We loved the family atmosphere, such a neat vintage place. The owners are very nice and helpful with information of things to do in the area.

While there were areas where it was clear that an attempt was made, the overall impression was that it was unclean and not well maintained. Guests were required to pay for ice. A communal open access to linens and supplies may have good intentions, but is ill advised in a time of COVID-19. The location was far from where we intended and not handy to restaurants or grocery stores.

Not very soundproof. There were loud neighbors out on the porch for several hours, so be aware. The view of the lake was gorgeous!

New owners trying to update but the rooms need some TLC. Clean but musty smelling. Pool was excellent.

The room was filthy! A big spider 🕷 living in the corner of celling no toilet paper except the end of a roll . No soap except for pump on vanity. Towels pitiful use to be white but then with brown stains . Sheets alfull pillows the same . We just stayed that one night and we checked out after we saw all conditions. We slept in our cloths and at 5:30 am we were out of there . And I had a deer tick on my calf . It’s a fish camp not a lodge . Drunk men all hanging out at the door it was terrible!!!!!

Unfortunately when we arrived it was dark and the roads getting there are steep and winding, or we would have left. I was told once we arrived, not earlier when i spoke to them, that the room we booked through ******* was a rustic room, not updated like the others. That was very true, stained, gross carpet, old paneling, old bedding, cabinets in disrepair, rusty bathroom sink, etc., but that's not the worst of it. The towels left in the bathroom were very stained and looked to have recent makeup wiped off on them, face powder, not mascara, so should not have been a stain. Stained washcloths, so we didn't even shower. Then, at 3:30 am, a large critter jumped off the desk beside where we were sleeping and ran across the room. It was large and loud. We got up at daybreak and left, after my husband cleaned the coffee maker and pot so he could have coffee for the road. The people running the place were very nice when we checked in, and we can stay just about anywhere for a night, but these unrenovated rooms should not been rented.

My family and I have been coming to Tanglewood Lodge, for 15+ years, for so many reasons. First off, the host family that operates the lodge has a friendliness and courtesy that is unmatched. Anything you need while staying there, they will provide. Second, the location and the actually facilities: THIS IS NOT A 4-5 STAR LUXURY COMPLEX....that being said.....this fact is all part of the charm. Located on the east side of Taneycomo, it's nestled in a wooded location, away from the hustle of the town and the strip...with a morning and evening view to die for. Boat ramp, covered Boat dock and fishing area is extremely convenient, with chairs, fish nets, and a cleaning station for your catch. Up by your rooms, they have plenty of picnic tables and charcoal grills if you feel like serving up dinner for you and the family. Third, the location has a great pool, basketball court and I hear they might be putting a hot tub in soon. Fire pit with always available wood; horse shoe pit. Nicely equipped with activities if you just chose to stay put for your stay. Forth, the rooms: NOT A 5 STAR...DON'T EXPECT IT. That being said, the rooms are more than comfortable for our needs, and come equipped with a fridge, stove top, recliner and couch, flat screen tv, free wi-fi that works great, coffee maker, salt and pepper shakers, plenty of pots and pans...and old style lodge feel and all of it just adds to the charm of the place. Front desk has endless pamphlets for in-town activities, as well as a great bait and tackle shelf for your trout fishing needs. Parking has never been an issue, even when we drag our boat up from Oklahoma. Some folks want an updated, luxury spot when they visit Branson....We, and countless others, could care less. This spot is an old-time lodge feel, right on the lake, with fantastic ammenities for our needs, and a quiet and relaxing, wooded location that we go to EVERY YEAR, and can't wait to plan our next visit to. Rates DID go up SIGNIFICANTLY, but, being in the real estate business myself, you can't blame them for bringing these rates up to market value and to be a competitive business in the branson area. My family and I will be Tanglewood guests....FOREVER.
