLY FOR AN ASHTRAY. Doubting guest who has spent Rs.18000 for 4 nights. Just horrible. Never faced such embarrassment. Management should try to improve upon behaviour with guest and train down the line staff accordingly. Thank god they have not told that leakages of AC has happened due to our misusage and need the repairing cost. Nightmare. Not recommendable from my end. With such pathetic service rooms and no sea view rooms and crowd charges only worth Rs. 2000 per day. People should accordingly decide.
Jamindars Palace

We had opted for suite 407 as it was sea facing and just right for our group of three adults and a kid but there was a stink of sewage in the entire suite. As the smell was not coming from the bathroom but from the AC vent, it seems that the drainage and AC duct are interconnected somewhere. Despite multiple requests we were not provided an alternate room on the first night and had to stay in that unbearable stench. We were even okay with moving to a double room with an extra bed but the hotel refused to accommodate us and finally gave us a side view three bed family room on the second day, and even had the gall to say that they were providing an upgrade, simply because this room could accommodate six people. Initially they were also not willing to give any other concession despite our having to move from a costly sea facing suite to a large non sea facing room (that we didn't need). Eventually the hotel did give us a discount, but it was only after a major altercation with the duty manager Mr. Mishra at the front desk. At all times he made us feel that they were doing us a favour by changing our room even though their own housekeeping staff had come and confirmed the stench (and pleaded helplessness to do anything about it). It seemed to us that the hotel had sold us the room despite knowing that there was a problem with it (it was not available initially on their website when we were looking to book but was made available for us after we had called them). This lack of honesty and the abrasive behaviour from the manager Mr. Mishra really left a bad taste in the mouth. Apart from this incident and the fact that for a three star hotel prices were almost equivalent to five star hotel prices, the hotel also has other disadvantages: 1. No direct access to the beach - you have to take daily (free) tickets from the front desk and go through the adjacent OTDC Panthaniwas property 2. Prices of some menu items especially the tandoori pomfret are a bit on the higher side for the location 3. There is limited parking within the hotel compound and most people had to park in a no parking zone in the street outside. The limited parking inside the hotel can at the most accommodate six cars. In terms of positives, their restaurant is nice and their food is in general good. Also, apart from the manager Mr. Mishra everyone else was nice and cooperative. Room sizes are decent and they are well kitted and sea facing rooms have a good view.
Hotel Royal Grand Heritage

The property is relatively new. The rooms are well appointed. Bed linen was spotless. The service staff was new and little clueless. Hotel is located on the Grand Road which is around 1.5 kms from Lord Jagannath Temple. The breakfast was not for me. Overall a good hotel at a great location.
Hotel Petal Regency

Petal regency has a decent offering in terms of its amenities and facilities. The total stay was for multiple days. The location of the hotel is also not too shabby. Even if its not directly on the beach, it is situated close enough to it (walking distance - 600m. The rooms are also pretty good. The washroom was clean when we arrived. The rooms contain (depending on selection) tv service, fully functioning air conditioner and an accessible balcony. The hotel also has wifi service, albeit the wifi signal is spotty at places due to the signal strength not being strong enough. The restaurant is not operational currently, however room service for food is available for select items (choice here is very limited though. The staff were polite and courteous. They can even arrange for sightseeing and other things as required. The safety is also adequate with the hotel being covered completely by cctv and rotational staff. The hotel also has full elevator service. The only critical feedback would be regarding the room cleaning service, although that can somewhat be attributed to the room keys not being present with them and the guests not being in their room. However, when the guests were present, the cleaning appeared quite rushed, and given that this is a hotel at a beach location (which means inevitable sand and dirt buildup in rooms and washrooms, the cleaning would need to be focused on more. Additionally, some areas of the hotel are currently under construction, which also adds additional challenges concerning the cleanliness of the general areas and navigation. Overall, apart from these issues, it was a worthwhile place to stay in at an affordable price, near the beach.
Hotel VIP Square

One of the best hotels in puri. It is located in the heart of the city and is close by to all the tourist attractions the puri temple is just 1. 2 km away from this hotel. One downside of the hotel is as it is situated on the main road you have a lot of traffic sound. The hotel also has an in house kitchen and they really do cook amazing food and provide good quantity and the food was worth every penny paid. The staff are super friendly and very courteous and guide you in each and every step a person named rahul helped us and guided us a lot right from visiting tourist attractions, letting us know the famous sweet and clothing shops in and around and also helping us in hiring auto s and bargaining it for us. The room features a king size bed, tv, geyser, complementary water, coffee and milk powder, a kettle. However we were disappointed while using the geyser as it takes a lot of time to fill up a bucket of water as it is instant geyser only a small amount of water gets heated only this issue need to be fixed. The hotel also offers cab facilities to visit in and around the city and also airport pickup and drop facilities at a minimal cost and would definitely recommend using these services as the cabs on the streets will rip you off. Overall we had a great and a wonderful experience and must hotel to stay while you are in puri and also hats off to the staff for being so responsive and helpful. Would definitely visit this hotel once again on our next visit.
