Bryn Derwen

Fantastic property very comfortable and great location just a short stroll from the town. Met by Dick who was a great host. Rooms are very nice very an amazingly comfortable bed. Cracking view across the valley where you could see the Red Kites circling . Nice to have little pots of tea, coffee and sugar instead of the sachets and fresh milk available at all times. Room and en suite spotless with fresh towels shampoo shower gel etc. Breakfast first class very hot and plentiful. A great base for exploring the Elan valley as we did on our cycles. A nice secure cycle store also helps when returning following a long ride.

What can I say! I cannot recommend this B&B enough! This is one of the best places we have stayed ; Dick was so welcoming, friendly and helpful , looking after us bikers with a safe, undercover area to park our bike too. The room was hotel standard ++++being spacious and clean with complimentary drinks, biscuits, water and even chocolates on the bed to welcome us! A large en-suite, comfy bed, air conditioning and a beautiful view added to the already high standard. The fabulous breakfast with a poached egg of the deepest orange ( I’m guessing courtesy of the beautiful bantams in the garden) was the icing on the cake! Thank you so much Dick for your hospitality and you clearly work tirelessly to provide a wonderful time away for those who stay at Bryn Derwen. I am sure we will be back!

Dick is a fantastic host he is so helpful and attentive his B&B is so clean and the rooms and facilities are top notch the breakfast again fantastic sets you up for the day ,Dick keep doing what your doing 10 out of 10 will be staying again would recommend .

Absolutely brilliant stay. Rooms were spotlessly clean. We were two couples come to Wales for a break. King room, which our friends had had wonderful views over the hills while we were in the jacuzzi room which gave us lovely, quiet back garden views. We had an amazing fresh cooked breakfast, each morning, each one slightly different but no trouble at all. Dick (The owner) was full of information but not ‘in your face’! All in all if I could give 10 stars they still wouldn’t be enough. Loved it and will definitely be back!

Was very fortunate to have found this gem, owner was very professional and helpful, establishment was absolutely spotless, it would be impossible to find a fault. Breakfast was amazing, faultless. Highly recommended for anyone visiting the area. It was easy to see why Dick won 4 in a bed.

Beautifully clean room and en-suite. Dick the owner should be very proud of his B and B. Breakfast, also cooked by him, was delicious and you could have cereal and cooked breakfast. I had something different every day and everything was great. We had friends on the near by camping and caravan site and it took about 15 mins from door to door. 10 minute walk into town for pubs restaurants and shops. Hope to return soon.

I had to book in to Bryan Derwen quite late in the day as my booking at another hotel in another town had been cancelled due to a double booking. Dick, the owner, left the pub where he was watching the rugby, got me checked in and then walked me back into town and recommended a place to have dinner. My room was beautifully clean, everything looked brand new and the bed was extremely comfortable. Breakfast was lovely, good selection and everything freshly cooked to order.

A wonderful stay in the spacious jacuzzi room. Super comfy bed, spotless and newly renovated throughout. Very well run and organised by the owner. Nice views to the rear and the chickens. Breakfast was very relaxed at around 9.15 and we ordered full English which was delicious with plenty of filter coffee. The location is just out of town and a 10 minute walk along Dark Lane to the local restaurants. Cosmo dog was also welcomed (£5 extra) and enjoyed the hospitality and nearby river walks.

Loved this bed an breakfast most delightful owner. Lovely clean rooms just an all round great stay would come again and would definitely recommend to others not much else I can say . And it truly deserved to win four in a bed
