My daughter and I arrived very tired after a very delayed flight in the early hours of the morning. The hotel was closed and locked up but they had arranged someone to meet us with a key and show us to our room, great service and huge relief. Unfortunately although the room was lovely it wasn’t the room I had booked ( no balcony) On meeting Alexandra at breakfast, she explained that there had been a double booking but we would be moving to another room. by the time we came back from the beach all our luggage had been moved to our new room and wow it was fabulous, a gorgeous large balcony with views across the city, 4 poster bed and walk in large shower. Also complimentary bottle of wine and fresh fruit. The hotel is in a great location, we loved the old town and its winding streets and fabulous restaurants. 15 mins walk to nearest beach. The pool is small but great for a dip to cool off with comfortable sunbeds and complimentary iced tea. We used the bus to visit Georgioupolis which was beautifull with a great beach. Thanks again to Alexandria for all her recommendations and for organising our trip to spinalonga, somewhere I have always wanted to visit after reading The Island, definitely worth a visit. Also thanks to Marcus for looking after us and keeping us supplied with ice for our G and Ts This hotel is a great find, made even more special by its great staff who can’t do enough for you. Thanks for a great stay. We will return Jeanette and Ellie G

The worst hotel I have ever been to in my life. When me, my partner and my elderly parents arrived to the hotel after a full day of travelling we were greeted by the receptionist who offered us a drink and told us to sit down which we obviously assumed was our warm welcome as we checked in. HOWEVER. We were then told there is a big problem, that there is only 1 room available as we supposedly had ‘cancelled’ the other room which DID NOT happen. We were dumbfounded and showed the proof that we that had booked 2 rooms and had paid for 2 junior rooms with a balcony. The receptionist then said no we received a cancellation for one of the rooms. They said there is no more rooms available and we will all have to stay in the same room, a second room will only be available for 2 nights, 3 days after we arrived and we would have to pay an extra €120 euros per night if we was to do so, and then we would have to go back into one room all together after the 2 nights. This of course is not suitable. We paid for 2 junior suites. Every other hotel was booked up in the area so we had no option of trying to book another hotel either as a desperate measure. We asked for a refund because we booked 2 rooms and paid the money for 2 junior suites. The 1 room we all had to share was not suitable for 4 adults either. The hotel made up 2 single beds that felt as though they were made of stone and were fold up beds. My elderly mother is disabled. We were so stressed and upset at the situation and asked could we see the manager. The manager then arrived at the hotel and was very aggressive, unsympathetic and dismissive of us and told us it is our fault and that he cannot do nothing to help us and to take it up with EasyJet. Of course we did do this, and after a full day of waiting for EasyJet we had to stay in the one room overnight as 4 adults. It was a nightmare. My poor elderly mother was distraught. On the pictures advertising this hotel it looks lovely and quant but do not be deceived. It is dark and dingy. The breakfast area is 3 tables situated in the reception area with a disgraceful breakfast selection. I honestly cannot understand the good reviews about this hotel I am bewildered. Luckily, EasyJet resurrected our holiday and found us as a beautiful 5 star hotel 30 minutes from the old town and we could finally enjoy our holiday, after the beginning from hell. When leaving this hotel to go to our new hotel, reception told us we owe €65 to the manager for allowing 4 of us to stay in the one room. We honestly could not believe it. The audacity was unbelievable. I would not reccomend this hotel to anyone it is awful.

We spent a week at this beautiful, small hotel and had a wonderful time. Our room overlooked the pool and was well appointed and kept spotlessly clean. The beds were comfortable and the air conditioning was a real blessing. The staff were friendly and attentive and nothing was too much trouble for them. The buffet breakfasts were varied and plentiful with a large selection of items including meats, cheeses, cooked eggs, fruit and the most amazing greek pastries. The location is ideal for exploring the Old Town and I would highly recommend this hotel. A big thank you to all the staff for making our stay so memorable.

I can not praise this hotel and staff enough in making our first sty in Crete the most amazing experience of a wonderful island. We were made so welcome by Marcos as soon as we arrived with a welcome cold drink and were shown to our room on the top floor overlooking the quiet garden and pool area. The room "Terpsichore" was perfect with a four poster bed and beamed ceiling. There was a large roof balcony with table and chairs and the bathroom had a hydroshower. Breakfast was plentiful with lots of choice, whatever time you came down. There are only 3 tables for breakfast so you are asked to ring reception before going down for breakfast to check there is a table free, but the hotel only has 9 rooms so we never had to wait for more than a couple of minutes. We were kept well hydrated with jugs of lemonade or fruit juice whilst out by the pool and they even provided Raki and sweet pastries on reception 24 hours a day. Although the hotel was perfect for us, the very best thing about the hotel is the staff. Marcos and Alexandra made our stay exceptional and unforgettable with their care and local knowledge and recommendations - nothing was too much trouble. Thank you so much for making our holiday so wonderful. We will certainly be back to Crete, to Rethymno and definitely to this same hotel Cheryl and Trevor

Just spent a lovely week here with my teenage son. The staff are so welcoming and helpful, also in a great location in the old town. Pool is small but adequate for a refresh on a hot day. The only drawback was the shower in the bath with no overhead wall attachment

Warm welcome. Beautiful building. Large spacious authentic rooms. White wash brick work and high ceilings our room looked over the plunge pool. Very quiet apart from the quaint bong from the church opposite which rung at “random o’clock”! Huge bed, clean towels every day. Breakfast is basic continental.

Wow, what a lovely place to stay in Rethymno old town. This small hotel is in the perfect place in the old town. It's in a quiet side street but within minutes of all the beautiful restaurants and tavernas of which there are many and most are excellent. We stayed in room 102, a junior suite with balcony overlooking the lovely street. Room was large with a fridge and aircon and safe all included in the price which is not always the case. It has a very comfortable four poster bed and corner bath with shower attachment. We do love a walk in shower but this did not detract from our holiday at all. Breakfast is included and is fruit, yogurt, bread and pastries and eggs, sausage and bacon. Coffee and tea are served by the two wonderful receptionists or juice if you prefer. I must just mention the two young ladies on reception, they were absolutely amazing and friendly and helpful. They will give advice on places to eat, visit etc. Top marks to them both and also the maid who kept our room spotless and changed our towels every day. would definitely stay here if we came to Rethymno again, which is very likely. We loved it, thanks very much , love from Paula and Garry x
