We didn’t stay here but had a celebratory Saturday night family meal in the restaurant. A member of our party has a nut allergy and we were assured that none of the meals on our table would contain nuts. The food was okay, although our venison mains had no carbohydrates and there were no side dish options on the menu leaving us hungry. The mousse dessert was tasteless and we had no idea what the cheeses were on the cheeseboard as they weren’t described on arrival or on the menu. Despite the assurance that there would be no nuts in any dishes served to our table, nuts starting creeping into our food throughout the meal and the person with the allergy was served nuts in the starter and consequently was ill. Thankfully the allergy is not fatal but this could be the case with another guest.

Stopped here on a business trip. Decided to take lunch in the garden to take in the absolutely incredible views. The sky was blue at last and the small village of Reeth looked lovely. Driving from Leyburn was breath-taking. My lunch was really nice and staff were obviously passionate about the place. A couple with a toddler having a drink were offered a giant connect4 by Georgia (I asked her name). She had no need to do that but it demonstrates the culture. I will be back to stay and will report back

We did not stay overnight in the hotel, but instead we treated a friend for his birthday to the three course Sunday lunch. Oh my God how delicious it was, probably the best meal we’ve had in a very long time. The hotel is five star and certainly so is the food. Great value as well at £23 for two courses and £28 for three at that price, we all had to go for the three! Hubby and I had a soft goat cheese and beetroot salad to start, our friend had smoked trout. All the starters were absolutely delicious for the main courses. Will and our friend had the roast chicken dinner, I had fried Sea Bream in lemon and caper butter. All, the food was top-notch. The Sea Bream was cooked perfectly with crispy skin and flaky light flesh. Hay and Friend said the chicken dinner was beautiful, especially the rich gravy and the roast potatoes! Deserts were a white chocolate and Baileys mousse, warm chocolate brownie with vanilla ice cream and the cheeseboard. Again absolutely delicious. We were stuffed! The staff are all lovely and so accommodating and attentive. There is a very very wine list as well as a good selection of gins. I cannot recommend this place enough.

My husband and I stayed two nights in Fremington over bank holiday weekend. On our arrival we were greeted warmly and shown to our room. It has recently been refurbished and was of an excellent standard. The en suite was especially spacious with a lovely bath and seperate rain head shower. Toiletries were supplied. The room had a lovely view of Fremington Edge at the rear of the car park. Tea and coffee making facilities and biscuits were supplied. The bed was comfortable and towels and bath robes were supplied too. All the public areas were decorated to a high standard and were clean. We chose to eat in the restaurant both nights and my dietary requirements were accomodated and the staff were excellent. The chef has designed the menu around good quality English dishes and the ingredients were chosen from local suppliers - our meals did not disappoint! Breakfast was lovely and had a number of hot dishes to choose from together with toast and jam and fruit, yoghurts, cereal and fruit juice. All staff were very friendly and professional and eager to help. Thank you for a wonderful stay. We would definitely consider returning in the future.

Stayed in the wonderful Hotel in the lovely village of Reeth near Richmond North Yorkshire, the staff were friendly and welcoming. The rooms are immaculately decorated and perfect for a weekend stay. The food in the Burgoyne restaurant is 5 star, we had an evening meal, breakfast and Sunday Lunch and would recommend anyone who stays in Reeth to eat here absolutely brilliant. Will definitely staying again. Add to that the lovely countryside walks and this is a perfect place to stay.

A wonderful wedding anniversary stay. We stayed in the Ivelet room which has amazing views over Reeth green. The welcome was incredibly friendly, the drinks in the garden lovely on a rare warm and sunny day and altogether it has a relaxed atmosphere. The dinner was reasonably priced and high quality and the wine list extensive without it being too expensive. The decor is not to everyone’s taste being a bit steam punk meets a Victorian sitting room but it feels quite tongue in cheek and really interesting. Importantly, if it’s a bit much for you they have bedrooms decorated in traditional luxury hotel style, which is a good idea. Altogether 5 out of 5 and £320 for the best room, dinner, room and a lovely breakfast ( try the smoked trout) at the height of summer pricing was to my mind, worth it. They also threw in free drinks as it was our wedding anniversary and all the staff knew, which is a nice touch. We will be back.

Afternoon Tea with 8 friends - great food, lovely staff, great venue! Yummy cocktails too! The view from the Hotel is so beautiful - lovely Reeth. The weather was lovely so we also sat in the garden enjoying the early evening sun to finish our lovely day. Value for money. Overall a lovely experience. Thank you

My stay at The Burgoyne was excellent. A very warm, Yorkshire welcome. My room was opulent, with a tremendous view overlooking the green. Service throughout was attentive. Simon and his team were happy in their duty of caring for their guests. Breakfast was served well with local produce. Thank you. I'll recommend and return.

Amazing stay at this beautiful hotel. The staff simply couldn’t do enough for us; we were given the most luxurious room on the top floor with stunning views. If that wasn’t enough, we decided to dine in, and WOW, the dining experience exceeded all expectations! The food was exceptional, beautifully presented, and bursting with flavor. Every detail, from the ambiance to the service, made our meal unforgettable. A big thank you to Simon the manager who welcomed us and to all the staff for your professional service
